• Azure git deployment - missing references in 2nd assembly

  I'm trying to setup Bitbucket deployment to an Azure website. I successfully have Bitbucket and Azure linked, but when I push to Bitbucket, I get the following error on the Azure site: If I click on 'View Log', it shows the following compile errors: D:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Microsoft.Common.targets(1578,5): warning MSB3245: Could not resolve this reference.   EDIT: Added some of the output of the mvn -X -e commands at the end My company is developing a GWT application. We've been using maven 2 and GWT 1.7 successfully for quite a while. We recently decided to upgrade to GWT 2.0. We've already updated the eclipse project and we are able to successfully run the application in dev-mode. We are struggling to get the application built using maven though. I'm hoping somebody can tell me what I'm doing wrong here since I'm running out of time on this. • WPF Navigation Page Breadcrumb

  I found code to use a breadcrumb instead of the navigation buttons for my pages. This code works perfect with setting a page as the startup. My problem is that I need to have a window with a frame control as the startup and this is causing the breadcrumb to not show at all. I seem to be missing something with my styling. • Why wont a simple socket to the localhost connect?

  I am following a tutorial that teaches me how to use win32 sockets(winsock2). I am attempting to create a simple socket that connects to the "localhost" but my program is failing when I attempt to connect to the local host(at the function connect()). Do I need admin privileges to connect to the localhost? Maybe thats why it fails? Maybe theres a problem with my code? I have tried the ports 8888 & 8000 & they both fail. Also if I change the port to 80 & connect to www.google.com I can connect BUT I get no response back. Is that because I haven't sent a HTTP request or am I meant to get some response back? • Is Multicast broken for Android 2.0.1 (currently on the DROID) or am I missing something?

  This code works perfectly in Ubuntu, in Windows and MacOSX, it also works fine with a Nexus-One currently running firmware 2.1.1. I start sending and listening multicast datagrams, and all the computers and the Nexus-One will see each other perfectly. Then I run the same code on a Droid (Firmware 2.0.1), and everybody will get the packets sent by the Droid, but the droid will listen only to it's own packets. This is the run() method of a thread that's constantly listening on a Multicast group for incoming packets sent to that group. I'm running my tests on a local network where I have multicast support enabled in the router. • WCF Contract Name 'IMyService' could not be found?

  The contract name 'IMyService' could not be found in the list of contracts implemented by the service 'MyService'.. --- System.InvalidOperationException: The contract name 'IMyService' could not be found in the list of contracts implemented by the service 'MyService'. This is driving me crazy. I have a WCF web service that works on my dev machine, but when I copy it to a Virtual Machine that I am using for testing, I get the error that seems to indicate that I am not implementing the interface, but it does not make sense because the service does work on my windows xp IIS. the Virtual machine uses Windows Server 2003 IIS. Any ideas? One thing to note here is that I get this error on my VM even while just trying to access the service in a web browser as the client. Note: I am using principalPermissionMode="UseWindowsGroups", but that is not a problem on my local machine. I just add myself to the appropriate windows group. • Strange WCF Error - IIS hosted - context being aborted

  I have a WCF service that does some document conversions and returns the document to the caller. When developing locally on my local dev server, the service is hosted on ASP.NET Development server, a console application invokes the operation and executes within seconds. When I host the service in IIS via a .svc file, two of the documents work correctly, the third one bombs out, it begins to construct the word document using the OpenXml Sdk, but then just dies. I think this has something to do with IIS, but I cannot put my finger on it. There are a total of three types of documents I generate. In a nutshell this is how it works SQL 2005 DB/IBM DB2 - WCF Service written by other developer to expose data. This service only has one endpoint using basicHttpBinding My Service invokes his service, gets the relevant data, uses the Open Xml Sdk to generate a Microsoft Word Document, saves it on a server and returns the path to the user. The word documents are no bigger than 100KB. I am also using basicHttpBinding although I have tried wsHttpBinding with the same results. What is amazing is how fast it is locally, and even more that two of the documents generate just fine, its the third document type that refuses to work. To the error message: An error occured while receiving the HTTP Response to http://myservername.mydomain.inc/MyService/Service.Svc. This could be due to the service endpoint binding not using the HTTP Protocol. This could also be due to an HTTP request context being aborted by the server (possibly due to the server shutting down). See server logs for more details. I have spent the last 2 days trying to figure out what is going on, I have tried everything, including changing the maxReceivedMessageSize, maxBufferSize, maxBufferPoolSize, etc etc to large values, I even included: <httpRuntime maxRequestLength="2097151" executionTimeout="120"/> To see maybe if IIS was choking because of that. Programatically the service does nothing special, it just constructs the word documents from the data using the Open Xml Sdk and like I said, locally all 3 documents work when invoked via a console app running locally on the asp.net dev server, i.e. http://localhost:3332/myService.svc When I host it on IIS and I try to get a Windows Forms application to invoke it, I get the error. I know you will ask for logs, so yes I have logging enabled on my Host. And there is no error in the logs, I am logging everything. Basically I invoke two service operations written by another developer. MyOperation calls - HisOperation1 and then HisOperation2, both of those calls give me complex types. I am going to look at his code tomorrow, because he is using LINQ2SQL and there may be some funny business going on there. He is using a variety of collections etc, but the fact that I can run the exact same document, lets call it "Document 3" within seconds when the service is being hosted locally on ASP WebDev Server is what is most odd, why would it run on scaled down Cassini and blow up on IIS? From the log it seems, after calling HisOperation1 and HisOperation2 the service just goes into la-la land dies, there is a application pool (w3wp.exe) error in the Windows Event Log. Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 6.0.3790.1830, stamp 42435be1, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.3311, stamp 49c5225e, debug? 0, fault address 0x00015dfa. It's classified as .NET 2.0 Runtime error. Any help is appreciated, the lack of sleep is getting to me. Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

