    When Sun released Solaris 10, it was my first migration phase to a new Solaris major release while being part of Sun. At that time i heard a lot of comments between "Oh, we will install it on new systems on day 1" to "oh ... not that fast ... we will wait ... we are not that fast ... we will do it in a year". I would like to get some additional insight and so i set up the poll plugin for s9y to get the answer to the question "How long will you wait before using Solaris 11 on production system?".   • Juniper setup on 12.04

    I have a laptop with Windows XP and Ubuntu 12.04 (32 bits). Until now, I used Windows XP to connect to a Juniper VPN but now I'd like to try it with Linux. I read the mad scientist walkthrough (including the sun java part) but I can't run the setup. I get the popup that ask me if I'm sure I want to run the applet but then, nothing. mad-scientist says it's probably a C runtime lib problem and suggests to use his script with -nojava but he doesn't say how to install Network Connect in the first place. Any idea? Thanks for any suggestion! Laurian PS: I have: Ubuntu 12.04 32bits Java from Sun 1.6.0.32 Firefox 12 xterm (I think it was suggested somehwere)

Question visual link is : Design this application The approach that I told him: Firstly build whole person's data (contacts , place information and all) Then where you mark on the map, just build a cluster of that country using Hadoop and fire the message to all the person's contact comes in that cluster.   • Java Applet Deployment, ClassNotFoundException (primary class)

    This is driving me up the wall. I have checked and rechecked spelling and paths. I have tried just about every combination of paths, including relative, absolute, and full http paths. I continue to get the following error when trying to load a Java applet: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: AppletClient.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2ClassLoader.loadCode(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.createApplet(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: AppletClient.class The HTML used to load the applet: <applet width="100" height="100" archive="applet/myapplet.jar, applet/applet_dependency.jar" code="AppletClient.class"> <param value="blahblah" name="username"> <param value="false" name="codebase_lookup"> </applet> The applet is in a relative directory, "applet", from the path of the current page. I have unzipped the jar file and can see AppletClient.class. Also, in the source of the project, it is spelled that way (casing and all). I have tried with/without the parameters. I have changed the names of the archive jars in the applet include tag just to see if I get a different error for bad file names (same error). I have manually done GETs on the jars to make sure the server is responding to the requests (it is). I have tried with and without the codebase tag, with all different varieties of paths (start getting bad "magic number" errors on those). I know that this error sometimes pops up when a dependency fails to load, so it can be misleading, but all dependencies are present, accounted for, and are fetchable via manual GETs. Between each and every attempt I always clear my cache in FireFox. These problems are reproduced in IE8 and Chrome as well. Per my Java Console from the browser, I am running Java Plug-in 1.6.0_20. This is from the same machine that I develop the applet on, which runs fine via Eclipse. Finally, I kicked on Fiddler2, and I don't see a single request for the jar files anywhere The host site is running from my Visual Studio debugger, so it's running on localhost. But I see the requests for all the other resources on Fiddler. Just... no Jars. ANYWHERE. I clear the log, cleared my browser cache, and did a ctrl-R refresh. And still, not a single Jar request on the Fiddler log. I even did a delayed write (with JS) of the applet tag after the page loaded, once all the Fiddler activity slowed down. The element gets written to the document (and I can see the 100x100 Java error window), but not a single request shows up on Fiddler. Any suggestions, before I go crawl into the corner and cry myself to sleep? From my reading of the MySQL documentation, this seems like a reasonable complaint, especially in regards to the third bullet point on this doc page. Here's my question. Am I missing something in the DBIx::Class module? I realize that I could explicitly create the necessary index to match up with this foreign key constraint, but that seems to be repetitive work. Is there something I should be doing to make this occur implicitly?

    I have some issues with my graphics card and I want to disable Hardware Acceleration for java apps. Everything that uses HA is displayed blurry. I've seen some tutorials on how to set this parameter -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false The problem is that the Java Control panel itself is using hardware acceleration and I cannot see anything in order to add this parameter.   • red5 Install on Ubuntu 10.04? Problems with libslf4j

    I've been trying for many days to get Red5 to install on Ubuntu 10.04. I installed logback and libslf4j-java from aptitude and I see related files in my red5 lib directories. For example: /usr/share/red5/lib/slf4j-api-1.6.1.jar /usr/share/red5/lib/log4j-over-slf4j-1.6.1.jar /usr/share/red5/lib/logback-classic-0.9.26.jar /usr/share/red5/lib/logback-core-0.9.26.jar /usr/share/red5/lib/jcl-over-slf4j-1.6.1.jar /usr/share/red5/lib/jul-to-slf4j-1.6.1.jar And I set my classpath to /usr/share/red5/lib/ Any ideas on where to proceed from here? There seem to be a lot of people having trouble getting 10.04 and red5 0.9 working together. I've tried red5-0.9.1.tar.gz and red5_0.9.0-RC1_all.deb. The libraries above should be all that are needed according to Red5's documentation and I got the latest version of each.

  • Gluster bricks are offline and errors in logs

    I have substituted all the IP addresses with hostnames and renamed configs (IP to hostname) in /var/lib/glusterd by my shell script. After that I restarted Gluster Daemon and the volume. Then I checked if all the peers are connected: root@GlusterNode1a:~# gluster peer status Number of Peers: 3 Hostname: gluster-1b Uuid: 47f469e2-907a-4518-b6a4-f44878761fd2 State: Peer in Cluster (Connected) Hostname: gluster-2b Uuid: dc3a3ff7-9e30-44ac-9d15-00f9dab4d8b9 State: Peer in Cluster (Connected) Hostname: gluster-2a Uuid: 72405811-15a0-456b-86bb-1589058ff89b State: Peer in Cluster (Connected) I could see mounted volumes size change on all the nodes when I execute df command, so new data is coming.   • Xen guests accessing LUNs

    We are using RHEL5.3 with a Clarion SAN attached by FC. Our situation is that we have a number of LUNs presented to Hosts and we want to dynamically present the LUNs to Xen Guests. We are not sure on what the best practice approach is to set this up. The Xen guests will form a cluster together and need the LUNs only for data partitions, i.e. when they are actively running services. So one approach would be to always present all disks to all Xen guests, and then rely up on the cluster software, and mount itself, to not mount the disk twice in two locations. This sounds kinda risky and also is not very secure (one cracked guest can see/destroy all the data). Another approach would be to dynamically add and remove the disks from the Xen guests at the dom0 level (using xm block-attach). This could work but sounds slightly complicated, I'm wondering whether Red Hat Cluster Suite supports this in some way or whether there are scripts to do this. Yet another approach would be to have the LUNs endpointed at the Xen guests themselves - I'm not sure whether this is technically possible since the multipathing has to be done at the Host level.

  • MS SQL to MySQL using MySQL Migration Toolkit: permission issue

    I have a MS SQL imported into SQL Server 2008 from a .bak and I set it to Mixed mode. I have a SQL user (called "test") that can correctly access the database using SQL Server. I need to convert this to a MySQL database, so I got the MySQL Migration Toolkit. I pick "MS SQL Server" and then it asks for the hostname/username/password/database. I'm not 100% sure on these, but I used "localhost" (running on same computer), left the port as is (1433) and the username/password ("test") for the SQL Server. And I used the database name for the SQL Server database I'm looking to import. I clicked next, enter my MySQL database details and then attempt to run it and I get this error: Connecting to source database and retrieve schemata names. Initializing JDBC driver ...
