  • objective C architecture question

    - by thekevinscott
    Hey folks, I'm currently teaching myself objective C. I've gone through the tutorials, but I find I learn best when slogging through a project of my own, so I've embarked on making a backgammon app. Now that I'm partway in, I'm realizing there's some overall architecture things I just don't understand. I've established a "player" class, a "piece" class, and a "board" class. A piece theoretically belongs to both a player and the board. For instance, a player has a color, and every turn makes a move; so the player owns his pieces. At the same time, when moving a piece, it has to check whether it's a valid move, whether there are pieces on the board, etc. From my reading it seems like it's frowned upon to reach across classes. For instance, when a player makes a move, where should the function live that moves the piece? Should it exist on board? This would be my instinct, as the board should decide whether a move is valid or not; but the piece needs to initialize that query, as its the one being moved, no? Any info to help a noob would be super appreciated. Thanks guys!

  • submit remote form with prototype

    - by badnaam
    I have a remote form like this and a checkbox in it. When I select or deselect the checkbox I would like to 1 - set the value of a hidden field 2 - ajax submit this form to its designated url. I tried $('search_form').onsubmit(), but I get an error saying onsubmit is not a function. Using prototype. Whats the best way to do this? <form onsubmit="new Ajax.Request('/searches/search_set?stype=1', {asynchronous:true, evalScripts:true, parameters:Form.serialize(this)}); return false;" method="post" id="new_search" class="new_search" action="/searches/search_set?stype=1"><div style="margin: 0pt; padding: 0pt; display: inline;"><input type="hidden" value="3TWSyMsZXI0nltz7zHAxuj1KX=" name="authenticity_token"></div> <a onclick="setSubmit(this);" href="#" class="submit-link-button fg-button ui-state-default fg-button-icon-left ui-corner-all" id="search_submit"><span class="ui-icon ui-icon-search"></span>'Search'</a> </div> <input type="checkbox" value="Energy" onclick="refreshResults(this);" name="search[conditions][article_tag][0]" id="search_conditions_article_tag_0">

  • How to test if raising an event results in a method being called conditional on value of parameters

    - by MattC
    I'm trying to write a unit test that will raise an event on a mock object which my test class is bound to. What I'm keen to test though is that when my test class gets it's eventhandler called it should only call a method on certain values of the eventhandlers parameters. My test seems to pass even if I comment the code that calls ProcessPriceUpdate(price); I'm in VS2005 so no lambdas please :( So... public delegate void PriceUpdateEventHandler(decimal price); public interface IPriceInterface{ event PriceUpdateEventHandler PriceUpdate; } public class TestClass { IPriceInterface priceInterface = null; TestClass(IPriceInterface priceInterface) { this.priceInterface = priceInterface; } public void Init() { priceInterface.PriceUpdate += OnPriceUpdate; } public void OnPriceUpdate(decimal price) { if(price > 0) ProcessPriceUpdate(price); } public void ProcessPriceUpdate(decimal price) { //do something with price } } And my test so far :s public void PriceUpdateEvent() { MockRepository mock = new MockRepository(); IPriceInterface pi = mock.DynamicMock<IPriceInterface>(); TestClass test = new TestClass(pi); decimal prc = 1M; IEventRaiser raiser; using (mock.Record()) { pi.PriceUpdate += null; raiser = LastCall.IgnoreArguments().GetEventRaiser(); Expect.Call(delegate { test.ProcessPriceUpdate(prc); }).Repeat.Once(); } using (mock.Playback()) { test.Init(); raiser.Raise(prc); } }

  • How to avoid using this in a constructor

    - by Paralife
    I have this situation: interface MessageListener { void onMessageReceipt(Message message); } class MessageReceiver { MessageListener listener; public MessageReceiver(MessageListener listener, other arguments...) { this.listener = listener; } loop() { Message message = nextMessage(); listener.onMessageReceipt(message); } } and I want to avoid the following pattern: (Using the this in the Client constructor) class Client implements MessageListener { MessageReceiver receiver; MessageSender sender; public Client(...) { receiver = new MessageReceiver(this, other arguments...); sender = new Sender(...); } . . . @Override public void onMessageReceipt(Message message) { if(Message.isGood()) sender.send("Congrtulations"); else sender.send("Boooooooo"); } } The reason why i need the above functionality is because i want to call the sender inside the onMessageReceipt() function, for example to send a reply. But I dont want to pass the sender into a listener, so the only way I can think of is containing the sender in a class that implements the listener, hence the above resulting Client implementation. Is there a way to achive this without the use of 'this' in the constructor? It feels bizare and i dont like it, since i am passing myself to an object(MessageReceiver) before I am fully constructed. On the other hand, the MessageReceiver is not passed from outside, it is constructed inside, but does this 'purifies' the bizarre pattern? I am seeking for an alternative or an assurance of some kind that this is safe, or situations on which it might backfire on me.

