• FLEX: customized tag Cloud, how to compute positioning and distances

  hi, I want to build a tag cloud like this one in my Flex application. See image: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/72686/tagCloud.png At the moment I have the tags (that are mx.controls.LinkButtons) added at the same position and having different sizes according to values (stored in an ArrayComponent). In my visualization, the orange tags are supposed to be listed vertically in the middle. The gray tags should be at different distances (according to stored numeric values). I want to avoid overlapping and cluttering. How do you suggest to compute x and y of the gray tags taking care about: the distances from orange tags avoid overlapping between them thanks

• Execute a PyQt app from an acpi event in linux

  Hi, I want to use a PyQt application to display an image when some acpi event is triggered under linux. I already setting up the configuration for the event and the python scrip is executed when the event is triggered, but when program reach the creation of the QApplication app = QApplication(sys.argv) it stops without error. I tried setting up the same DISPLAY and PATH environment variables as my current user but it doesn't work. This is my event file: event=sony/hotkey SNC 00000001 00000011 action=/etc/acpi/vaio-tools/brightness/sonybright.sh up 2>&1>/tmp/vaio-tools_brightness.log I tried to find some error in the /tmp/vaio-tools_brightness.log but it doesn't log anything after it reach the QApp creation in code. any hints??

• vb.net array for slideshow button

  Hey all, i am in the middle of trying to figure out how to go about doing this... I have a form that i call like so: call frmSlideShow.showWhat(1,4,8,9,11,22) Each of the numbers represents a different image slide (slide1.png, slide4.png, etc..). The problem i am having is trying to create a "previous" and "next" button to flip through them all. Trying to figure out what number the user is on and going from there and seeing what numbers are still left from the list above that was sent, etc. If anyone has an idea how i would go about doing that then that would be awesome! :) David

• PHP getimagesize with ampersand in string creates errors

  I'm using the getimagesize function in PHP, and the path string contains an ampersand, which otherwise is fine. The page gives me errors where getimagesize() is called. Looking at the source code, though, I see the ampersand is being passed through as & rather than just & I presume this is causing errors because PHP doesn't need to convert it to the html tag in order to find the path, right? Here is the error: Warning: getimagesize(image.php?name=username&pic=picture) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory

• google maps everytime fails to place some markers on the map

  hello! im trying to place like 130/140 markers on a custom google map. i inject the map with jquery and gmaps (http://gmap.nurtext.de/) everytime, at random (not related to specific markers) a lots of markers are not shown. firebug report this error: a is null and this error comes from this file: http://maps.gstatic.com/intl/it_ALL/mapfiles/285c/maps2.api/main.js if i refresh the page...some other markers are "hidden" and other ones are shown. anyone had this problem/can help me or suggest another safe way to show all markers? thanks a lot! • R: Creating Custom Shapes with ggplot

  Full Disclosure: This was also posted to the ggplot2 mailing list. (I'll update if I receive a response) I'm a bit lost on this one, I've tried messing around with geom_polygon but successive attempts seem worse than the previous. The image that I'm trying to recreate is this, the colours are unimportant, but the positions are: In addition to creating this, I also need to be able to label each element with text. At this point, I'm not expecting a solution (although that would be ideal) but pointers or similar examples would be immensely helpful. One option that I played with was hacking scale_shape and using 1,1 as coords. But was stuck with being able to add labels. The reason I'm doing this with ggplot, is because I'm generating scorecards on a company by company basis. This is only one plot in a 4 x 10 grid of other plots (using pushViewport) Note: The top tier of the pyramid could also be a rectangle of similar size.

• Loading all files in a directory in a Java applet

  How would one go about programatically loading all the resource files in a given directory in a JAR file for an applet? The resources will probably change several times over the lifetime of the program so I don't want to hardcode names in. Normally I would just traverse the directory structure using File.list(), but I get permission issues when trying to do that within an applet. I also looked at using an enumeration with something line ClassLoader.getResources() but it only finds files of the same name within the JAR file. Essentially what I want to do is (something like) this: ClassLoader imagesURL = this.getClass().getClassLoader(); MediaTracker tracker = new MediaTracker(this); Enumeration<URL> images = imagesURL.getResources("resources/images/image*.gif"); while (images.hasMoreElements()){ tracker.add(getImage(images.nextElement(), i); i++; } I know I'm probably missing some obvious function, but I've spent hours searching through tutorials and documentation for a simple way to do this within an unsigned applet.

Now when i browse the directory by browser then the codeigniter’s not found page displays. I can’t browser the file /assets/image.jpg but it displays when i call it from an tag What can i do now? • Tinting iPhone application screen red

  I'm trying to place a red tint on all the screens of my iPhone application. I've experimented on a bitmap and found I get the effect I want by compositing a dark red color onto the screen image using Multiply (kCGBlendModeMultiply). So the question is how to efficiently do this in real time on the iPhone? One dumb way might be to grab a bitmap of the current screen, composite into the bitmap and then write the composited bitmap back to the screen. This seems like it would almost certainly be too slow. In addition, I need some way of knowing when part of the screen has been redrawn so I can update the tinting. I can almost get the effect I want by putting a red, translucent, fullscreen UIView above everything. That tints everything red within further intervention on my part, but the effect is much "muddier" than results from the composite. So do any wizards out there know of some mechanism I can use to automatically composite the red over the app in similar fashion to what the translucent red UIView does?

