• Looping to provide multiple lines in linechart (django-googlecharts)

  Hi, I'm trying to generate some charts using django-googlecharts. This works fine for rather static data but in one case I would like to render a different number of lines, based on a variable. I tried this: {% chart %} {% for line in line_data %} {% chart-data line %} {% endfor %} {% chart-size "390x200" %} {% chart-type "line" %} {% chart-labels days %} {% endchart %} Line data is a list containing lists. The template code fails with "Caught an exception while rendering: max() arg is an empty sequence". I guess the problem is that I try to loop over templatetags. What approach could be used here? Or am I completely missing something? Is this doable using inclusion tags? Thanks for your help.

The appointment request is properly received to my mail box but the event is not automatically added to my calendar. I'm using Outlook 2007. • OTP or S/KEY - Conversion of Hex string into 6 readable words

  As seen in RFC2289 (S/KEY), there is a list of words that must be used when converting the hexadecimal string into a readable format. How would i go about doing so? The RFC mentions: The one-time password is therefore converted to, and accepted as, a sequence of six short (1 to 4 letter) English words. Each word is chosen from a dictionary of 2048 words; at 11 bits per word, all one-time passwords may be encoded. • SQLPlus - spooling to multiple files from PL/SQL blocks

  I have a query that returns a lot of data into a CSV file. So much, in fact, that Excel can't open it - there are too many rows. Is there a way to control spool to spool to a new file everytime 65000 rows have been processed? Ideally, I'd like to have my output in files named in sequence, such as large_data_1.csv, large_data_2.csv, large_data_3.csv, etc... I could use dbms_output in a PL/SQL block to control how many rows are output, but then how would I switch files, as spool does not seem to be accessible from PL/SQL blocks? (Oracle 10g)

• C++ Preprocessor string literal concatenation

  I found this regarding how the C preprocessor should handle string literal concatenation (phase 6). However, I can not find anything regarding how this is handled in C++ (does C++ use the C preprocessor?). The reason I ask is that I have the following: const char * Foo::encoding = "\0" "1234567890\0abcdefg"; where encoding is a static member of class Foo. Without the availability of concatenation I wouldnt be able to write that sequence of characters like that. const char * Foo::encoding = "\01234567890\0abcdefg"; Is something entirely different due to the way \012 is interpreted. I dont have access to multiple platforms and I'm curious how confident I should be that the above is always handled correctly - i.e. I will always get { 0, '1', '2', '3', ... }

• Using openssl encryption for Apple's HTTP Live Streaming

  Has anyone had any luck getting encrypted streaming to work with Apple's HTTP Live Streaming using openssl? • how many fps can iPhone's UIGetScreenImage() actually do?

  Now that Apple is officially allowing UIGetScreenImage() to be used in iPhone apps, I've seen a number of blogs saying that this "opens the floodgates" for video capture on iPhones, including older models. But I've also seen blogs that say the fastest frame rate they can get with UIGetScreenImage() is like 6 FPS. Can anyone share specific frame-rate results you've gotten with UIGetScreenImage() (or other approved APIs)? Does restricting the area of the screen captured improve frame rate significantly? Also, for the wishful thinking segment of today's program, does anyone have pointers to code/library that uses UIGetScreenImage() to capture video? For instance, I'd like an API something like Capture( int fps, Rect bounds, int durationMs ) that would turn on the camera and for the given duration record a sequence of .png files at the given frame rate, copying from the given screen rect.

• openvpn: after changing to server mode, client does not create TUN device

• Unique ID for MS Word 2007 paragraph

  I am writing large MS Word 2007 documents, which are often being changed. I have to number paragraphs with stationary unique numbers, that will not change while changing the documents. The numbers should be unique, and will not change even if previous numbers are deleted. The order of the list is not mandatory, and addition of a new number before existing numbers is possible (for instance: the sequence 1, 4, 3 means that paragraphs 1-3 were written, then #2 was deleted, then #5 was added. #3 was not affected by the later editing) The mechanism should be internal to the document, as I am working on line and off line. The numbers are allocated to every document individually. Since I don't know to program under MS Word, I'd appreciate getting a complete solution.

