  • Make emacs autocomplete Ruby methods

    Is there a way to make emacs pull autocompletions of ruby methods the way Eclipse and NetBeans do? That is if I type File. and press CTRL-space in Eclipse I will get a list of File methods. Same with variables. I have installed autocomplete plugin, ruby-mode, rinari and cedet, but so far it will complete local variable and method names, but will not native ones.

  • When using delegates, need better way to do sequential processing

    I have a class WebServiceCaller that uses NSURLConnection to make asynchronous calls to a web service. The class provides a delegate property and when the web service call is done, it calls a method webServiceDoneWithXXX on the delegate. There are several web service methods that can be called, two of which are say GetSummary and GetList. The classes that use WebServiceCaller initially need both the summary and list so they are written like this: -(void)getAllData { [webServiceCaller getSummary]; } -(void)webServiceDoneWithGetSummary { [webServiceCaller getList]; } -(void)webServiceDoneWithGetList { ... } This works but there are at least two problems: The calls are split across delegate methods so it's hard to see the sequence at a glance but more important it's hard to control or modify the sequence. Sometimes I want to call just GetSummary and not also GetList so I would then have to use an ugly class-level state variable that tells webServiceDoneWithGetSummary whether to call GetList or not. Assume that GetList cannot be done until GetSummary completes and returns some data which is used as input to GetList. Is there a better way to handle this and still get asynchronous calls? Update based on Matt Long's answer: Using notifications instead of a delegate, it looks like I can solve problem #2 by setting a different selector depending on whether I want the full sequence (GetSummary+GetList) or just GetSummary. Both observers would still use the same notification name when calling GetSummary.   • Java - Collections.sort() performance

    Hello, Im using Collections.sort() to sort a LinkedList whose elements implements Comparable interface, so they are sorted in a natural order. In the javadoc documentation its said this method uses mergesort algorithm wich has n*log(n) performance. My question is if there is a more efficient algorithm to sort my LinkedList? The size of that list could be very high and sort will be also very frequent. Thanks!

  • AsyncListViewAdapter + SimplePager, why is inactive pager clearing the table?

    I'm trying to make CellTable work together with AsyncListViewAdapter<T> and SimplePager<T>. The data gets displayed, but when the pager should be 'deaf' (meaning when all existing data are displayed) it still receives clicks and, more importantly, makes the displayed data go away. Instead of my data 'loading' indicator gets displayed, and it keep loading and loading... Obviously nothing gets loaded, as it doesn't even call the onRangeChanged handler. I went through the code-snippets in this thread, but I can't see anything suspicions on what I've been doing. Is there some obvious answer to a rookie mistake?     I am writing a C++/CLI assembly that uses some native DLLs. During compile I can list them as "assembly link resource" so that the assembly is aware of these dependencies. When I use gacutils, it properly pulls all the native DLLs into GAC and they get properly loaded from GAC. Now, some of these native DLLs are localized, and have MUI files. How do I get those to be automatically copied to GAC as well?

What is the best way in C# to turn "14,42" into new Point(14,42);? I know the Regex for doing that is /(\d+),(\d+)/, but I'm having a hard time turning those two match groups into ints in C#. any help you could offer would be appreciated.

    take this linq into consideration: list.Where(sil => sil.XML.Element("ticket") != null && sil.XML.Element("ticket").Attribute("id").Value == smsRequestIn.TicketID) if the "ticket" element is not null it searches for it twice and hence is not very effective. Is there a way to use some sort of variables within the linq expression so I can reference the variable instead of doing a double search for the "ticket" element or is linq intelligent enough to not do a double search?

In Chrome however I get a blank grid.