  • simple Java "service provider frameworks"?

    - by Jason S
    I refer to "service provider framework" as discussed in Chapter 2 of Effective Java, which seems like exactly the right way to handle a problem I am having, where I need to instantiate one of several classes at runtime, based on a String to select which service, and an Configuration object (essentially an XML snippet): But how do I get the individual service providers (e.g. a bunch of default providers + some custom providers) to register themselves? interface FooAlgorithm { /* methods particular to this class of algorithms */ } interface FooAlgorithmProvider { public FooAlgorithm getAlgorithm(Configuration c); } class FooAlgorithmRegistry { private FooAlgorithmRegistry() {} static private final Map<String, FooAlgorithmProvider> directory = new HashMap<String, FooAlgorithmProvider>(); static public FooAlgorithmProvider getProvider(String name) { return directory.get(serviceName); } static public boolean registerProvider(String name, FooAlgorithmProvider provider) { if (directory.containsKey(name)) return false; directory.put(name, provider); return true; } } e.g. if I write custom classes MyFooAlgorithm and MyFooAlgorithmProvider to implement FooAlgorithm, and I distribute them in a jar, is there any way to get registerProvider to be called automatically, or will my client programs that use the algorithm have to explicitly call FooAlgorithmRegistry.registerProvider() for each class they want to use?

  • XML serialization of a collection in C#

    - by Archana R
    I have two classes as follows: public class Info { [XmlAttribute] public string language; public int version; public Book book; public Info() { } public Info(string l, int v, string author, int quantity, int price) { this.language = l; this.version = v; book = new Book(author, quantity, price); } } public class Book { [XmlAttribute] public string author; public int quantity; public int price; [XmlIgnore]public int total; public NameValueCollection nvcollection = new NameValueCollection(); public Book() { } public Book(string author, int quantity, int price) { this.author = author; this.quantity = quantity; this.price = price; total = quantity * price; nvcollection.Add(author, price.ToString()); } } I have created an ArrayList which adds the two instances of Info class as follows: FileStream fs = new FileStream("SerializedInfo.XML", FileMode.Create); List<Info> arrList = new List<Info>(); XmlSerializer xs = new XmlSerializer(typeof(List<Info>)); Info pObj = new Info("ABC", 3, "DEF", 2, 6); Info pObj1 = new Info("GHI", 4, "JKL", 2, 8); arrList.Add(pObj); arrList.Add(pObj1); xs.Serialize(fs, arrList); fs.Close(); But when I try to serialize, I get an exception as "There was an error reflecting type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[ConsoleApplicationSerialization.Info]'." Can anyone help me with it? Also, instead of namevaluecollection, which type of structure can i use?

  • Pulling info from database and dynamically adding them into different divs

    - by Matt Nathanson
    This may be a bit of a php n00b question but i've managed to get it working this far and I'm a little bit stuck. I'm pulling 12 images with descriptions out of a database. I want to insert them into a client rotator that has 3 sets of 4. They will be contained in divs called clientrotate1, clientrotate2, and clientrotate3 respectively. Inside each of those divs I want to have 4 images with classes thumb1, thumb2, thumb3, and thumb4 I am successful in having the images and descriptions pull into clientrotator 1. Where I get stuck is to how to dynamically add the 2nd and 3rd set of data into clientrotator2 and clientrotator3. Here is my function: public function DisplayClientRotator(){ $result = mysql_query( 'SELECT * FROM project ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 12' ) or die("SELECT Error: ".mysql_error()); $iterator = 1; while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { echo "<div id='clientrotate1'>"; echo "<div class='thumb$iterator'>"; echo "<img style='width: 172px; height: 100px;' src=".$row['photo']." />"; echo "<div class='transbox'>"; echo "<div class='thumbtext'>"; echo $row['campaign']; echo "</div>"; echo "</div>"; echo "</div>"; echo "</div>"; $iterator++; } Any help or pointers int he right direction would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much, Matt

  • Can a destructor be recursive?