• Workflow Foundation 4 WorkflowServiceHost Message Correlation

  I have 2 methods on a workflow service hosted in WorkflowServiceHost. The first method is called and starts the regular workflow sequence - talking to other web services, database work etc but on some occassions will pause and persist to db (as-in the delay activity) and wait for some human action to take place before continuing. I need my second method to be able to hook into this persisted workflow, change a local variable and then continuing processing. I have looked at message based correlation in workflow but can only seem to find examples where some kind of infinite while loop keeps the workflow instance active so that the second service method call can arrive whilst it's still running. Because my workflow instance will be delayed/persisted, the second service call doesn't seem to get anywhere (I can't have an infinite while loop keeping the workflow instance active). • R regex to validate user input is correct.

  I'm trying to practice writing better code, so I wanted to validate my input sequence with regex to make sure that the first thing I get is a single letter A to H only, and the second is a number 1 to 12 only. I'm new to regex and not sure what the expression should look like. I'm also not sure what type of error R would throw if this is invalidated?   I like the apparent simplicity of JdbcTemplate but am a little confused as to how it works. It appears that each operation (query() or update()) fetches a connection from a datasource and closes it. Beautiful, but how do you perform multiple SQL queries within the same connection? I might want to perform multiple operations in sequence (for example SELECT followed by an INSERT followed by a commit) or I might want to perform nested queries (SELECT and then perform a second SELECT based on result of each row). How do I do that with JdbcTemplate. Am I using the right class?

• OpenCV: How to copy CvSeq data into CvMat?

  I have a CvSeq structure at hand, which is the output of an available OpenCV function. This holds 128 bytes of data in each of the sequence elements. I want to copy each of these 128-byte elements into rows of a CvMat structure to form a N-by-128 of type CV_32FC1. What would be the most efficient way to do this? I thought of using memcpy but I couldn't come up with a working solution. For the details, I want to calculate the SURF features in an image by cvExtractSURF() function, and copy the SURF descriptors into a matrix for passing it to the cvKMeans2().

• Switching from LinqToXYZ to LinqToObjects

I often use this pattern: collectionofsomestuff //here it's LinqToEntities .Select(something=>new{something.Name,something.SomeGuid}) .ToArray() //From here on it's LinqToObjects .Select(s=>new SelectListItem() { Text = s.Name, Value = s.SomeGuid.ToString(), Selected = false }) Perhaps I'd split it over a couple of lines, but essentially, at the ToArray point, I'm effectively enumerating my query and storing the resulting sequence so that I can further process it with all the goodness of a full CLR to hand. As I have no interest in any kind of manipulation of the intermediate list, I use ToArray over ToList as there's less overhead. I do this all the time, but I wonder if there is a better pattern for this kind of problem?

• Download HTML and Images with WGet without first few lines

  I'm attempting to use wget with the -p option to download specific documents and the images linked in the HTML. The problem is, the site that is hosting the HTML has some non-html information preceding the HTML. This is causing wget to not interpret the document as HTML and doesn't search for images. Is there a way to have wget strip the first X lines and/or force searching for images?   Hi! Where can I find information about common SIMD tricks? I have an instruction set and know, how to write non-tricky SIMD code, but I know, SIMD now is much more powerful. It can hold complex conditional branchless code. For example (ARMv6), the following sequence of instructions sets each byte of Rd equal to the unsigned minimum of the corresponding bytes of Ra and Rb: USUB8 Rd, Ra, Rb SEL Rd, Rb, Ra Links to tutorials / uncommon SIMD techniques are good too :) ARMv6 is the most interesting for me, but x86(SSE,...)/Neon(in ARMv7)/others are good too. • Running SQL script through psql gives syntax errors that don't occur in PgAdmin

  Hi I have the following script to create a table: -- Create State table. DROP TABLE IF EXISTS "State" CASCADE; CREATE TABLE "State" ( StateID SERIAL PRIMARY KEY NOT NULL, StateName VARCHAR(50) ); It runs fine in the query tool of PgAdmin. But when I try to run it from the command line using psql: psql -U postgres -d dbname -f 00101-CreateStateTable.sql I get a syntax error as shown below. 2: ERROR: syntax error at or near "" LINE 1: ^ psql:00101-CreateStateTable.sql:6: NOTICE: CREATE TABLE will create implicit sequence "State_stateid_seq" for serial column "State.stateid" psql:00101-CreateStateTable.sql:6: NOTICE: CREATE TABLE / PRIMARY KEY will create implicit index "State_pkey" for table "State" CREATE TABLE Why do I get a syntax error using psql and not with PGAdmin? • Invalid UTF-8 for Postgres, Perl thinks they're ok

