    Hello everyone I wonder wether on a website like chatroulette for example, the streaming video is going directly from user to user or wether it is going through a server. In other words I wonder wether it is possible to offer a webcam service on a website, so that the streaming video goes directly from user to user, without overloading the system. If it is possible, what technology makes it possible? Flash? Thank you ;)

    Hi everyone, I'm looking for a simple Flex or JavaScript based image editing component which can be embedded in a web application. It shouldn't be a web service but rather a component that I can download and customize (i18n etc.). I only need some basic features: most important is cropping, optional features would be rotating and adjusting brightness/contrast.     Hi everyone, even though it is possible to write generic code in C using void pointer(generic pointer), I find that it is quite difficult to debug the code since void pointer can take any pointer type without warning from compiler. (e.g function foo() take void pointer which is supposed to be pointer to struct, but compiler won't complain if char array is passed.) What kind of approach/strategy do you all use when using void pointer in C?

    I guess these are all questions that everyone must just know, because I'm not seeing this in the documentation :-D I understand that the public folder is the folder that the world has access to. I know it is the case with the css folder, but in migrating a traditional php website over, will my /images folder, /js folder /mp3s, etc Will those all just also be public folders that will be accessed via the layout or view.phtml pages? Thanks!

  • How do i select the 1st and then every 4th row in a html-table with nth-child()-selector?

    Ok, math isn't my strong side, I admit it. All I want to do is to select the first, 5th, 9th, 13th, 17th etc row in a html-table. Can anybody with better math-skills point me in the right directionor perhaps supply a "nth-child-for-dummies" guide? I tried nth-child(1n+4) (which selects the 4th row and everyone after), and i also tried nth-child(0n+4) which selects the fourth row and nothing after that. Thanks in advance.

    Hi everyone, SELECT * FROM jobs WHERE (SELECT DISTINCT jobs.* FROM jobs, job_requests WHERE (jobs.user_id = 1) OR (job_requests.user_id = 1 AND job_requests.job_id = jobs.id)) This sql gives me Mysql::Error: Operand should contain 1 column(s). If i execute the select from the where clause it works SELECT DISTINCT jobs.* FROM jobs, job_requests WHERE (jobs.user_id = 1) OR (job_requests.user_id = 1 AND job_requests.job_id = jobs.id) Could somebody explain me why? This query is generated by rails activerecord so the main select is needed.

  • Is it safe to change the 'Security.salt' line to a more lengthy string {64 hex key}

    Hi everyone, I have changed the Configure::write('Security.salt', '############'); value in the file config/core.php file to a '256-bit hex key'. Is it safe or a good practice to change these lines for every different installation of cakephp application or shall I revert back to the original ? I also changed the Configure::write('Security.cipherSeed','7927237598237592759727'); to a different one of more length. Please throw some light on this. Thanks