    - by Cubbi
    Is this program well-defined, and if not, why exactly? #include <iostream> #include <new> struct X { int cnt; X (int i) : cnt(i) {} ~X() { std::cout << "destructor called, cnt=" << cnt << std::endl; if ( cnt-- > 0 ) this->X::~X(); // explicit recursive call to dtor } }; int main() { char* buf = new char[sizeof(X)]; X* p = new(buf) X(7); p->X::~X(); // explicit call to dtor delete[] buf; } My reasoning: although invoking a destructor twice is undefined behavior, per 12.4/14, what it says exactly is this: the behavior is undefined if the destructor is invoked for an object whose lifetime has ended Which does not seem to prohibit recursive calls. While the destructor for an object is executing, the object's lifetime has not yet ended, thus it's not UB to invoke the destructor again. On the other hand, 12.4/6 says: After executing the body [...] a destructor for class X calls the destructors for X's direct members, the destructors for X's direct base classes [...] which means that after the return from a recursive invocation of a destructor, all member and base class destructors will have been called, and calling them again when returning to the previous level of recursion would be UB. Therefore, a class with no base and only POD members can have a recursive destructor without UB. Am I right?

  • Localizing DataAnnotations Custom Validator

    - by Gabe G
    Hello SO, I'm currently working in an MVC 2 app which has to have everything localized in n-languages (currently 2, none of them english btw). I validate my model classes with DataAnnotations but when I wanted to validate a DateTime field found out that the DataTypeAttribute returns always true, no matter it was a valid date or not (that's because when I enter a random string "foo", the IsValid() method checks against "01/01/0001 ", dont know why). Decided to write my own validator extending ValidationAtribute class: public class DateTimeAttribute : ValidationAttribute { public override bool IsValid(object value) { DateTime result; if (value.ToString().Equals("01/01/0001 0:00:00")) { return false; } return DateTime.TryParse(value.ToString(), out result); } } Now it checks OK when is valid and when it's not, but my problem starts when I try to localize it: [Required(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_Required")] [CustomValidation.DateTime(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_DataType")] public DateTime INS_DATA { get; set; } If I put nothing in the field I get a localized MSG (MSG being my resource class) for the key=INS_DATA_Required but if I put a bad-formatted date I get the "The value 'foo' is not valid for INS_DATA" default message and not the localized MSG. What am I misssing?

  • Implementing Operator Overloading with Logarithms in C++

    - by Jacob Relkin
    Hello my friends, I'm having some issues with implementing a logarithm class with operator overloading in C++. My first goal is how I would implement the changeBase method, I've been having a tough time wrapping my head around it. My secoond goal is to be able to perform an operation where the left operand is a double and the right operand is a logarithm object. Here's a snippet of my log class: // coefficient: double // base: unsigned int // number: double class _log { double coefficient, number; unsigned int base; public: _log() { base = rand(); coefficient = rand(); number = rand(); } _log operator+ ( const double b ) const; _log operator* ( const double b ) const; _log operator- ( const double b ) const; _log operator/ ( const double b ) const; _log operator<< ( const _log &b ); double getValue() const; bool changeBase( unsigned int base ); }; You guys are awesome, thank you for your time.

  • SQL query using information from 4 tables (not all directly linked)

    - by Yvonne
    I'm developing a simple classroom system, where teachers manage classes and their subjects. I have 2 levels of access in my teachers table, assigned by an integer (1 = admin, 2 = user)... Meaning that the headteacher is the admin :) A teacher (of level 1) can have have many classes and a class can have many teachers (so I have 'TeachersClasses' table). A class can have many subjects, and a teacher can have many subjects. Basically, I'm attempting a query to display the admin teacher's (level 1) subjects. However, only teachers with a level of 2, are directly related to a subject, which is set by the admin user. The headteacher can view all of their subjects via the classroom, but I cannot get all of the subjects to be displayed on one page, instead I can only get the subjects to appear under a specific classroom right now... This is what I have so far, which is returning nothing. (I'm guessing this may require an SQL clause more advanced that 'INNER JOIN' which is the only join type I am familiar with, and thought it would be enough! $query = "SELECT subjects.subjectid, subjects.subjectname, subjects.subjectdetails, classroom.classid, classroom.classname FROM subjects INNER JOIN classroom ON subjects.subjectid = classroom.classid INNER JOIN teacherclasses ON classroom.classid = teacherclasses.classid INNER JOIN teachers ON teacherclasses.teacherid = teachers.teacherid WHERE teachers.teacherid = '".intval( $_SESSION['SESS_TEACHERID'] )."'"; In order for all subjects related to the headteachers class to be displayed, I'm gathering that all of my tables will need to be called up here? Thanks for any help! Example output: subject name: maths // teacher: mr smith // classroom: DG99 x10 for all the subjects associated with the headteachers classrooms :)