I have set the server and the client on the same machine (for now), win7-x64. • Audio Recording with Appcelerator on Android

  I would like to record audio and then send the file to a webserver. I am using Titanium 1.8.2 on Win7. The application I am woring on is both for Android and iphone and I do realise that Titanium.Media.AudioRecorder and Titanium.Media.AudioPlayer are for these purpose. Let's concentrate on android for a while. On that platform you can achieve audio recording by creating an intent and then you handle the file in your application. See more here. This implementation has a couple of drawbacks: You cannot stay in your application (as a native audio recorder will start up) You only get back an uri from the recorder and not the actual file. Another implementation is done by Codeboxed. This module is for recording an audio without using intents. The only problem that I could not get this working (along with other people) and the codeboxed team does not respond to anyone since last year. So my question is: Do you know how to record audio on android without using an intent? Thanks in advance. Edit: My problem with codeboxed's module: I downloaded the module from here. I copied the zip file into my project directory. • Installing Rails, MySQL, etc. everything goes wrong

  I've been struggling with this for a few hours. Everything just stopped working and I can't get it to work anymore. I'm a noob at Ruby, Ruby on Rails and the Terminal in general. This is really frustrating me so I just try to describe my problem as detailed as possible hoping someone can give me a solution. I'm on Mac OS X Snow Leopard. I couldn't get Rails working at all just now: Could not find gem 'rails' headaches But after some tries of reinstalling it, it suddenly worked again. But now I just can't get MySQL to work, and it sometimes even breaks the Rails installation again. This is what I do: sudo gem uninstall rails sudo gem uninstall mysql sudo gem uninstall mysql2 After these commands, I check the installed gems with gem list. No MySQL gem is listed anymore, but I can still see rails (2.3.5, 2.2.2, 1.2.6) . Is this normal? Does this mean I have 3 Rails installations? It doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, then I do this: sudo gem clean Which fails completely. I get a bunch of errors like this: Attempting to uninstall fcgi-0.8.7 Unable to uninstall fcgi-0.8.7: Gem::InstallError: cannot uninstall, check gem list -d fcgi It doesn't uninstall anything. At this point, I try to install everything again. I start with: sudo gem install rails Which succeeds (I think): Successfully installed rails-3.0.3 Successfully installed builder-2.1.2 2 gems installed Installing ri documentation for rails-3.0.3... File not found: lib Then, I update RubyGems: sudo gem update --system sudo gem install rubygems-update sudo update_rubygems Then it says I have 1.3.7 installed, so it succeeded, I think. So now I proceed with installing MySQL. I already got MySQL 5.5.8 installed on my machine. I did some research about installing MySQL on Snow Leopard, and it seems I have to use this command: sudo env ARCHFLAGS="-arch x86_64" gem install mysql -- --with-mysql-config=/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_config I get a bunch of errors like this: No definition for time_set_neg No definition for time_set_second_part No definition for time_equal No definition for error_errno At this point, I assume I got both Rails and the MySQL gem installed, so I try to start a new project. rails new user_group -d mysql It works! Rails is installed correctly. Now, I try generating a model. cd user_group rails generate model User It fails with this error: Could not find gem 'mysql2 (= 0, runtime)' in any of the gem sources listed in your Gemfile. Try running bundle install. So I try running bundle install. It installs a lot of gems. Then I try to generate my model again. • ASP.NET Membership API not working on Win2008 server/IIS7

