I like to open several tabs in GNOME terminal when I work. In Firefox, you can switch between tabs using Ctrl-Tab or Ctrl-Shift-Tab. How do I get the same functionality in GNOME terminal?
If both source and destination are remote, rsync complains:
The source and destination cannot both be remote.
rsync error: syntax or usage error (code 1) at main.c(1156) [Receiver=3.0.7]
Is there a insurmountable technical obstacle to making rsync do this? Or it's simply a case of it's-not-yet-implemented? It seems relatively easy to create a local buffer in memory that mediates the transfer between two remotes, holding both hashes and data.
Conversely, is there other (unix) software that implements this functionality?
Is it possible to assign different background images to tabs in Conemu?
Console2 supports custom backgrounds per tab, and I'd like something similar to the functionality it provides.
Perhaps I can set this in Startup - Tasks or via the command line of a running tab, but I can't find any information on it.
e.g.
Tab1 cmd "cmd.png"
Tab2 powershell "ps.png"
Tab3 Visual Studio Command Prompt "vs.png"
Tab4 Admin:cmd "warning.png"
Hello Experts,
Can you list websites (free) allowing upload a file from an existing url ?
Currently I am using ADrive's file transfer feature, do you know other services with similar functionality ?
I'm looking for a wiki software which allows me to
store wiki pages on a server (basic wiki functionality)
store a local copy on my computer
edit my local content, and then merge my changes back to the server
(version control for conflicting update)
Is there a wiki, or a set of software which allows me to do this? The primary platform is linux, but I wouldn't mind if it also ran on windows...
I have a large MPEG4 file split up into a number of smaller files. I would like to make these files available as one movie. So I need something like a playlist. It seems the playlist option for live streaming is not available for VOD. Is there a way to get this functionality somehow?
When I read something I need to underscore what I like, or what I think is important, and to take notices about that read, near on that current paragraph.
So, does anyone know a Firefox add-on or something else (another browser, any other application) which can provide me such a functionality?
ps: I've tried some research tools as Zotero, but it is not what I'm looking for.
I just started using Notepad++ for simple scripting tasks. Notepad++ has a bunch of plug-ins to extend the core functionality. What are your favorite ones?
I am looking for an application I used in 2001.
It was a curses application that displayed devices or files in hexadecimal format, and allowed searching through them and other functionality.
I can't find anything remotely like this, does anyone have an idea?
I like Ganglia for its Gmetric function, and I like its multi-layer capability.
But Ganglia does not have healthiness check, alerting and etc. for the server monitor functionality. So it would be great to bring this two species together.
Sure, we can install Ganglia, and then install ZenOSS. But is there a plugin or something that can smoothly integrate them together? At least integration at the presentation level.
Thanks
I am looking for the same JavaScript functionality (Errors/Warnings/etc.) that the Web Developer add-on for Firefox has. Does such a thing exist and where can I find it?
Is there any free application which give this functionality? I have seen this, http://www.tekl.de/english/Dictionary_Plugins.html, which is great, but i need something which can help me in english to german translation.
Thanks.

I just finished updating to 10.04, and after rebooting...it looks pretty much the same. I don't see any difference in the desktop, windows, applications, etc.
Are there any new settings I should explore? Any functionality I'm missing because I updated an existing account, vs re-creating it?
Hello,
In the beginning Google Chrome seemed fine but recently its been crashing too many times. I want to move back to Firefox.
I really love the way Google Chrome syncs bookmarks to 'Google Docs'. Is there any extension which gives this functionality in firefox?
I have the task to find or develop a support tool which has some very common (?) features:
Send the following data as a email or to ticket system, after clicking a button like "get system summary" or "create ticket"
Screen shoot
System Summary
Registry
Log-Files
Question(s): Are their any tools which have a similar functionality already (to buy or for inspiration). I their some kind of commercial or open source framework or tool set, which I can use as starting point or to customize?
I've got an environment with several IIS 6 web servers hosting hundreds of apps (dozens of sites, hundreds of virtual directories) all with a myriad of different configurations belonging to dozens of different developers (all deploying apps willy nilly).
Is there some sort of managed software solution that will
centralize management of all my IIS6 environments
provide some inventory functionality
allow for reporting or querying of said application inventory
enforce and automate some sort of deployment process?
I would prefer to set up our DFS such as:
\domain.local\users
\domain.local\customers
\domain.local\support
etc.
Is this a problem? Do I need to instead set all of the above folders as targets under a root such as:
\domain.local\files\users
\domain.local\files\customers
\domain.local\files\support
Other than the path being shorter in the top example, which is what I would prefer, is there a difference in functionality in Windows DFS between the two examples shown?
Thanks in advance.
GNU ps supports BSD-style options, UNIX-style options, and GNU long options. Is using one of these types (in scripts and at the command line) preferred over the others?
I get the impression from the manpage that the functionality of the option styles does not overlap completely.
I am trying to test functionality related to timezone handling/conversion
during synchronization between two of my test servers (currently they are running on same mashine).
Is it possible to set up hosts so one will be running, say, by London time, and the other by Moscow?
Web applications running on both servers are written on Perl.
Hello emacs gurus,
I'm out of ideas here - my emacs crashes when popup dialog is opened. The x-popup-dialog function is probably to blame but I found no workaround to this. My Emacs version is 23.1.1 . Unfortunately some functionality of emacs calls this (e.x. customize asks whether it should save the changes) which causes the crash.
Does anybody know how to fix it or disable it?
Well, i've been using sxipper for some time now, but recently came across lastpass. I can't tell which one is more secure or has a better functionality, sxipper however seems easier to use.
Am currently testing a bulk CSV import functionality web application and I came across a error
The given destination is not writeable
My application is zend based and uses the MVC structure

What Ubuntu command do I exectute to safely grant the necessary rights to my uploads folder in my web application?
I'm using FTP 7.5 on Windows 2008 R2.
When I upload a file and it is partially uploaded I'm able to move it before it has completed. Is there a way to stop this?
I see an option under Advanced settings-Behaviour-File Handling-Allow reading files while uploading but this doesn't seem to do the trick. I guess it's write access that I need to stop.
It seemed to have this functionality by default on IIS6.
In Windows XP, installing the software 'Explorer Breadcrumbs' allows me to have an address bar similar to Windows 7 (directories are displayed as buttons that you can click to go to).
With Explorer Breadcrumbs in Windows XP, I can open a directory in the address bar in a new window by ctrl-clicking or middle clicking the directory button.
Is there a way to have this same functionality in Windows 7?
