  • How can I add HTTP request caching to an application using ASIHTTPRequests?

    I'm using ASIHttpRequests and an ASINetworkQueue in an iphone app to retrieve some 100k XML files and a lot of thumbnails from a web service. I'd like to cache the requests in the style of NSURLCache. ASI doesn't seem to support caching as is, and I looked at the code and it drops to C to create the requests, so inserting the NSURLCache layer seemed tricky. What's the best way to implement this?

  • Why don't all XSLT templates get executed at once?

    Refer to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1613454/retrieving-one-element-and-filter-by-another In the above linked posting, I don't understand why the two template blocks don't get executed upon in the incoming XML at the same time. As far I can can see, the XSL risks the second template executing for every Document element whether it is called with apply-templates or not. Could someone explain this to my stifled brain, please?     I have a property field in a class that is of type javax.xml.datatype.Duration. It basically represents a time span (e.g. 4 hours and 34 minutes). JPA is telling me it is an invalid type, which doesn't shock me. Whats a good solution this? I could implement my own Duration class, but I don't know how to get JPA to "accept" it as a datatype.

    I'm using C# and I'm stumped. Does it just not support id()? I have a large XML file, about 4-5 of them at ~400kb, so I need some speed and performance wherever I can get it. I use XmlDocument.SelectSingleNode("id('blahblahblah')") and it doesn't get the node by id. Am I going crazy or is it that C# XPath just doesn't support id()?

Here's what I'm doing with the skins, I have a folder which contains some images and a xml file which maps the images to the keyboard, I want to be able to have the folder as a zip file like in Office 2007 (.docx) and iPhone firmwares (.ipsw), I know I can simply zip the folder and change the extension, what I need to know is how to read the files in the code.   • Android spinner inside a custom control - OnItemSelectedListener does not trigger

    I am writing a custom control that extends LinearLayout. Inside that control I am using a spinner to let the user select an item from a list. The problem I have is that the OnItemSelectedListener event does not fire. When moving the same code to an Activity/Fragment all is working just fine. I have followed some answers that was given to others asking about the same issue, and nothing helped. still the event does not fire. This is my code after I followed the answers that suggested to put the spinner inside my layout XML instead of by code. How do I initialise the class? There is no "Invoke" button either.
