  • How do I combine MP4 videos? [closed]

    - by LoopyWolf
Possible Duplicate: How can I merge two mp4 files without losing quality? I hunted all over the web but found nothing - I'm trying to compile a bunch of MP4s into a single video file. VirtualDub won't touch it.. and ultra-vibe no longer exists and the other "freeware mp4 combiners" all didn't work or were hobbled. Does anyone know a way?

  • Terminology: Bounce versus restart

    - by Steve Kuo
I've always heard and used the term "reboot" or "restart" to indicate restarting a server, service or software module. "reboot the server" "restart Tomcat" "restart the XYZ service" Does "bounce" mean something different or is it just a duplicate term for restart? How is "bounce" any different than restart or reboot?

Possible Duplicate: What good, free audio CD ripping/extraction tools exist for Windows, and supporting multiple formats? I have an audio cd, which has audio files with the file format as .cda ( CD Audio Track ). Each one of these files have a size of 1 KB each, and the rest of the CD has nothing else. Is there a way that I can get the audio files from the CD and then convert it into mp3 format and then play it in any other devices as I like.

  • How do you keep track of all your passwords?

    - by Sam Saffron
How do you keep track of all your passwords? Personally I host a personal copy of clipperz, I used keepass and passpack in the past. What password manager would you recommend, what features does it have that make it awesome? Now at 70+ "answers" it's a pretty good bet that your favourite program is already mentioned. Upvote that if that's the case. If you can't yet upvote, come back when you've gained enough reputation instead of posting a duplicate answer.

  • How can one undo many hard links?

    - by tOM Trottier
I foolishly used Dupemerge to change all my duplicate files into hard links. Now Windows XP is not running right, eg, explorer won't start. Is there a utility which would traverse the filesystem looking for hard links, copy the file, delete the original link, and rename the copy, keeping the original attributes and name?

  • Install Snow Leopard on Toshiba x86 machine ? [closed]

    - by patrickinmpls
Possible Duplicate: Is it possible to install Mac OS X on customized hardware? Well, I don't think its possible - but I'm curious why not - but can someone install Mac OS's on Intel machines? For along time the architecture was different RISC vs x86, but then later they moved to x86, so how difficult is it to install Snow Leopard on a regular Wintel laptop / desktop?

  • What is the state of ext3 support in Mac OS X 10.6? [closed]

    - by gzuki
Possible Duplicate: Mount ext2/ext3 in Mac OS X Snow Leopard I have a 1tb hard drive, I want it to have one partition that can serve as an interchange between linux (ubuntu) and mac (snow leopard). HFS+ scares me a bit, and I can't seem to get a clear picture on whether or not something like fuse can reliably write ext3 partitions in mac. Any good advice on this topic? Should I just pick HFS+ or ext3 and hope for the best (or just deal with only getting read-only on one OS)?

  • Should I enter my Office product key before running sysprep?

    - by stickmangumby
I'm planning on cloning a Windows XP install, and am a little confused about sysprep. I know that it blanks out the XP product key, but what about other software? If I install Office 2007 and enter a product key, then use sysprep and create an image, will I be able to enter a new product key in clones I create from the image? Or will they all have duplicate product keys?

  • How do you test a new email filtering system?

    - by Zoredache
What method do you use to test or evaluate potential new email filtering systems before you set it up on your production network? I am particularly interested in methods that are appropriate for small/medium sized organizations with a single mail server without the resources to build a duplicate of their email system.

  • How to maintain a SSD drive on Ubuntu ?

    - by Julien Nicoulaud
I am running Ubuntu 10.04 on a Intel X25-M PostVille 160 Go SSD drive. How can I tell if there's something wrong ? What should/can I do to maintain its performance/health ? Should I use TRIM and how often ? This may look as a duplicate of this question, but I am more asking in term of good practices and learning how to use this new technology the right way...
