• Getting started with SOAP [closed]

  A site I developed has a new requirement to get weather data from the National Weather Service. They have quite a bit of info on how to use SOAP to get their data and display it in the browser, but what we need to do is use a cron job to get the data at specific intervals, then parse the data out into a database. I have no problem writing PHP code that will run an XSLt and parse xml records out into SQL queries, but I have no idea how to handle this with SOAP (which I've never worked with.) Do I get the data via a SOAP request, save it to an XML file on my web server, then run the XSLt against that? Or is there some other way to go about this?

• Java saying XML Document Not Well Formed

  Hey all. Java's XML parser seems to be thinking that my XML document is not well formed following the root element, but I've validated it with several tools and they all disagree. It's probably an error in my code rather than in the document itself, I'd really appreciate any help you all could offer me. • How compilers know about other classes and their properties?

  I'm writing my first programming language that is object orientated and so far so good with create a single 'class'. But, let's say I want to have to classes, say ClassA and ClassB. Provided these two have nothing to do with each other then all is good. However, say ClassA creates a ClassB--this poses 2 related questions: -How would the compiler know when compiling ClassA that ClassB even exists, and, if it does, how does it know it's properties? My thoughts thus far had been: instead of compiling each class at a time (i.e scan, parse and generate code) each "file (not really file, per se, but a "class") do I need to scan + parse each first, then generate code for all?

  I am working on a dollars to euros/euros to dollars converter in C#. I got the formula, $ times 0.73361 = euro, and I have checked Google with the answers. They were right, (1 dollar equals 0.73 euros). However, it stops working properly when the dollar input value is higher than $1363. This is what I get with $1364: $1364 = 1 000,64 €. I don't know what to do, will someone please help me? In Part 3 we had an ASP.NET MVC Website making a REST call to an Azure Service Bus service; to show that the REST stuff is really interoperable, in this version we use Node.js to make the secure service call. The code is on GitHub here: IPASBR Part 3.5. The sample code is simpler than Part 3 - rather than code up a UI in Node.js, the sample just relays the REST service call out to Azure. The steps are the same as Part 3: REST call to ACS with the service identity credentials, which returns an SWT; REST call to Azure Service Bus Relay, presenting the SWT; request gets relayed to the on-premise service. • esxi 5 monitoring

  I'm new to esxi/vmware world. Have few question about monitoring esxi host. Now I'm using trial versian esxi 5.1 I can see performance charts in vShpere client. Cool. But I want to export this raw data (raw - I mean cvs,txt or some format which I can parse later) to other server to be able to parse this data later and create custom charts. (please do not advise to try vCenter, I need custom charts etc.) I could run esxtop in batch mode and use this data... But... How does vShpere client performance charts work? Where client takes data for charts? So if I will use esxtop batch mode it will add extra load to server. Is it possible to use same source as vSphere client use for charts? There is /var/lib/vmware/hostd/stats/hostAgentStats-20.stats file. Its looks like it is binary format. As I understood it is exactly data which I need?!?! Any ideas how to parse it? Thanks! PS: maybe some one know where to find, if there is one, info about processes running on esxi host?

• Excel fails to open Python-generated CSV files

  I have many Python scripts that output CSV files. It is occasionally convenient to open these files in Excel. After installing OS X Mavericks, Excel no longer opens these files properly: Excel doesn't parse the files and it duplicates the rows of the file until it runs out of memory. Specifically, when Excel attempts to open the file, a prompt appears that reads: "File not loaded completely." Example of code I'm using to generate the CSV files: import csv with open('csv_test.csv', 'wb') as f: writer = csv.writer(f) writer.writerow([1,2,3]) writer.writerow([4,5,6]) Even the simple file generated by the above code fails to load properly in Excel. However, if I open the CSV file in a text editor and copy/paste the text into Excel, parse it with text to columns, and then save as CSV from Excel, then I can reopen the CSV file in Excel without issue. Do I need to pass an additional parameter in my scripts to make Excel parse the CSV files the same way it used to? Or is there some setting I can change in OS X Mavericks or Excel? Thanks.

• Syncing data between devel/live databases in Django

  With Django's new multi-db functionality in the development version, I've been trying to work on creating a management command that let's me synchronize the data from the live site down to a developer machine for extended testing. (Having actual data, particularly user-entered data, allows me to test a broader range of inputs.) Right now I've got a "mostly" working command. It can sync "simple" model data but the problem I'm having is that it ignores ManyToMany fields which I don't see any reason for it do so. Anyone have any ideas of either how to fix that or a better want to handle this? I would have expected that (clojure.contrib.prxml/prxml (clojure.xml/parse xml-content)) spit back xml, but that is not the case.
