• Interfacing Android Nexus One with Arduino + BlueSmirf

  I'm a bit new to all of this, so bear with me - I'd really appreciate your help. I am trying to link the Android Nexus One with an arduino (Duemilanove) that is connected to a BlueSmirf. I have a program that is simply outputting the string "Hello Bluetooth" to whatever device the BlueSmirf is connected to. The trouble is with my android code. I can connect to the device with android, but when I look at the log it is not displaying "Hello Bluetooth". • sharepoint search is not working

  Hi all, I have an issue with SharePoint search. The situation The server is installed with SharePoint on a farm with 2 servers. A new app pool is created and that app pool is using a domain account called moss_service. moss_service is set to be in the administrator group in both server. moss_service is also set to be the db_creator in the content database. When I checked it initially, the search's default content access account is using another different account, I changed that to be using moss_service account. I didn't do IIS reset because this is a production server, they dont want frequent iis reset. Strangely, checking the services.msc under "office sharepoint server search" the account is still using an old one. (and apparently it's only running on 1 server, the other server is not running) I then change that to the following: domain\moss_service with the password. and then I rerun the crawl. How do I diagnose the issue Basically everytime I change something I restart the crawl and then check the event viewer. Multiple things come out but the following is the major ones: The start address cannot be crawled. The password for the content access account cannot be decrypted because it was stored with different credentials. Re-type the password for the account used to crawl this content. (0x80042406) Performance monitoring cannot be initialized for the gatherer object, because the counters are not loaded or the shared memory object cannot be opened. This only affects availability of the perfmon counters. Restart the computer. Access is denied. Check that the Default Content Access Account has access to this content, or add a crawl rule to crawl this content. (0x80041205) Crawl Logs Result The crawl log is showing this: The password for the content access account cannot be decrypted because it was stored with different credentials. Re-type the password for the account used to crawl this content. I tried changing it again at service.mstsc and the rerun the full crawl again but then it doesn't work. I have tried entering it using the following way: [email protected] and domain\moss_service My Questions are: How do I fix this? Is this the right way to setup the search? Does the search account has to be using a different domain account? Seemed like one fix complicates the other, how do I set this right? Is it worth it to upgrade to sp2?

  I'm getting NoPrimaryKeyException when I try to run one of my unit tests which uses DBUnit. The datatable is created using Hibernate and is a join table between two classes mapping a many to many relationship. • How can I do something ~after~ an event has fired in C#?

  I'm using the following project to handle global keyboard and mouse hooking in my C# application. This project is basically a wrapper around the Win API call SetWindowsHookEx using either the WH_MOUSE_LL or WH_KEYBOARD_LL constants. It also manages certain state and generally makes this kind of hooking pretty pain free. I'm using this for a mouse gesture recognition software I'm working on. Basically, I have it setup so it detects when a global hotkey is pressed down (say CTRL), then the user moves the mouse in the shape of a pre-defined gesture and then releases global hotkey. The event for the KeyDown is processed and tells my program to start recording the mouse locations until it receives the KeyUp event. This is working fine and it allows an easy way for users to enter a mouse-gesture mode. Once the KeyUp event fires and it detects the appropriate gesture, it is suppose to send certain keystrokes to the active window that the user has defined for that particular gesture they just drew. I'm using the SendKeys.Send/SendWait methods to send output to the current window. My problem is this: When the user releases their global hotkey (say CTRL), it fires the KeyUp event. My program takes its recorded mouse points and detects the relevant gesture and attempts to send the correct input via SendKeys. However, because all of this is in the KeyUp event, that global hotkey hasn't finished being processed. So, for example if I defined a gesture to send the key "A" when it is detected, and my global hotkey is CTRL, when it is detected SendKeys will send "A" but while CTRL is still "down". So, instead of just sending A, I'm getting CTRL-A. So, in this example, instead of physically sending the single character "A" it is selecting-all via the CTRL-A shortcut. Even though the user has released the CTRL (global hotkey), it is still being considered down by the system. Once my KeyUp event fires, how can I have my program wait some period of time or for some event so I can be sure that the global hotkey is truly no longer being registered by the system, and only then sending the correct input via SendKeys?

• Where is my object allocation and memory leak in this iPhone/objective C code?