  • Multiple autocompletes on same form in socialengine

    - by Mirza Awais
    I am quite new to socialegine module development. I want to use multiple autocomplets on my one form. I have no problem of showing multiple auto completes but problem comes when one selects options from auto complete. I have seen that autocompet.js uses id toValues to show selected option from autocomlte. So if there is only one autocomplete on one form then we can have one element as toValues to show the selected value. But if we have multiple auto completes then how to show the selected item of each auto complete as separately? Using the following code for autocomplete en4.core.runonce.add(function() { new Autocompleter.Request.JSON('to', '<?php echo $this->url(array('module' => 'localspots', 'controller' => 'lookup', 'action' => 'city'), 'default', true) ?>', { 'minLength': 2, 'delay' : 1, 'selectMode': 'pick', 'autocompleteType': 'message', 'multiple': false, 'className': 'message-autosuggest', 'filterSubset' : true, 'tokenFormat' : 'object', 'tokenValueKey' : 'label', 'injectChoice': function(token){ console.log(token.type); var choice = new Element('li', {'class': 'autocompleter-choices', 'html': token.photo, 'id':token.label}); new Element('div', {'html': this.markQueryValue(token.label),'class': 'autocompleter-choice'}).inject(choice); this.addChoiceEvents(choice).inject(this.choices); choice.store('autocompleteChoice', token); }, onPush : function(){ if( $('toValues').value.split(',').length >= maxRecipients ){ $('to').disabled = true; $('to').setAttribute("class", "disabled"); } }, }); });

  • ASP.NET MVC PartialView generic ModelView

    - by Greg Ogle
    I have an ASP.NET MVC application which I want to dynamically pick the partial view and what data gets passed to it, while maintaining strong types. So, in the main form, I want a class that has a view model that contains a generically typed property which should contain the data for the partial view's view model. public class MainViewModel<T> { public T PartialViewsViewModel { get; set; } } In the User Control, I would like something like: Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<MainViewModel<ParticularViewModel>>" %> Though in my parent form, I must put Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<MainViewModel<ParticularViewModel>>" %> for it to work. Is there a way to work around this? The use case is to make the user control pluggable. I understand that I could inherit a base class, but that would put me back to having something like a dictionary instead of a typed view model.

  • Should i use a trigger or Behaviors for this?

    - by Michael
    I have an abstract object called Applicant and two different types of objects that inherit from Applicant called Business and Individual. So I have three classes that look like this: public abstract class Applicant { ... } public class Individual : Applicant { ... } public class Business : Applicant { ... } Now in the DataGrid I want to show all the details of Applicant object. When you choose a row I want to show details of either the business or individual as a internal grid. Something like this <DataGrid> <DataGrid.Columns> <!--Show different columns --> </DataGrid.Columns> <DataGrid.RowDetailsTemplate> <!--Show if Individual --> <DataGrid> <DataGrid.Columns> <DataGridTextColumn Header="First Name" ... /> <DataGridTextColumn Header="Last Name" ... /> </DataGrid.Columns> </DataGrid> <!--Show if business --> <DataGrid> <DataGrid.Columns> <DataGridTextColumn Header="Business Name" ... /> <DataGridTextColumn Header="Tax id" ... /> </DataGrid.Columns> </DataGrid> </DataGrid.RowDetailsTemplate> </DataGrid> Now I'm not sure if I need to use a Triggers or Behaviors to accomplish this? Thanks for everyones help! FYI I'm using Silverlight 4.0 with Prism.

  • Trouble Shoot JavaScript Function in IE

    - by CreativeNotice
    So this function works fine in geko and webkit browsers, but not IE7. I've busted my brain trying to spot the issue. Anything stick out for you? Basic premise is you pass in a data object (in this case a response from jQuery's $.getJSON) we check for a response code, set the notification's class, append a layer and show it to the user. Then reverse the process after a time limit. function userNotice(data){ // change class based on error code returned var myClass = ''; if(data.code == 200){ myClass='success'; } else if(data.code == 400){ myClass='error'; } else{ myClass='notice'; } // create message html, add to DOM, FadeIn var myNotice = '<div id="notice" class="ajaxMsg '+myClass+'">'+data.msg+'</div>'; $("body").append(myNotice); $("#notice").fadeIn('fast'); // fadeout and remove from DOM after delay var t = setTimeout(function(){ $("#notice").fadeOut('slow',function(){ $(this).remove(); }); },5000); }

