• add schema to path in postgresql

  I'm the process of moving applications over from all in the public schema to each having their own schema. for each application, I have a small script that will create the schema and then create the tables,functions,etc... to that schema. Is there anyway to automatically add a newly created schema to the search_path? Currently, the only way I see is to find the users current path SHOW search_path; and then add the new schema to it SET search_path to xxx,yyy,zzz; I would like some way to just say, append schema zzz to the users_search path. is this possible?

  Super nub question time! I am trying to use simplejson on the google appengine. In a terminal on my machine I have simplejson installed and working. But my when I try to import it in a script running on the appengine I get an error saying no such library exists.   I have a table of contacts and a table of postcode data. I need to match the first part of the postcode and the join that with the postcode table... and then perform an update... I want to do something like this...   I've written a big sql script that creates a CSV file. I want to call a cronjob every night to create a fresh CSV file and have it available on the website. Say for example I'm store my file in '/home/sites/example.com/www/files/backup.csv' and my SQL is SELECT * INTO OUTFILE '/home/sites/example.com/www/files/backup.csv' FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"' LINES TERMINATED BY '\n' FROM ( .... MySQL gives me an error when the file already exists File '/home/sites/example.com/www/files/backup.csv' already exists Is there a way to make MySQL overwrite the file? I could have PHP detect if the file exists and delete it before creating it again but it would be more succinct if I can do it directly in MySQL.

• Tool for parsing smtp logs that finds bounces

  Our web application sends e-mails. We have lots of users, and we get lots of bounces. For example, user changes company and his company e-mail is no longer valid. To find bounces, I parse smtp log file with log parser. Some bounces are great, like 550+#[email protected]. There is [email protected] in bounce. But some do not have e-mail in error message, like 550+No+such+recipient. I have created simple ruby script that parses logs (uses log parser) to find which mail caused something like 550+No+such+recipient. I am just surprised that I could not find a tool that does it. I have found tools like zabbix and splunk for log analysis, but they look like overkill for such simple task. Anybody knows a tool that would parse smtp logs, find bounces and e-mails that cause them? Edit: smtp server is microsoft smtp server.

Example: You goto start.com/auto-login-hack (via GET)... then PHP sets the right headers etc. and sends you via POST to 3rdparty.com/login.php with login credentials... I have done this is the past by having an HTML form and an onload script that submits the form to the destination... I don't know enough about headers etc... is this possible... can anyone link an example... by search skills just turned up how to use $_POST... Thanks...

Background info:   solutions needs to work from within a php script   the jpeg files are on disk   manual checking is no option (user uploaded data) I know that imagecreatefromjpeg(string $filename); can do it. But it is quite slow at doing so. Does anybody know a faster/more efficient solutions?

  Hi, I have just started creating an Adobe AIR+AJAX app which will need to upload and download files from the server using ftp functionality. Right now what is happening is I need to use sockets for this which is way to confusing and difficult to maintain. So, I was wondering if anybody has developed a javascript library or functionality for ftp? I don't want to rely on any serverside script for this. Is there a script/utility/mode of PCRE (or some other package) that will convert a PCRE (if possible) to an equivalent regex that doesn't use Perl's snazzy features? I'm fully aware that some Perl-style regexes cannot be stated as an ordinary regex, so I would not expect the tool to do the impossible, of course!

  Hi. I need to set java -Djava.library.path=/some/path and I want to do it when I am running my ant script, building my jar. I think I have to use <sysproperty key="java.library.path" value="/some/path"/> but it doesnt work. I cannot make the syntax work. The only thing I have Googled and found is sysproperty in conjunction with <java classname> but that doesnt make any sense to me. I am not sure if this is relevant, but I am using ant to create a ear and deploying this ear in JBoss.