  Hello, I'm still a rookie when it comes to this programming gig and was wondering if someone could help me smooth out this code. Functionally, the code works great and does what I need it to do. • Configuration problems with django and mod_wsgi

  Hi, I've got problems on getting django to work on apache 2.2 with mod_wsgi. Django is installed and mod_wsgi too. I can even see a 404 page when accessing the path and I can login to django admin. • OSGI & Apache Commons-DBCP Classloading Issue

  I inherited some code that is using the Apache commons-dbcp Connection pools in an OSGi bundle. This code works fine with Eclipse/Equinox OSGi version 3.4.3 (R34x_v20081215), commons-dbcp 1.2.2 and the postgres jdbc3 8.3.603 bundles from springsource.org. I wanted to modernize, maybe this was my first mistake! When I use the new version of Felix or Equinox OSGI Cores with the new postgresql JDBC3 or JDBC4 bundles along with the latest version of commons-dbcp (1.4.1), I am getting a classloading issue. I have done numerous searches and found that the commons-dbcp code should have a fix DBCP-214, but it still seems to fail. I have tried to put the org.postgresql on the commons-dbcp MANIFEST.MF import-package line, but that did not work either. I wrote a simple test in an activator that first does a basic class.forName() and DriverManager.getConnection(), this works fine, but when I add in BasicDataSource() and setup the connection with BasicDataSource.getConnection(), I get the ClassNotFoundException.   Hello All, Attempting to use XStream's JavaBeanConverter and running into an issue. After looking at the source for JavaBeanConverter, it looks like my implementation should work, which leads me to believe I haven't configured something correctly during the XStream setup.   Hello, Looking for someone to either confirm or refute my theory that deploying two iframes pointing to two different stateful pages on the same domain can lead to JSESSIONIDs being overwritten. Here's what I mean: Setup suppose you have two pages that require HttpSession state (session affinity) to function correctly - deployed at http://www.foo.com/page1 and http://www.foo.com/page2 assume www.foo.com is a single host running a Tomcat (6.0.20, fwiw) that uses JSESSIONID for session id's. suppose these pages are turned into two iframe widgets to be embedded on 3rd party sites: http://www.site.com/page1" / (and /page2 respectively) suppose there a 3rd party site that wishes to place both widgets on the same page at http://www.bar.com/foowidgets.html Can the following race condition occur? a new visitor goes to http://www.bar.com/foowidgets.html browser starts loading URLs in foowidgets.html including the two iframe 'src' URLs because browsers open multiple concurrent connections against the same host (afaik up to 6 in chrome/ff case) the browser happens to simultaneously issue requests for http://www.foo.com/page1 and http://www.foo.com/page2 The tomcat @ foo.com receives both requests at about the same time, calls getSession() for the first time (on two different threads) and lazily creates two HttpSessions and, thus, two JSESSIONIDs, with values $Page1 and $Page2. The requests also stuff data into respective sessions (that data will be required to process subsequent requests) assume that the browser first receives response to the page1 request. Browser sets cookie JSESSIONID=$Page1 for HOST www.foo.com next response to the page2 request is received and the browser overwrites cookie JSESSIONID for HOST www.foo.com with $Page2 user clicks on something in 'page1' iframe on foowidgets.html; browser issues 2nd request to http://www.foo.com/page1?action=doSomethingStateful. That request carries JSESSIONID=$Page2 (and not $Page1 - because cookie value was overwritten) when foo.com receives this request it looks up the wrong HttpSession instance (because JSESSIONID key is $Page2 and NOT $Page1). Foobar! Can the above happen? I think so, but would appreciate a confirmation. If the above is clearly possible, what are some solutions given that we'd like to support multiple iframes per page? We don't have a firm need for the iframes to share the same HttpSession, though that would be nice. In the event that the solution will still stipulate a separate HttpSession per iframe, it is - of course - mandatory that iframe 1 does not end up referencing httpSession state for iframe 2 instead of own. off top of my head I can think of: map page1 and page2 to different domains (ops overhead) use URL rewriting and never cookies (messes up analytics) anything else? thanks a lot, -nikita

  I am trying to follow the basic "Create a blog in 20 minutes" Rails screencast but have hit a stumbling block already. When I try to rake db:migrate I get errors about the gem activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter not being installed. When I try to install it, I am told it doesn't exist. If I try to simply gem install mysql I get all sorts of madness appearing. I am running this on Mac OS X 10.6.2 and my installation was all done through gem. My basic setup works (Hello world!). • PHP5.3 is not working with MySQL5.1 IIS7 Times out

