  This is probably a very common question, but I was unable to find an answer myself; All my list elements call the function setQuery like this onClick="admin_stats.setQuery(this);" rather than [hardcode] add this to every list element, is there a way to simply have it run when a list element is clicked? I'm not very familiar with jQuery Live or binding/unbinding, but I think they would play a role here? Before I reinvent a rather square-looking wheel I thought I might ask =)

• Removing items from lists and all references to them.

  I'm facing a situation where I have dependent objects and I would like to be able to remove an object and all references to it. Say I have an object structure like the code below, with a Branch type which references two Nodes. public class Node { // Has Some Data! } public class Branch { // Contains references to Nodes public Node NodeA public Node NodeB } public class Graph { public List<Node> Nodes; public List<Branch> Branches; } If I remove a Node from the Nodes list in the Graph class, it is still possible that one or more Branch objects still contains a reference to the removed Node, thus retaining it in memory, whereas really what I would quite like would be to set any references to the removed Node to null and let the garbage collection kick in. Other than enumerating through each Branch and checking each Node reference sequentially, are there any smart ideas on how I remove references to the Node in each Branch instance AND indeed any other class which reference the removed Node?

  I am using a TabWidget that contains a List in one tab. What I want to do is when a user selects an item, a webview is shown in that tab. If the user then wants to go back to the list, they would click on the list tab. I can get the webview up that replaces the whole tabwidget but don't know how to leave the tabs and show a webview. How can i link the places in the list to the dots on the map? • Starting with an empty dataProvider for a <List>

  I'm using a List which I need to be empty at the start. I'm adding items to it as needed by clicking a button. Since it's empty, I haven't added a dataProvider property <s:List id="thelist" itemRenderer="listIR" /> To add an item, I'm adding it to the dataProvider directly thelist.dataProvider.addItem() but when I do that, it gives me this error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. Also I have a debugging Alert in the listIR itemRenderer itself and I see that when the list is created, I get that alert twice as if 2 itemRenderers were created, even though the list is supposed to be empty at the start. Any ideas what's wrong with this itemRenderer? How do I start with an empty dataProvider and add items smoothly to it?

  I have a project which uses OMake for its build system, and I am trying to handle a rather tough corner case. I have some definition files and a tool which can take these definition files and create GraphViz files. There are two problems, though: Each definition file can produce multiple graphs, and the list of graphs it can produce is encoded in the file. My dump tool does have a -list option which lists all the graphs a definition file will produce. This dump tool is built in the source tree. I want this list available in the OMakefile so I can use other rules to convert the DOT files to SVG, and have a phony target depend on all the SVGs (goal: a single build command which builds SVG descriptions of all my graphs). If I only had the first problem, it would be easy - I would run the tool to build a list, and then use that list to build a target which invokes the dumper to output the GraphViz files. However, I am rather stuck on forcing the dump tool to be built before it is needed. If this were make, I would just run make recursively to build the dump tool. OMake does not allow recursive invocation, however, and the build function is only usable from osh. Any suggestions for a good solution to this problem?

  I am using a list to keep track of a number of custom Row objects as follows: Public Rows As List(Of Row)() Row has 2 properties, Key (a String) and Cells (an ArrayList). I need to be able to sort each Row within Rows based on a developer defined index of the Cells ArrayList. So for example based on the following Rows Row1.Cells = ("b", "12") Row2.Cells = ("a", "23") Rows.Sort(0) would result in Row2 being first in the Rows list.   I am populating a "Dictionary" with the results of an sp call. The key is the field name and the value is whatever value the sp returns for the field. This is all well and good but I'd like developers to have a predefined list of keys to access this list, for safety and documentation reasons. What I'd like to do is have something like an enum as a key for the dictionary so developers can safely access the list, but still have the ability to access the dictionary with a string key value. I am hoping to have a list of string values that I can access with an enum key AND a string key. Please make sure any suggestions are simple to implement, this is not the kind of thing I'm willing to build a lot of overhead to implement.

  Hi, I make a list in my code like so: List<IConnection> connections = new List<IConnection>(); where IConnection is my own interface. This is in a .NET 2.0 executable. If I run the code on my machine (with lots of .Net versions installed) it works fine. If I run it on my test machine (which only has .NET 3.5 SP1 installed) then I get a MethodAccessException in the System.Collections.Generic.List constructor. Any ideas what could be going wrong?

  Simple enough question. I need to know the best way to get the same list of contacts that show up when a user presses the Contacts button. By secondary accounts, in Android you can add additional gmail accounts to have the mail/contacts synced. The above intent will not list those additional contacts. I am also told that on the HTC Desire you can add contacts to the phone that do not get synced up to Google. These contacts also do not show up. So how do I get a real list of contacts so I can create my own list activity that works properly where the Google intent does not.

  Hi, I have a list of objects in Python. I then have another list of objects. I want to go through the first list and see if any items appear in the second list. I thought I could simply do for item1 in list1: for item2 in list2: if item1 == item2: print "item %s in both lists" However this does not seem to work. Although if I do: if item1.title == item2.title: it works okay. I have more attributes than this though so don't really want to do 1 big if statement comparing all the attributes if I don't have to. Can anyone give me help or advise on what I can do to find the objects which appear in both lists. Thanks