  Hi, My "Privacy Policy" page is seen more important by Google than other really more important pages on my website. I'm currently creating a script to generate a sitemap, should I bother with the priority? How do you effectively assign priorities to pages? I consider one of my page important but the page have less content than another one less important to my eyes... but maybe Google bot will see it the other way around. If my degree of "importantness" differs from the one of Google, will I get penalized on the ranking for a particular page? Thank you for sharing your black art with us :P

  I was just wondering, is there a way to set up gitosis so that a user would have their own directory to which they could push any number of repositories that they want, and essentially have admin privs on that directory? This might be kind of confusing, but essentially I want something like how on github all your repositories are accessible at urls like [email protected]:username/repofoo.git . I realize that setting up each repo is a somewhat manual process that could be automated via a script, like I assume github does, but is there any way to do something like this overall, minus the automated repository creation? I guess I'm open to trying to set up gitorious or something if it allows this, but gitosis works pretty well for me right now and it was dead easy to set up, and I've heard that gitorious is not so easy. Thanks! I've heard of other forks/clones of gitosis that have per branch permissions like gitolite, but I'm not sure whether I want to use one of those unless they have other compelling features and are as well documented and easy to use as gitosis.

  I've got two models class SurveyResponse has_many :answers, :class_name => SurveyResponseAnswer.name accepts_nested_attributes_for :answers end class SurveyResponseAnswer belongs_to :survey_response validates_presence_of :answer_text end In my nested form if validation fails I get this error displayed on the screen: "answers answer text can't be blank" I've customized my attribute names somewhat successfully using rails I18n. It doesn't behave exactly how I would expect though. The yml file below doesn't affect how the attribute name is printed in error_messages_for en: activerecord: models: survey_response: answers: "Response" But if from script/console I try SurveyResponse.human_attribute_name("answers") I get the expected result of "Response". What I'd like to do is have the validation error message say: "Response answer text can't be blank". Any ideas what I need to fix?

• Scala Lift - Robust method to protect files from hotlinking

  I'm attempting to implement a way to stop hotlinking and/or un-authorised access to resources within my app. The method I'm trying to add is something I've used before in PHP apps. Basically a session is set when the page is first called. The images are added to the page via the image tag with the session value as a parameter: <img src="/files/image/[handle]?session=12345" /> When the image is requested the script checks to see if the session is set and matches the provided value. If the condition is not met the serving page returns null. Right at the end to the code I unset the session so further requests from outside the scope of the page will return null. What would be the best implementation of this method within the lift framework? Thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated :)

• OpenSSL "Seal" in C (or via shell)

  I'm working on porting some PHP code to C, that contacts a web API. The issue I've come across is that the PHP code uses the function openssl_seal(), but I can't seem to find any way to do the same thing in C or even via openssl in a call to system(). From the PHP manual on openssl_seal(): int openssl_seal ( string $data , string &$sealed_data , array &$env_keys , array $pub_key_ids ) openssl_seal() seals (encrypts) data by using RC4 with a randomly generated secret key. The key is encrypted with each of the public keys associated with the identifiers in pub_key_ids and each encrypted key is returned in env_keys . This means that one can send sealed data to multiple recipients (provided one has obtained their public keys). Each recipient must receive both the sealed data and the envelope key that was encrypted with the recipient's public key. What would be the best way to implement this? I'd really prefer not to call out to a PHP script every time, for obvious reasons.

• Referencing Environment Variables in web.xml

  I'm pre-packaging a JSP web-app that relies on some file path settings found within web.xml. These settings are unknown at packaging time, because they reference a path the customer will set when deploying the entire application (of which the web-app is a management interface). It seems that the easiest way to avoid tokens and file modifications in my installer script, is to ask the user for an install location, set this location as an environment variable (e.g JAVA_HOME), and have web.xml always reference that variable. Is there a way to reference an environment variable value from within web.xml? Google searches lead to the J2EE method of SETTING environment variables from ejb xml files. This is not what I'm looking for. Thanks Udi

• Conditional Validation using JQuery Validation Plugin

  I have a simple html form that I've added validation to using the JQuery Validation plugin. I have it working for single fields that require a value. I now need to extend that so that if a user answers Yes to a question they must enter something in the Details field, otherwise the Details field can be left blank.   Hello, guys! I have a problem and I dont know what is better solution. Okay, I have 2 tables: posts(id, title), posts_tags(post_id, tag_id). I have next task: must select posts with tags ids for example 4, 10 and 11. Not exactly, post could have any other tags at the same time. So, how I could do it more optimized? Creating temporary table in each query? Or may be some kind of stored procedure? In the future, user could ask script to select posts with any count of tags (it could be 1 tag only or 10 at the same time) and I must be sure that method that I will choose would be the best method for my problem. Sorry for my english, thx for attention.