  I'm running perl 5.10.0 and Postgres 8.4.3, and strings into a database, which is behind a DBIx::Class. These strings should be in UTF-8, and therefore my database is running in UTF-8. Unfortunatly some of these strings are bad, containing malformed UTF-8, so when I run it I'm getting an exception DBI Exception: DBD::Pg::st execute failed: ERROR: invalid byte sequence for encoding "UTF8": 0xb5 I thought that I could simply ignore the invalid ones, and worry about the malformed UTF-8 later, so using this code, it should flag & ignore the bad titles. if(not utf8::valid($title)){ $title="Invalid UTF-8"; } $data->title($title); $data->update(); However perl seems to think that the strings are valid, but it still throws the exceptions. How can I get perl to detect the bad UTF-8?

• Settings up a Mercurial server on IIS 6

  Hi, I've set up a Mercurial server on a Windows 2003 / IIS 6 machine and when I try to pull the repository I get the following sequence requesting all changes adding changesets adding manifests adding file changes transaction abort! rollback completed abort: premature EOF reading chunk (got 91303 bytes, expected 1542634) I've tried pretty much everything I can think of, but with no success. I followed the steps of Jeremy Skinners guide on doing it for IIS7, but on an IIS6 server. I found a post where the author was experiencing the same issue, but was unable to find a solution. So far it looks like the solution is to migrate to Apache or upgrade to Windows 2008/II7 .. but if someone knows how to solve this, please let me know

• Simple question - XSB Prolog

  Hello! I'm diving into the world of prolog headfirst but I seem to have hit shallow water! I'm looking at database manipulation in prolog with regards to this tutorial:Learn Prolog Now! It states that I can see my database by entering listing So i tried it and it should basically output everything in my .P file(facts, rules), but this is what i get, here are my sequence of commands: ? consult('D:\Prolog\testfile.P'). [testfile.P loaded] ? listing. library_directory(C:blahblahpathtoXSB) library_directory(C:blahblahXSBpath) {this is listed around 5 times)} shouldn't this command display what is in testfile.P, according to the tutorial? also, after consult testfile.P i should be ableto use assert to add more facts but it doesnt actually change anything in the testfile.P..? any ideas

However when the user enter some data in the input fields and then click the submit button, the model is not correctly updated and therefore the mergeInput() method creates a sequence of empty strings which is rendered on the same page. I have added some logging to the decode() method of my custom component and I can see that the parameters entered by the user are being posted back with the request, however these parameters are not used to update the data model. If I update the encodeBegin() method of my custom component as follow @Override public void encodeBegin(FacesContext context) throws IOException { super.encodeBegin(context); } and I update the test page as follow <test:MatrixTest id="tb" var="row" value="#{MyManagedBean.model}"> <h:column id="c0"><h:inputText id="t0" value="#{row[0]}"/></h:column> <h:column id="c1"><h:inputText id="t1" value="#{row[1]}"/></h:column> <h:column id="c2"><h:inputText id="t2" value="#{row[2]}"/></h:column> </test:MatrixTest> the page is correctly rendered and this time when the user enters data and submits the form, the underlying data model is correctly updated and the mergeInput() method creates a sequence of strings with the user data. Why does the test case with columns declared in the facelet page works correctly (ie the data model is correctly updated by JSF) where the same does not happen when the columns are created at runtime using the encodeBegin() method? Is there any method I need to invoke or interface I need to extend in order to ensure the data model is correctly updated? I am using this test case to address the issue that is appearing in a much more complex component, therefore I can't achieve the same functionality using a facelet composite component. Please note that this has been done using NetBeans 6.8, JRE 1.6.0u18, GlassFish 3.0. Thanks for your help.

• Properly using subprocess.PIPE in python?

  I'm trying to use subprocess.Popen to construct a sequence to grab the duration of a video file.
