  • using OOoWrite, i would like to add custom html elements

    I have 35 pages list of scientific references. In order to upload them to a webpage, I would like to add custom fields before and after each reference. I would also like to find italicized text and add around it. For instance, I would like this paragraph Alouf N., 1973. Biotope et description de Niphargus altagahizi n. sp., Amphipode Gammaridé souterrain du Liban, International Journal of Speleology 5: 49-61. to look like: <p class="cite">Alouf N., 1973.     Hi Why does XHTML 1.0 Strict display a line height as appearing larger than a line height of the same value in XHTML 1.0 Transitional? This therefore pushing down content within table cells (i.e Hotmail in Firefox, Gmail in IE and Firefox). Has anyone else experienced this issue and know a way around it? Cheers

    In my javascript file there is, var htm = '<div style="overflow:hidden;height:24px;width:150px;" onmouseover="tooltip(this)">' ; function tooltip(sp) { sp.title = sp.innerHTML; } So on mouse over a text the tooltip is displayed.But the tool tip does not stay longer. meaning the position is not fixed. Can the code be modified such that mouse over should be done on the text and the tool tip also........

  • Lock HTML select element, allow value to be sent on submit

    I have a select box (for a customer field) on a complex order form, when the user starts to add lines to the order they should not be allowed to change the customer select box (unless all lines are deleted). My immediate thought was that I could use the disabled attribute, but when the box is disabled the selected value is no longer passed to the target. When the problem arose a while ago one of the other developers worked around this by looping through all the options and disabling all but the selected option, and sure enough the value was passed to the target and we've been using since. But now I'm looking for a proper solution, I don't want to loop through all the options because are data is expanding and it's starting to introduce performance issues. I'd prefer not to enable this / all the elements when the submit button is hit. How can I lock the input, whilst maintaining the selected option and passing that value to the target script? I would prefer a non-JavaScript solution if possible, but if needed we are running jQuery 1.4.2 so that could be used.

  • Making form submissions unique using PHP and HTML

    Hello all I'm currently developing a page where the user fills out a form, and when submitted they are taken to the next page. When on the next page, I want to have it so that if the user went back to the previous page using the back button, or hit refresh, the submission will not be saved into the DB. Now I recall reading somewhere that if you had a way to make each submission unique, this issue is averted, but after screwing around for hours on end, for the life of me I cannot recall how this could be done (using PHP), so long story short has anyone ran into this, and if so, what was your solution?

If possible please donot provide the solution in JQuery.     I have a table which border I want to have a sort of zig-zag shape. I want the table to have an automatic size; resizing depending on how big the browser is. But rrathe than just having an image that gets stretched I want a seamless image that gets repeat instead. I found out this can be done with CSS3's Border-image but by looking and Browser Statistics I can see than only about half of all the viewers will be able to see it since no version of IE does yet support it. So I'm looking for an alternate method. What would be the best way of doing it? Thanks in advance!

  • Align table columns HTML

    I finally was able to align the columns in the tables of a page of my website. Though I found the solution I don't understand it. This is a fiddle I prepared. If you delete display: block from the CSS the columns are centered perfectly. The fact is that I don't understand what that instruction is causing problems, doesn't it means that elements are displayed as block elements? Shouldn't it cause the elements (the raw in particular) to fill an entire line? Thanks for your explanation

Its not letting me to get the file until I use server side input file control. I don't want to use runat="server" attribute with my file control. Do anyone know how to do this.

    Hi, all. I'm looking for a way to replace the bullet character in Greasemonkey. I assume a Regular Expression will do the trick, but I'm not as well-versed in it as many of you. For example, "SampleSite.com • Page Title" becoming "SampleSite.com Page Title". The issue is that the character has already been parsed by the time Greasemonkey has gotten to it, and I don't know how to make it recognize the symbol. I've tried these so far, but they haven't worked: newTitle = document.title.replace(/•/g, ""); newTitle = document.title.replace("•", ""); //just for grins, but didn't work anyway

    Hi, few questions, just wondering if anyone can help? I have a table with 1 long row (1000 pixels) and one single column, how do i go about creating a method whereby when the mouse cursor is on the leftmost side of the cell, a variable, lets say X is set to 0, the further right the mouse cursor moves in the cell, the value of X increases. I know that sounds like a strange question but im working on a project where this type of functionality is desired. Is there a javascript method to create this feature? Thanks for any help.
