  • Any Red5 Working Example Project for 0.9 release

    I'm trying to find 1, just 1, working sample project for Red5 that's updated to work against the latest 0.9 release without missing jars and other nonsense. Right now, it's at v0.9 and the libs are different from other versions. They have 5 pathetic examples on their website, but all were built with the older versions, and who knows which version since they don't seem to be putting any effort into updating or marketing their open source project. For these 5 old examples, I could use the Add External JARS feature to try and add libs from previous versions, they don't mention which versions they were built against and I'm not going to try each previous version to see which works (I already did and nothing works). P.S. Voted the worst documented project on the planet. It's hilarious, one of their developers posted a few videos on youtube, without bothering to attach a sample zip for the get-started project he's demoing. No offense, but that's seriously #(#$$#($!@#*. Not a good start for any tech decision maker to assess a technology for commercial use. Anyone who's more intelligent and can shed some light on behalf of these fools?

  • How to simulate a USB drive

    Hi all, Is it possible to simulate a USB drive with software only? I mean, for example, to expose a local memory space to the OS so the device manager will recognize it as a USB device. I'm not familiar with hardware implementation, but I'm sure that it is possible somehow to emulate the USB protocol. I began with this book - USB Design By Example. Can anyone please give me additional references to begin with? Thank in advance!

    I'm quite new with as3 via cs4 so please bear with me. I'm trying to make a phone book type list that displays the users name, cellnumber and possible a delete button. --- Bob 09XXXXXXXXX delete --- Sussie 09XXXXXXXXX delete --- Johnny 09XXXXXXXXX delete --- I've tried making a list and added to it a XML dataprovider <profiles> <profile> <label>Bob</label> ... </profile> It'll then display a list of names Bob Sussie Johnny But what do I have to do in order to get it print like fig 1? I know that it has something to do with CellRender but I can't seem to find any decent examples in Google.

    If possible I would like to tile an image or MovieClip along a line using the standard moveTo() and lineTo() methods, The lines are directional so need to show something similar to >>>>>>>>>>>>>. The lines can be at any angle, so using drawRect() with beginBitmapFill() isn't an option. Also if possible I would like to have the lines animated. Is this possible or will it require a custom class?

    I have an object that points in the direction of another object (i.e. it rotates to the direction that the second objects x and y coordinates are at) below is the code I use. var distx = target.x - x; var disty = target.y - y; var angle:Number = Math.atan2(disty, distx); var vx:Number = Math.cos(angle) * cspeed; var vy:Number = Math.sin(angle) * cspeed; rotation = angle * 180/Math.PI; x += vx; y += vy; as you can see. Not only does it rotate towards the target object, but it also moves towards it too. When I play the movie, the object instantly points to the targeted object and moves towards it. I would like for it to slowly turn towards the object instead of instantly turning towards it. anyone know how to do this.

  • event listener says NetStream.Play.Start but I see no video

    I'm trying to test out the Adobe Media Server, and I'm following some tutorials in order to stream a video. I have a NetConnection which successfully connects to the application on the server, then I have the code below. It looks like it's supposed to play a video, but it doesn't. It creates the video object as a black square in the top left corner, and the event.info.code says NetStream.Play.Start, but I don't see the video playing. case "NetConnection.Connect.Success": var v:Video = new Video(); v.width=200; v.height=200; v.x=0; v.y=0; v.visible=true; v.opaqueBackground=false; stage.addChild(v); var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc); ns.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS,netStatusHandler); v.attachNetStream(ns); ns.play("mp4:polymorphics.f4v"); I can also try ns.play("rtmp://localhost/vod/mp4:tests/polymorphics.f4v"); but that gives me a Stream Not Found error The lines that begin with "ns" means that they're generated by my NetStream listener, as opposed to my NetConnection listener.     Hi there, i'm still transitioning from as2 to as3, i'm having trouble with parsing XML data to Multi dimensional array, below is the onComplete handler which is succesfully tracing 'event.target.data' but outputs 'A term is undefined and has no properties' when tracing _vein_data[0][0].xPos . Question 1) I tried making my service as a log on - as some account and i had my network drive mapped in that very account. The service still cannot access it. Why?   • set and get variables throughout moive - actionscript 3