  I have a very odd problem. I have a web app that uses the .NET Membership API to provide login functionality. This works fine on my local dev machine, using WebDev 4.0 server. I'm using .NET 4.0 with some URL Rewriting, but not on the pages where login is required. I have a Windows Server 2008 with IIS7 However, the Membership API seemingly does not work on the server. I have set up remote debugging and the LoginUser.LoggedIn event of the LoginUser control gets fired okay, but the MembershipUser is null. I get no answer about the username/password being invalid so it seems to be recognising it. If I enter an invalid username/password, I get an invalid username/password response.   I have a query that is returning in vastly different amounts of time between 2 datasets. For one set (database A) it returns in a few seconds, for the other (database B)....well I haven't waited long enough yet, but over 10 minutes. I have dumped both of these databases to my local machine where I can reproduce the issue running MySQL 5.1.37. Curiously, database B is smaller than database A. Database A also has this state but for only a second or so. There are no differences in the table structure, indexes, keys etc between these databases (I have done show create tables and diff'd them). The sizes of the tables are: database A: po_shipment 1776 po_shipment_item 1945 po_alloc 36298 po_header 71642 EVENT_TABLE 1608 database B: po_shipment 463 po_shipment_item 470 po_alloc 3291 po_header 56149 EVENT_TABLE 1089 Some points to note: Removing the WHERE clause makes the query return < 1 sec. Removing the GROUP BY makes the query return < 1 sec. Removing ev5, ev4, ev3 etc makes the query get faster for each one removed. Can anyone suggest how to resolve this issue? What have I missed? • Android: Custom ListAdapter extending BaseAdapter crashes on application launch.

  Data being pulled from a local DB, then mapped using a cursor. Custom Adapter displays data similar to a ListView. As items are added/deleted from the DB, the adapter is supposed to refresh. The solution attempted below crashes the application at launch. Any suggestions?   Hi, I have an RMI client/server set-up on two machines that works fine in a simple situation when the server doesn't require a client-side defned class. However, when I need to use a class defined on the client side I am unable to have the server unmarshall those classes. I suspect this is an issue with my java.rmi.server.codebase property that I pass in as argument to the client app. I followed Sun's RMI Tutorial trail and I think I have followed the steps exactly except that I don't specify a classpath argument when executing client and server because they execute in the directory right above the root package directory (however I tried that too with no effect). Other notes: 1 my server and client policy files correctly specify the path, as I've tested this setup with good and bad paths, and getting a security exception for bad path 2 this setup works if I don't use client-side defined objects, the client connects correctly to the server and the server executes. 3 when I place the client-side class on the server in the server's classpath, all executes fine. Which doesn't really work for what I want to do. My main issue is the decoupling of the OnDataReceived method from the Wait for data method. which means I'm having issues building a string (I would use a string builder but I can accept multiple connections so that doesn't really work. Ideally I'd like to look while listening to a socket until I see and end of line character and then call a method with the resulting string as a parameter. What's the best way to go about doing this.

• I'm trying to run some PHP scripts as CLI instead of over HTTP. How do I make them play nice?

  Hi everyone. I'm using some PHP scripts from FeedForAll to join together RSS feeds (RSSmesh) and display them as HTML (RSS2HTML). Because I intend to run these scripts fairly intensively and don't want the resulting HTTP requests and bandwidth to count towards my hosting quota, I am in the process of moving to running them on the web host's server in an umbrella PHP "batch" script, and call this script via cron (this is a Linux server, by the way). Here's a (working) sample request over HTTP: http://www.mydomain.com/a/rss2htmlcore/rss2html2.php?XMLFILE=http://www.mydomain.com/a/myapp/xmlcache/feed.xml&TEMPLATE=template.html This will produce the desired HTML output. An example of how I want this to work on the command line: /srv/customers/mycustomer#/mydomain.com/www/a/rss2htmlcore/rss2html2-cli.php /srv/customers/mycustomer#/mydomain.com/www/a/myapp/xmlcache/feed.xml /srv/customers/mycustomer#/mydomain.com/www/a/template.html This is with the correct shebang line added to "rss2html2-cli.php". I could just as well specify the executable ("/usr/local/bin/php") in the request, I doubt it makes a difference because I am able to run another script (that I wrote myself) either way without problems. Now, RSS2HTML and RSSmesh are different in that, for starters, they include secondary files -- for example, both include an XML parser script -- and I suspect that this is where I am getting a bit in over my head. Right now I'm calling exec() from the "umbrella" batch script, like so: exec("/srv/customers/mycustomer#/mydomain.com/www/a/rss2htmlcore/rss2html2-cli.php /srv/customers/mycustomer#/mydomain.com/www/a/myapp/xmlcache/feed.xml /srv/customers/mycustomer#/mydomain.com/www/a/template.html", $output) But no output is being produced. What's the best way to go about this and what "gotchas" should I keep in mind? Is exec() the right way to approach this? It works fine for the other (simple) script but that writes its own output. For this I want to get the output and write it to a file from within the umbrella script if possible. I've also tried output buffering but to no avail. Do I need to pay attention to anything specific with regard to the includes? Right now they're specified in the scripts as include_once("FeedForAll_XMLParser.inc.php"); and the specified files are indeed in the same folder. Further info: -This is a Linux server. -I have no direct access to the shell, so I can't test things directly on a command line, everything is via crontab. -I will admit that support for the FeedForAll scripts leaves a lot to be desired, but I'd like to keep using their scripts if at all possible, if only because I know them and have been using them for a while. I have looked into Simplepie, but the FFA scripts do some things that I've seen no obvious solutions for with Simplepie, like limiting the number of items per individual feed (RSSmesh) or limiting the description length (RSS2HTML). -Yahoo! Pipes is out, they cache their data for too long for my application. Should you want to take a look at the code, here are the scripts as txt files. RSS2HTML2 and RSSmesh are the FeedForAll scripts, FeedForAll_XMLParser... is the included parser. Note that I have not yet amended these to handle $argv etc. I have however in "scraper-universal-rss-cli", which works fine with CLI. If anyone has any thoughts to share on this it would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

