• Determine when a NSOpenPanel will close

  I'm trying to determine when an NSOpenPanel is closing before it actually closes. I need to do this so I can overlay another window with a screenshot of the open panel on top of it to be animated. Unfortunately, all the notifications that you seem to be able to access seem to fire AFTER the window's already been closed. This leads to a jarring stutter before you start your transition. I've tried: - using NSWindow delegate methods on the open panel (apparently, none of the NSWindow delegate methods work) - monitoring panel:userEnteredFilename:confirmed: (not called) - showing the dialog with a callback (callback happens AFTER the panel disappears)

• Received memory warning on setimage

  This problem has completely stumped me. This is for iOS 5.0 with Xcode 4.2 What's going on is that in my app I let user select images from their photo album and I save those images to apps document directory. Pretty straight forward. What I do then is that in one of the viewController.m files I create multiple UIImageViews and I then set the image for the image view from one of the picture that user selected from apps dir. The problem is that after a certain number of UIImage sets I receive a "Received memory warning". It usually happens when there are 10 pictures. If lets say user selected 11 pictures then the app crashes with Error (GBC). NOTE: each of these images are at least 2.5 MB a piece. After hours of testing I finally narrowed down the problem to this line of code [button1AImgVw setImage:image]; If I comment out that code. All compiles fine and no memory errors happen. But if I don't comment out that code I receive memory errors and eventually a crash. Also note it does process the whole CreateViews IBAction but still crashes at the end. I cannot do release or dealloc since I am running this on iOS 5.0 with Xcode 4.2 Here is the code that I used. • Child Activity in Android

  So I have two Activities. The main is called Main, and the child one is called Child. When a button is clicked in the main activity it triggers the following piece of code: Intent i = new Intent(Main.this, Child.class); Main.this.startActivity(i); That opens the Child activity. As soon as I call finish() or press the back button within the child activity instead of going back to the main one, the app just closes. Can you give me a hint where the problem might be :( P.S. By trial and error I found out that if edit AndroidManifest.xml and add android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Dialog" within the declaration of Child the back button and calling finish() behaves as expected: closes the child activity and brings the main into focus. The problem is that when I start typing in an EditText the screen starts flickering (rather bizzare). So I can't use it as a dialog. My main activity uses the camera, so that might be making problems. Although when the child activity is started, the onPause event is fired and it stops the camera until onResume is called.

  I have written a reporting suite, and I have a specific report that builds a CSV file. Serving this file via a browser on demand isn't an issue, but I need to be able to build this CSV file nightly, and email round a link to be able to download it. Essentially, I need to be able to replace a specific action with a symfony task, run via cron. So how do I gain application/module context from a symfony task? And secondly, how would I invoke the SwiftMailer library from a symfony task? I'm using symfony v1.4.4 and PHP v.5.2.13. Thanks in advance for your help.

• C++ -malign-double compiler flag

  I need some help on compiler flags in c++. I'm using a library that is a port to linux from windows, that has to be compiled with the -malign-double flag, "for Win32 compatibility". It's my understanding that this mean I absolutely have to compile my own code with this flag as well? How about other .so shared libraries, do they have be recompiled with this flag as well? If so, is there any way around this? I'm a linux newbie (and c++), so even though I tried to recompile all the libraries I'm using for my project, it was just too complicated to recursively find the source for all the libraries and the libraries they're dependent on, and recompile everything.

  I want to do something different on the last KeyValuePair of the Dictionary I'm iterating on. For Each item In collection If ItsTheLastItem DoX() Else DoY() End If Next Is this possible? Edit: As Jon correctly remarks, Dictionaries are not the kind of thing that's sorted, so I should mention that I only want to do this when displaying results to the user, and it doesn't matter if later on the last item is different.   I have an url /reportcsv that generates a plain text csv with Content-type: text/csv and Content-disposition: attachment; filename=report.csv. I want trigger this csv to be downloaded using Javascript. I'm considering two methods: 1) Setting location.href = /reportcsv 2) Setting an iframe url to /reportcsv Both seem to work in Safari. I was wondering if there is any difference between them, or if one is recommended over the other. My main requirement is that I don't want the user to leave the current page.

  Hi All, I am writing jsp to export data in excel format to user. An excel could be recieved on the cient side. However, since there's large amount of data, and I don't want to keep it in the server memory and write them at the end. I try to divide them and write serveral times. However, each extra write(..) will cause an extra new lines at the top of the excel worksheet and then the extra data is placed after these new lines. Does anyone know the reasons? This isn't exactly a coding question, but what does the BlackBerry audio API look like, and where can I get technical specifications on audio?   I've been working through Practical Common Lisp and as an exercise decided to write a macro to determine if a number is a multiple of another number: (defmacro multp (value factor) `(= (rem ,value ,factor) 0)) so that : (multp 40 10) evaluates to true whilst (multp 40 13) does not The question is does this macro leak in some way? Also is this "good" Lisp? Is there already an existing function/macro that I could have used?

This is great, but I have a hard time to understand how MVC workswith in a 3-tier (Data Layer, Business Layer and Presentation Layer) architecture. Can we say that the Model, View and Controller are part of the Presentation Layer? Is the Model part of the Business Layer? In brief, how MVC and 3-tier architecture can work together? • ZF-Autoloader not working in UnitTests on Ubuntu

  i got a problem regarding Unit-testing a Zend-Framework application under Ubuntu 12.04. The project-structure is a default zend application whereas the models are defined as the following ./application ./models ./DbTable ./ProjectStatus.php (Application_Model_DbTable_ProjectStatus) ./Mappers ./ProjectStatus.php (Application_Model_Mapper_ProjectStatus) ./ProjectStatus.php (Application_Model_ProjectStatus) The Problem here is with the Zend-specific autoloading. The naming convention here appears that the folder Mappers loads all classes with _Mapper but not _Mappers. This is some internal Zend behavior which is fine so far. On my windows machine the phpunit runs without any Problems, trying to initiate all those classes. On my Ubuntu machine however with jenkins running on it, phpunit fails to find the appropriate classes giving me the following error Fatal error: Class 'Application_Model_Mapper_ProjectStatus' not found in /var/lib/jenkins/jobs/PAM/workspace/tests/application/models/Mapper/ProjectStatusTest.php on line 39 The error appears to really be that the Zend-Autoloader doesn't load from the ubuntu machine, but i can't figure out how or why this works. The question remains of why this is. I think i've double checked every point of contact with the zend autoloading stuff, but i just can't figure this out. I'll paste the - from my point of view relevant snippets - and hope someone of you has any insight to this. • Forcing Windows to re-scan for drivers

  As part of our software's installation, we install drivers for a required 3rd party hardware component. Currently it's up to the user to manually scan for their hardware's drivers once our installation is completed. Is there an easy way to get Windows to automatically look for the drivers we installed? If so, how does it work? Do we need to tell the OS for which hardware device we have drivers, or just that we have drivers in a certain location? Or can we just install the drivers to System32 folder and trigger a driver rescan?