    I need to set various variables depending on what a user clicks. Those variables then need to be accessed by other movieclips. The problem is that at the time of clicking, those "other movieclips" don't exist on the timeline yet. What I have done is assign the variable to the parent movieclip, although I guess I could just as easily set them to the root. Then I would grab that value when the relevant clip is initiated. // set - works MovieClip(parent).aMovieClip.someVariable = myVal; // get? - doesn't work getVar = MovieClip(parent).aMovieClip.someVariable; the above doesn't work - what is the correct way to get that value whenever I need it. I guess it's a case of getting and setting global variables

    I'm doing an application that puts tons of sprites on the screen in random position, like throwing cards on a table, but after a while it starts to drop the fps, because all the sprites still there. What I would like to do is adding the sprites but like an image, what's behind isn't stored.   • Can I programmatically find out if a drive is in use?

    Is there any way of programmatically finding out if a mapped drive is currently in use? If I try to unmount the drive with net use, and the drive is being used, it will tell me that the drive is in use and prompt me to take further action. I'd like to be able to unmap drive automatically if it's no longer being used. The system is a Windows XP.

  • Load all images from internal application

    I am trying to load all the .png files from an internal application folder into a list control and I am stuck on exactly how to do it. I have tried httpservice to get the folder and count how many images there are so I can loop through them but I just cant figure that out. File structure -src -(default package) -my application files -icons -all my .png files httpService i tried: <s:HTTPService id="loadAllImages" destination="/icons" result="gotImages(event)" fault="loadAllImagesFault(event)"/> This always results in directory not found. Am I going about this completely wrong? Anyone have a suggestion?

    I have a bit of a quandary. I need to call a function inside a MovieClip once a particular sound has finished playing. The sound is played via a sound channel in an external class which I have imported. Playback is working perfectly.   • [as3] Movieclip.width returns higher value than Movieclip stage on Width.

    I have a Movieclip on stage with nested movieclips inside. All referenced at 0,0. None of the child movieclips load any dynamic content, animate or have Masked Layers. It does have an input textfield in one of the child MCs. The parent MC shows 280 px width, while it returns 313 px with a .width trace. There is no code that alters the .width value of the parent MC at run-time. And the ParentMC on stage is not scaled (it is at 100% width/height). Any pointers, to what could be the reasons for the discrepancy in .width values on stage and on run-time? Its breaking the scaling code that follows.

    Hi All, i am using a data grid in flex and i am generating data from a mysql server. However, my problem is with adding a button within the datagrid so each row has one. i have set the columns itemRenderer to mx.controls.Button although with the buttons shown in the grid there is no label on them (even though one has been set) and the assigned click event does not trigger when hitting the button. anyone have any ideas or guidance on what i am doing wrong.   • AS3: How can I access a movieclip in a different scene?

    I want to access a MovieClip in another scene than I'm currently in. More specific I want to set a TextField to a certain value from a "preloader"-scene. This is for handling totally dynamic language phrases. Maybe this is the wrong way. I'm loading a XML with language phrases that I want to replace the textfields with. We could do this by altering all MovieClips, but I think this could be a smart solution, if it's possible! :)

  • Is it possible to authenticate user manually with oauth2

    I want to authenticate a user with oauth2 to access google drive. I can get the access token required when using AccountManager to retrieve an account and then get the token with: mgr.blockingGetAuthToken(account, ApiConst.DRIVE_AUTH_SCOPE, true); But I want the user to be able to authenticate by providing username and password instead of using the account added to the phone. Is this possible? EDIT So I have tried to implement the authorization in a WebView. I followed this example. I have extracted the code request parameter but the code used to retrieve the access token seems to be deprecated and not compatible with the packages used by Google Drive SDK. This is the code used to retrieve the access token in the example: AccessTokenResponse accessTokenResponse = new GoogleAuthorizationCodeGrant(new NetHttpTransport(), new JacksonFactory(), OAuth2ClientCredentials.CLIENT_ID, OAuth2ClientCredentials.CLIENT_SECRET, code, OAuth2ClientCredentials.REDIRECT_URI).execute(); Can this be done in some other way or should I just give up?