  • GWT serialization issue

    - by Eddy
    I am having a heck of a time returning an ArrayList of objects that implement IsSerializable via RPC. The IsSerializable pojo contains one variable, a String, and has a 0 parameter constructor. I have removed the .gwt.rpc file from my war and still I get: com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.SerializationException: Type 'com.test.myApp.client.model.Test' was not included in the set of types which can be serialized by this SerializationPolicy or its Class object could not be loaded. For security purposes, this type will not be serialized.: instance = com.test.myApp.client.model.Test@17a9692 at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.impl.ServerSerializationStreamWriter.serialize(ServerSerializationStreamWriter.java:610) I am using GWT 2.0.2 with jdk 1.6.0_18. Any ideas on what might be going on or what I am doing wrong? Here is the code for the Test class and the remote method is returning ArrayList. I even modified the code for it to just return one instance of Test with the same result: the exception above. package com.test.myApp.client.model; import com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.IsSerializable; public class Test implements IsSerializable{ private String s; public Test() {} public Test(String s) { this.s = s; } public String getS() { return s; } public void setS(String s) { this.s = s; } } Greatly appreciate the help! • javascript to reference input IDs in php loop and pass values back to same input ID

    - by Smudger
    I have a form which is essentially an autocomplete input box. I can get this to work perfectly for a single text box. What I need to do is create unique input boxes by using a php for loop. This will use the counter $i to give each input box a unique name and id. The problem is that the unique value of the input box needs to be passed to the javascript. this will then pass the inputted data to the external php page and return the mysql results. As mentioned I have this working for a single input box but need assistance with passing the correct values to the javascript and returning it to correct input box. existing code for working solution (first row works only, all other rows update first row input box) <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function lookup(inputString) { if(inputString.length == 0) { // Hide the suggestion box. $('#suggestions').hide(); } else { $.post("autocompleteperson.php", {queryString: ""+inputString+""}, function(data){ if(data.length >0) { $('#suggestions').show(); $('#autoSuggestionsList').html(data); } }); } } // lookup function fill(thisValue) { $('#inputString').val(thisValue); setTimeout("$('#suggestions').hide();", 200); } </script> </head> <body> <form name="form1" id="form1" action="addepartment.php" method="post"> <table> <? for ( $i = 1; $i <=10; $i++ ) { ?> <tr> <td> <? echo $i; ?></td> <td> <div> <input type="text" size="30" value="" id="inputString" onkeyup="lookup(this.value);" onblur="fill();" /> </div> <div class="suggestionsBox" id="suggestions" style="display: none;"> <img src="upArrow.png" style="position: relative; top: -12px; left: 20px;" alt="upArrow" /> <div class="suggestionList" id="autoSuggestionsList"> &nbsp; </div> </div> </td> </tr> <? } ?> </table> </body> </html> code for autocompleteperson.php is: $query = $db->query("SELECT fullname FROM Persons WHERE fullname LIKE '$queryString%' LIMIT 10"); if($query) { while ($result = $query ->fetch_object()) { echo '<li onClick="fill(\''.$result->fullname.'\');">'.$result->fullname.'</li>'; } } in order to get it to work for all rows, I include the counter $i in each of the file names as below: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function lookup(inputString<? echo $i; ?>) { if(inputString<? echo $i; ?>.length == 0) { // Hide the suggestion box. $('#suggestions<? echo $i; ?>').hide(); } else { $.post("autocompleteperson.php", {queryString: ""+inputString<? echo $i; ?>+""}, function(data){ if(data.length >0) { $('#suggestions<? echo $i; ?>').show(); $('#autoSuggestionsList<? echo $i; ?>').html(data); } }); } } // lookup function fill(thisValue) { $('#inputString<? echo $i; ?>').val(thisValue); setTimeout("$('#suggestions<? echo $i; ?>').hide();", 200); } </script> </head> <body> <form name="form1" id="form1" action="addepartment.php" method="post"> <table> <? for ( $i = 1; $i <=10; $i++ ) { ?> <tr> <td> <? echo $i; ?></td> <td> <div> <input type="text" size="30" value="" id="inputString<? echo $i; ?>" onkeyup="lookup(this.value);" onblur="fill();" /> </div> <div class="suggestionsBox" id="suggestions<? echo $i; ?>" style="display: none;"> <img src="upArrow.png" style="position: relative; top: -12px; left: 20px;" alt="upArrow" /> <div class="suggestionList" id="autoSuggestionsList<? echo $i; ?>"> &nbsp; </div> </div> </td> </tr> <? } ?> </table> </body> </html> The autocomplete suggestion works (although always shown on first row) but when selecting the data always returns to row 1, even if input was on row 5. I have a feeling this has to do with the fill() but not sure? is it due the the autocomplete page code? or does the fill referencing ThisValue have something to do with it. example of this page (as above) can be found here Thanks for the assistance, much appreciated. UPDATE - LOLO <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function lookup(i, inputString) { if(inputValue.length == 0) { // Hide the suggestion box. $('#suggestions' + i).hide(); } else { $.post("autocompleteperson.php", {queryString: ""+inputString+""}, function(data){ if(data.length >0) { $('#suggestions' + i).show(); $('#autoSuggestionsList' + i).html(data); } }); } } // lookup function fill(i, thisValue) { $('#inputString' + i).val(thisValue); setTimeout("$('#suggestions' + i).hide();", 200); } </script> </head> <body> <form name="form1" id="form1" action="addepartment.php" method="post"> <table> <? for ( $i = 1; $i <=10; $i++ ) { ?> <tr> <td> <? echo $i; ?></td> <td> <div> <input type="text" size="30" value="" id="inputString<?php echo $i; ?>" onkeyup="lookup(this.value);" onblur="fill();" /> </div> <div class="suggestionsBox" id="suggestions<? echo $i; ?>" style="display: none;"> <img src="upArrow.png" style="position: relative; top: -12px; left: 20px;" alt="upArrow" /> <div class="suggestionList" id="autoSuggestionsList<? echo $i; ?>"> &nbsp; </div> </div> </td> </tr> <? } ?> </table> </body> </html> google chrome catched the following errors: first line on input, second line on loosing focus