• Maven/Spring/Java: ClassNotFoundException - but I know class is there...

  I have 2 maven projects set up like this: -com.wuntee.rsaAuthenticationManager (jar) -com.wuntee.taac (pom) --taac-backend-gui (jar) --taac-web (war) And 'com.wuntee.rsaAuthenticationManager' is a dep in 'taac-backend-gui'. When running a test case in taac-backend-gui, everything executes fine, but when trying to start the taac-web, I get the following ClassNotFoundException - the library that contains the class 'weblogic.security.SSL.TrustManager' is also in my local maven repository, and set as a dependency of com.wuntee.rsaAuthenticationManager. Does anyone know why I would be getting this error? I have also attempted to directly add the library containing TrustManager to the taac-web project, and still get the same Exception. Any ideas? • Push Trunk or Push Branch to Production

  I'd like to get an idea of some processes on build process with Tortoise SVN. Primarily I'm wondering do you push: The Mainline Trunk A branch after QA has grabbed it into a working copy locally and tested the branch and then some build pushes that branch The problem I have is I work at a craphole (hey, it is what it is and I'm venting on stackoverflow, you better believe it..good way to relieve stress due to complete utter chaos) and we have no formal process for pushing anything. In fact even worse my boss directly codes against production. When I have changes, he pushes the mainline trunk. The problem becomes when I make database changes on our Dev database for lets say Branch A. Well...that breaks Branch B and C. I have like 4 projects going on at once! Why? Well, I will not get into that (chaos). So consequently I rename a table field, or add a field or whatever in SQL Server and walla, now my other branches have stale code pointing to previous field names. So what happens? I have to merge certain changes to this branch, to that branch, etc. It feels like a war zone. Finally, what happens is I try to only merge the minimum. Lets say I made DB changes for Branch A's code but now I had to jump back on Branch B's project. Well I need to merge "some" of A's changes over for those database changes so that B's code is not going to bomb out and is able to work with the new table changes. Finally boss pushes the mainline trunk to production. Now I get an email "you forgot to remove the hyperlink for this". That hyperlink was actually a feature I added in Branch A. But what he's talking about here is he just pushed the mainline trunk to production which now has my merged changes from Branch B and any database scripts for Branch A because remember I had some DB changes and if he pushes code, it's got to reflect those changes thus some partial database changes must also be pushed even if it's not related to this project. Well...I missed the hyperlink, so kill me. Maybe that's why we need a build process boss? (sorry, it's been a nightmare working here which is why this thread is getting so detailed). Anyway, obviously this is a nightmare. And he dictates almost everything. The only reason we have source control is because I've worked on hard core teams and that's the first thing you setup. Well there was none here. Problem is I can't dictate the structure..he does but he's never really used source control!! My God. So we have no QA. This is an e-commerce website. That's another huge issue. So consequently I'm expected to be perfect. That means mainline trunk needs to be perfect for whatever we're pushing, whatever branch feature. Is this luda? wtf do I do? I could go off on him after tying so many times tactfully to explain that we need a freakin build process (not just copy local mainline trunk to production!) but I've tried to push before and got yelled at. So I gave up on that. So it will help me tremendously to know how others are pushing their source from Tortoise to production. I was not the person pushing when I was on previous teams so really I'm not too versed in build processes. We are a fairly good size e-commerce site and get a couple millions hits a month.