  I have set up PHP5.3, MySQL5.1, and IIS7 on Window 7 but php doesn't want to work with MySQL. I'm assuming it is a configuration error or an incomplete install on my part. MySQL5.1 is working PHP5.3 is working, phpinfo() shows info and that i have enabled MySQL IIS is setup and using fastCgiModule to run PHP IIS registers php.ini updates port 3306 is firewall free and open to the world php.ini is configured correctly I have added c:\php to the Windows systems PATH In the past I remember moving a file, libmysql.dll, to System32 but I doesn't look like that come with php5.3.1, as the driver comes built in now http://us3.php.net/manual/en/mysqlnd.install.php. • Tactics for using PHP in a high-load site

  Before you answer this I have never developed anything popular enough to attain high server loads. Treat me as (sigh) an alien that has just landed on the planet, albeit one that knows PHP and a few optimisation techniques. I'm developing a tool in PHP that could attain quite a lot of users, if it works out right. However while I'm fully capable of developing the program I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to making something that can deal with huge traffic. So here's a few questions on it (feel free to turn this question into a resource thread as well). Databases At the moment I plan to use the MySQLi features in PHP5. However how should I setup the databases in relation to users and content? Do I actually need multiple databases? At the moment everything's jumbled into one database - although I've been considering spreading user data to one, actual content to another and finally core site content (template masters etc.) to another. My reasoning behind this is that sending queries to different databases will ease up the load on them as one database = 3 load sources. Also would this still be effective if they were all on the same server? Caching I have a template system that is used to build the pages and swap out variables. Master templates are stored in the database and each time a template is called it's cached copy (a html document) is called. At the moment I have two types of variable in these templates - a static var and a dynamic var. Static vars are usually things like page names, the name of the site - things that don't change often; dynamic vars are things that change on each page load. My question on this: Say I have comments on different articles. Which is a better solution: store the simple comment template and render comments (from a DB call) each time the page is loaded or store a cached copy of the comments page as a html page - each time a comment is added/edited/deleted the page is recached. Finally Does anyone have any tips/pointers for running a high load site on PHP. I'm pretty sure it's a workable language to use - Facebook and Yahoo! give it great precedence - but are there any experiences I should watch out for? Thanks, Ross

• .htaccess blocking images on some internal pages

  I'm doing some web design for a friend and I noticed that everywhere else on her site images will load fine except for the subdirectory I'm working in. I looked in her .htaccess file and sure enough it is setup to deny people from stealing her images. Fair Enough, except the pages i'm working on are in her domain and yet I still get the 403 error. I'm pasting the .htaccess contents below but I replaced the domain names with xyz, 123 and abc. So specifically the page I'm on (xyz.com/DesignGallery.asp) pulls images from (xyz.com/machform/data/form_1/files) and it results in a forbidden error. • log4net: what am I doing wrong?

  Being a log4net newb / boob I just copied lines from an NHibernate example project where I can see the log.txt file is updated. Is there a quick answer why mine isn't creating the file? Cheers, Berryl [assembly: log4net.Config.XmlConfigurator(Watch = true)] I saw another post here saying this should go in AssemblyInfo, but in the example project this is just another line in a static helper class. • .exe File becomes corrupted when downloaded from server

  Firstly: I'm a lowly web designer who knows just enough PHP to be dangerous and just enough about server administration to be, well, nothing. I probably won't understand you unless you're very clear! The setup: I've set up a website where the client uploads files to a specific directory, and those files are made available, through php, for download by users. The files are generally executable files over 50MB. The client does not want them zipped, as they feel their users aren't savvy enough to unzip them. I'm using the php below to force a download dialogue box and hide the directory where the files are located. It's Linux server, if that makes a difference. The problem: There is a certain file that becomes corrupt after the user tries to download it. It is an executable file, but when it's clicked on, a blank DOS window opens up. The original file, prior to download opens perfectly. There are several other similar files that go through the same exact download procedure, and all of those work just fine. Things I've tried: I've tried uploading the file zipped, then unzipping it on the server to make sure it wasn't becoming corrupt during upload, and no luck. I've also compared the binary code of the original file to the downloaded file that doesn't work, and their exactly the same (so the php isn't accidentally inserting anything extra into the file). Could it be an issue with the headers in my downloadFile function?