    I have a WPF UserControl. The code behind file declares some RoutedUICommand objects which are referenced in the XAML. The application builds and runs just fine. However Expression Blend 3 cannot load the XAML in the designer and gives errors like this one: The member "ResetCameraComand" is not recognized or accessible. The class and the member are both public. Building and rebuilding the project in Blend and restarting Blend hasn't helped. Any ideas what the problem is? Here are fragments of my XAML ... <UserControl x:Class="CAP.Visual.CameraAndLightingControl" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:CAP.Visual;assembly=VisualApp" Height="100" Width="700"> <UserControl.CommandBindings> <CommandBinding Command="local:CameraAndLightingControl.ResetCameraCommand" Executed="ResetCamera_Executed" CanExecute="ResetCamera_CanExecute"/> </UserControl.CommandBindings> .... ... and the code behind C# namespace CAP.Visual { public partial class CameraAndLightingControl : UserControl { public readonly static RoutedUICommand ResetCameraCommand; static CameraAndLightingControl() { ResetCameraCommand = new RoutedUICommand("Reset Camera", "ResetCamera", typeof(CameraAndLightingControl)); }

  • ASP.NET MVC 2 strange behavior

    - by Voice
    Hi Recently I installed VS 2010 Release (migrated from RC) and my MVC application is not working anymore. More concrete: I have a wizard with several steps for new customer account creation (Jquery form wizard, but it doesn't really matter). Each step contains a typed partial View for each part of account: Company, Customer, Licence, etc. When I submit the form I see really strange thing in ModelState. There are duplicate keys for Company: with "Company" prefix and without it. Something like this: [6] "Company.Phone" string [12] "Phone" string My model state for all these keys is not valid because Company is actually null and validation fails. When it was RC there were no such keys with "Company" prefix. So these keys in ModelState with prefix "Company" appeared after I installed VS Release. Here is my code: Main View <div id="registerSteps"> <div id="firstStep" class="step"> <fieldset> <legend><%=Html.Encode(Register.CustomerInfo) %></legend> <% Html.RenderPartial("CustomerInfo", ViewData["newCust"]); %> </fieldset> </div> <div id="secondStep" class="step"> <fieldset> <legend><%=Html.Encode(Register.CompanyInfo) %></legend> <% Html.RenderPartial("CompanyInfo", ViewData["newComp"]); %> </fieldset> </div> <div id="thirdStep" class="step"> <fieldset> <legend><%=Html.Encode(Register.LicenceInfo) %></legend> <% Html.RenderPartial("LicenceInfo", ViewData["newLic"]); %> </fieldset> </div> <div id="lastStep" class="step"> <fieldset> <legend><%=Html.Encode(Register.PrivacyStatement) %></legend> <% Html.RenderPartial("PrivacyStatementInfo"); %> </fieldset> </div> <div id="registerNavigation"> <input class="navigation_button" value="Back" type="reset"/> <input class="navigation_button" value="Next" type="submit"/> </div> </div> Two partial views (to show that they are actually identical): Company: <div id="dCompanyInfo"> <div> <div> <%=Html.LocalizableLabelFor(company => company.Name, Register.CompanyName) %> </div> <div> <%=Html.TextBoxFor(company => company.Name) %> <%=Html.ValidationMessageFor(company => company.Name) %> </div> </div> <div> <div> <%=Html.LocalizableLabelFor(company => company.Phone, Register.Phone) %> </div> <div> <%=Html.TextBoxFor(company => company.Phone) %> <%=Html.ValidationMessageFor(company => company.Phone) %> </div> </div> <div> <div> <%=Html.LocalizableLabelFor(company => company.Fax, Register.Fax) %> </div> <div> <%=Html.TextBoxFor(company => company.Fax) %> <%=Html.ValidationMessageFor(company => company.Fax) %> </div> </div> <div> <div> <%=Html.LocalizableLabelFor(company => company.Size_ID, Register.CompanySize) %> </div> <div> <%=Html.ValueListDropDown(company => company.Size_ID, (CodeRoad.AQua.DomainModel.ValueList)ViewData["CompSize"], (string)ViewData["Culture"]) %> <%=Html.ValidationMessageFor(company => company.Size_ID) %> </div> </div> <div> <div> <%=Html.LocalizableLabelFor(company => company.Industry_ID, Register.Industry) %> </div> <div> <%=Html.ValueListDropDown(company => company.Industry_ID, (CodeRoad.AQua.DomainModel.ValueList)ViewData["Industry"], (string)ViewData["Culture"]) %> <%=Html.ValidationMessageFor(company => company.Industry_ID) %> </div> </div> </div> And for Customer <div id="dCustomerInfo"> <div> <div> <%=Html.LocalizableLabelFor(customer => customer.Email, Register.Email) %> </div> <div> <%=Html.TextBoxFor(customer => customer.Email) %> <%=Html.ValidationMessageFor(customer => customer.Email) %> </div> </div> <div> <div> <%=Html.LocalizableLabelFor(customer => customer.Male, Register.Gender) %> </div> <div> <%=Html.ListBoolEditor(customer => customer.Male, Register.Male, Register.Female, Register.GenderOptionLabel) %> <%=Html.ValidationMessageFor(customer => customer.Male) %> </div> </div> <div> <div> <%=Html.LocalizableLabelFor(customer => customer.FirstName, Register.FirstName) %> </div> <div> <%=Html.TextBoxFor(customer => customer.FirstName) %> <%=Html.ValidationMessageFor(customer => customer.FirstName) %> </div> </div> <div> <div> <%=Html.LocalizableLabelFor(customer => customer.LastName, Register.LastName) %> </div> <div> <%=Html.TextBoxFor(customer => customer.LastName) %> <%=Html.ValidationMessageFor(customer => customer.LastName) %> </div> </div> <div> <div> <%=Html.LocalizableLabelFor(customer => customer.Role_ID, Register.Role) %> </div> <div> <%=Html.ValueListDropDown(customer => customer.Role_ID, (CodeRoad.AQua.DomainModel.ValueList)ViewData["OrgRole"], (string)ViewData["Culture"]) %> <%=Html.ValidationMessageFor(customer => customer.Role_ID) %> </div> </div> </div> There are some home made extension methods, but they worked pretty well in previous version (VS RC). Html which is generated is also ok, no "Company.Phone"-like stuff. So I wonder, where all these keys with "Company" came from and what can I do with that? I appreciate any solution.

  • OutOfMemoryException

    - by Andrew
    I have an application that is pretty memory hungry. It holds a large amount of data in some big arrays. I have recently been noticing the occasional OutOfMemoryException. These OutOfMemoryExceptions are occurring long before my application (ASP.Net) has used up the 800mb available to it. I have track the issue down to the area of code where the array is resized. The array contains a structure that is 74bytes in size. (I know that you shouldn't create struct's that are bigger than 16bytes), but this application is a port from a Vb6 application). I have tried changing the struct to a class and this appears to have fixed the problem for now. I think the reason that changing to a class solves the problem has to do with the fact that when using a struct and the array is resized, a segment of memory that is large enough to store the new array needs to be reserved (e.g. (currentArraySize + increaseBySize)*74) cannot be found. This leads to the OutOfMemoryException. This isn't the case with a class as each element of the array only needs 8bytes to store a pointer to the new object. Is my thinking correct here?