  Hi, Currently on my application I have a form where I ask the user to upload an image file to be used as a logo. I want to allow the user to reset that to nothing by supplying no file (by just pressing the upload button from the browser). In this scenario the only thing left is to suspend file validation when no file is included. Currently I get the *self::NO_FILE* error from the *Zend_Validate_File_Upload* class. Is there any way to suspend the validation so that nothing will be checked if no file has been provided?

• margin between content and div overflow scrollbar

  I am using the following bits of code to keep my menu items fixed while allowing for the scrolling of content because it seems to be the most stable method across all browsers. body { overflow: hidden; } div.content { height: 100%; overflow: auto; } My problem is simple, and yet I can not seem to figure it out, the content inside the tag butts up against the scrollbar for the div area and it makes reading much more difficult. How can I get a margin between them (apart from floating a transparent image to the right to create space, there HAS to be a better way)?

  Hi, I see many post dealing with the UIScrollView like in the PhotoApp, but I don't really understand them, thats why I want to reopen a post about it and have a simple solution. What I want is to create (without IB) a simple UIViewController who will contain a UIScrollView (inside my scrollView there will be image and the scrollView will be set to pagingEnable to YES of course). I want to be able with a simple touch of the screen to display the navigationController.navigationBar inside my UIViewController and with another touch not displaying it of course. • Extra blank page when converting HTML to PDF using abcPDF

  I have an HTML report, with each print page contained by a <div class="page">. The page class is defined as width: 180mm; height: 250mm; page-break-after: always; background-position: centre top; background-image: url(Images/MainBanner.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; padding-top: 30mm; After making a few changes to my report content, when I call abcPDF to convert the report to PDF, suddenly I'm getting a blank page inserted after every real report page. I don't want to roll back the changes I've just made to remove this problem, so I'm hoping someone may know why the extra pages are being inserted.

There are a few different 3rd party code frameworks that include calendar controls, but most of them have a lot of functionality I don't need, plus most of them lack sufficient documentation on how to use them and I'm not a proficient enough iPhone developer figure it out using just the code. So I'm going to attempt to build my own and I was hoping you could provide me with some high-level direction to get started. At a high level, how could I build a simple, calendar control that doesn't do much more than display a calendar (month view, with the current date highlighted) and allows the user to selected a date? Something that looks like the calendar in the upper right corner of this image... Thanks so much in advance for your help!

• ImageMagick: Tiff to PDF from PHP

  How can I convert 2 tiff images to PDF, I already knows how to get the image out of the DB, and I print it using echo and setting up the MIME type. But, right know I need to use a duplex printer option, so I need a way to generate a PDF from inside my PHP page, that PDF must containt both TIFF images (one per page) How can I do that? What do I need for php to work with that library. Thank you very much. EDIT: Is a self hosted app, I own the server (actually I'm using WAMP 2). I extract the images from the MySQL DB (stored using LONGBLOBS).

• jQuery event.layerX/Y is not relative to the element that triggered the event, is that correct?

  If I use for example a mousemove event handler on a div and check the layerX property of the event, it changes when my mouse enters a positioned element inside that div (like an image). According to the jQuery Event object documentation it should follow the W3C DOM Level 3 specifications. But there's no mention of the layerX/Y property for the MouseEvent interface, so I'm wondering what behavior is according to specification? To me it seems that you always want the layerX/Y to be relative to the layer that fires the event, if I wanted the layerX/Y of a nested element, I would check the event in a different phase (bubbling) or would attach my handler to that nested element. My question is (somewhat subjective): how should layerX/Y work?

• Print Several Outlook MailItems

  I have a pst that has a bunch of emails I want to print using the Microsoft Document Image Writer so that I have a folder, //lawyers/ediscovery/emails/ that has 00001.tiff 00002.tiff etc. In Word or Excel, I can pass the Workbook or Document a filepath to the PrintOut method, but the Outlook MailItem interop's PrintOut doesn't take any arguments, instead only uses the default printer's attributies. I don't have time to type the Bates number for every email (thousands to tens of thousands). Any help on how to tell Outlook where to print to?

• URL Rewrite in htaccess problem

  Am rather new to this world of htaccess redirects.Am trying to force all redirects in my Zend MVC to my https but I get a requested URL not found error on requests that dont go though the index controller Example https://www.example.com/auth/register gives a requested URL /auth/register not found error. However if I remove the https redirect rule it works fine over http. If I adjust the URL to https://www.example.com/index.php/auth/register it works fine. The URL https://www.example.com/index/faq works just fine since it goes through the index controller. • Using images and css file for a generated HTML UIWebView

  Hi! I'm generating an HTML file for an app, and in this HTML file there's a link to a stylesheet and one to an image. Here's what I tried so far: NSMutableString *toReturn = [NSMutableString stringWithCapacity:100]; NSString *cssPath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"etapes.css" ofType:nil]; [toReturn appendFormat:@"<html><head><title></title><link href=\"%@\" media=\"all\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\" /></head><body>", cssPath]; It generates the right full path to the right file, this is okay if I want to access it on my mac, but on the simulator or my iPhone it doesn't point to the right place at all... See: http://tinyurl.com/ylbtns2 The editor uses the css of the current template and loads an additional fix.css (inside the iframe) to override some rules: * { background-image: none !important; min-height: 0px !important; } #breadcrumbs, #content .sidebar, #footer, #header, #search_form { display: none; } #content { margin: 0px; width: 100%; } The problem: on first load the "min-height: 0px !important;" seems not to work - on second load the height of the editor iframe is 100px like it should be. Other rules like no background (fix.css) are working on first load and get overridden.
