    I'm trying to get a completely custom Dialog or PopupWindow, without any of the default Android UI controls (title, background, buttons, whatever). Is this possible at all? I've spent hours searching for this, but no luck... It seems like this should be easily possible, but I can't find it.     I have 4 reasonably complex r scripts that are used to manipulate csv and xml files. These were created by another department where they work exclusively in r. My understanding is that while r is very fast when dealing with data, it's not really optimised for file manipulation. Can I expect to get significant speed increases by converting these scripts to python? Or is this something of a waste of time?

    Hi, I've got a web page with a jqGrid that uses am xmlreader to populate itself with data that is spat out by a RoR service. The page loads fine in firefox and safari. In Chrome however I get a blank grid.   • Refactored App Engine project - now Eclipse is infinitely building the project without end

    I renamed some files in my App Engine project and refactored code, changing references to variables. Everything seemed fine until I changed the references in the web.xml for the project. Then I got a complaint about some error with the DataNucleus enhancer and now the project build process is stuck at 22%. I tried stopping Eclipse and restarting but the build process keeps hanging. Any tips on how to clean out whatever it's getting stuck on?

Shortly put, it's a routine in a MP3 tagging application that takes a track title and an artist and queries Last.FM for the corresponding album, track no and genre.     I have a few repository classes that are meant to talk to different kinds of data, deriving from an IRepository interface laid out like so: In implementations, the code talks to a data source, be this a directory of XML files or a database or even just a cache. Is it possible to reliably unit test any of these implementations? I don't see a mock implementation working, because then I'm only testing the mock code and not the actual code.

    I'm trying to localize a Windows 8 Metro style app as described in a guide on MSDN. This worked very well so far, but now I'm trying to localize a string containing a non-breaking space which appears in a XAML file (originally as hexadecimal xml-escaped string: &#x00a0). Just putting the above string into the Resources.resw file does not work, it appears just as &#x00a0. What do I have to do to get a non-breaking space in my localizations?