  • Spring configuration of C3P0 with Hibernate?

    - by HDave
    I have a Spring/JPA application with Hibernate as the JPA provider. I've configured a C3P0 data source in Spring via: <bean id="myJdbcDataSource" class="com.mchange.v2.c3p0.ComboPooledDataSource" destroy-method="close"> <!-- Connection properties --> <property name="driverClass" value="$DS{database.class}" /> <property name="jdbcUrl" value="$DS{database.url}" /> <property name="user" value="$DS{database.username}" /> <property name="password" value="$DS{database.password}" /> <!-- Pool properties --> <property name="minPoolSize" value="5" /> <property name="maxPoolSize" value="20" /> <property name="maxStatements" value="50" /> <property name="idleConnectionTestPeriod" value="3000" /> <property name="loginTimeout" value="300" /> I then specified this data source in the Spring entity manager factory as follows: <bean id="myLocalEmf" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean"> <property name="persistenceUnitName" value="myapp-core" /> <property name="dataSource" ref="myJdbcDataSource" /> </bean> However, I recently noticed while browsing maven artifacts a "hibernate-c3p0". What is this? Is this something I need to use? Or do I already have this configured properly?

  • Using TaskDialogIndirect in C#

    - by Dennis Delimarsky
    I've been working for a while with the regular Windows Vista/7 TaskDialog for a while, and I wanted to add some additional functionality (like custom buttons and a footer), so I need to use TaskDialogIndirect. Following the MSDN documentation for TaskDialogIndirect, I got this signature: [DllImport("comctl32.dll",CharSet = CharSet.Unicode,EntryPoint="TaskDialogIndirect")] static extern int TaskDialogIndirect (TASKDIALOGCONFIG pTaskConfig, out int pnButton, out int pnRadioButton, out bool pfVerificationFlagChecked); The TASKDIALOGCONFIG class is shown below: public class TASKDIALOGCONFIG { public UInt16 cbSize; public IntPtr hwndParent; public IntPtr hInstance; public String dwFlags; public String dwCommonButtons; public IntPtr hMainIcon; public String pszMainIcon; public String pszMainInstruction; public String pszContent; public UInt16 cButtons; public TASKDIALOG_BUTTON pButtons; public int nDefaultButton; public UInt16 cRadioButtons; public TASKDIALOG_BUTTON pRadioButtons; public int nDefaultRadioButton; public String pszVerificationText; public String pszExpandedInformation; public String pszExpandedControlText; public String pszCollapsedControlText; public IntPtr hFooterIcon; public IntPtr pszFooterText; public String pszFooter; // pfCallback; // lpCallbackData; public UInt16 cxWidth; } The TASKDIALOG_BUTTON implementation: public class TASKDIALOG_BUTTON { public int nButtonID; public String pszButtonText; } I am not entirely sure if I am on the right track here. Did anyone use TaskDialogIndirect from managed code directly through WinAPI (without VistaBridge or Windows API Code Pack)? I am curious about the possible implementations, as well as the callback declarations (I am not entirely sure how to implement TaskDialogCallbackProc). PS: I am looking for a direct WinAPI implementation, not one through a wrapper.

  • Mocking an object that uses jni using EasyMock

    - by Visage
    So my class under test has code that looks braodly like this public void doSomething(int param) { Report report = new Report() ...do some calculations report.someMethod(someData) } my intention was to extract the construction of report into a protected method and override it to use a mock object that I could then test to ensure that someMethod had been called with the right data. So far so good. But Report isnt under my control, and to mkae things worse it uses JNI to load a library at runtime. If I do Report report = EasyMock.createMock(Report.class) then EasyMock attempts to use reflection to find out the class members, but this causes an attempt to load the JNI library, which fails (the JNI libraries are only available on UNIX). Im considering two things: a) Introduce a ReportWrapper interface with two implementations, one of which will delegate calls to an real Report (so basically a Proxy), and a second which will basically use a mock object. or b) instead of calling someMethod, call a protected method which will in turn call someMethod that I can override in a testing subclass. Either way it seems nasty. Any better ways?
