    Let's say I have a macro called LengthOf(array): sizeof array / sizeof array[0] When I make a new array of size 23, shouldn't I get 23 back for LengthOf? WCHAR* str = new WCHAR[23]; str[22] = '\0'; size_t len = LengthOf(str); // len == 4 Why does len == 4? UPDATE: I made a typo, it's a WCHAR*, not a WCHAR**.

    Hi, I hope this hasn't been asked before. I have a nullable boolean called boolIsAllowed and a if condition like so: if(boolIsAllowed.HasValue && boolIsAllowed.Value) { //do something } My question is this good code or would I be better separating it into a nested if statement? Will the second condition get checked if boolIsAllowed.HasValue is equal to false and then throw an exception? I hope this question is too stupid. Thanks in advance.

    I am using this: byte[] buffer = new byte[10240]; As I understand this initialize the buffer array of 10kb filled with 0s. Whats the fastest way to fill this array (or initialize it) with junk data everytime? I need to use that array like 5000 times and fill it everytime with different junk data, thats why I am looking for a fast method to do it. The array size will also have to change everytime.

    I'm wondering what the difference is between the following two modules # First Example module Parent module Child end end and # Second Example module Parent::Child end Using the 2nd method, it appears as though the Parent module must be previously defined, otherwise I get an 'uninitialized constant' error Given this, what is the preferred way of defining modules such as this and then adding nested children with regards to syntax and file structure (ie. folders etc). Reference to a Rails way would be greatly appreciated. Are these two examples for all intents and purposes equivalent?

But when I change the values and hit the submit button, the values are never changed. I can't figure out why...

I have played around with RecursiveIteratorIterator but I'm not sure how to apply a different style to only the sub menu items and also how to only show these items if you are on the correct page.     A php script is giving this array (which has been passed through json_encode()) [{name:"a1",path:"b1"},{name:"a2",path:"b2"}] I use the following function to retrieve the array to jquery: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "functions.php", data: "action=" + something, cache: false, success: function(response) { alert(response); } }); The problem is I get the array back as a string: (new String("[{name:"a1",path:"b1"},{name:"a2",path:"b2"}}]")) How can I get it to be a javascript array?
