  I have setup MailEnable Standard on my server and have created the PostOffice (domain/mailbox) for the domain which I intend to be using. I have the DNS settings in GoDaddy like this: A (Host) Host: '@' Points To: IP MX Record Priority: 0 Host: 'mx' Points To: @ Is there anything in IIS that needs to be done to make mx.domain.com work as a mail server that can be used in other domain names? Additionally, On the firewall, I have the Outbound port 25 open, not sure, should I be opening port 25 on Inbound as well?

• CAS auth fails while migrating wordpress-mu from apache to IIS

  Having an issue migrating a wordpress-mu installation that I have running with cas authentication enabled (using wpcas and phpcas 1.1.0) from apache on an ubuntu machine to IIS on a windows 2008 machine. While CAS authed fine under linux, I'm getting a "CAS Authentication failed! You were no authenticated." page that pops up whenever I enter in a correct login. Anyone know whats up or if there are some logs I can look at to get more info?

I am in no mans land as I am a developer and not a sys admin but I have to assume many roles. So I'm reaching out for help. Sometimes I will see hundreds of these 'C0000005' scriptengine errors in the event log in a matter of seconds and other times just a few times an hour. I googled this line 'ASP!CACTIVESCRIPTENGINE::GETAPPLICATION' and got nothing. Its like the function don't exist or something.   In Win2k3 I used httpcfg to tell IIS to listen to specific IP addresses on the server. I want to run Apache with VisualSVN Server on port 80 on another IP address but IIS7 binds to all ports by default. What utility for IIS7 controls the IIS7 bindings? Update: I found the answer. There is a utility called netsh. netsh http add iplisten ipaddress=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx By default there are not IP addresses on the list so IIS7 will bind to all IP addressed. If you add one IP to the list it will listen to just that IP or any IP added to the list. It is necessary to restart IIS7 for the change to take affect.

  I am trying to set SSL Host Headers and Secure Site Bindings in IIS7. I followed the directions on this website http://www.digicert.com/ssl-support/ssl-host-headers-iis-7.htm (among others), but when I run the appcmd command mentioned, I get the error "Object 'SET' is not supported. Run 'appcmd.exe /?' to display supported objects". I have also tryed "appcmd site set" but it still returns the same error. What am I doing wrong?   We have Helicon ISAPI Rewrite 3 installed on our Windows 2003 Web server. The RewriteRules work fine in the global file located in the httpd.conf file. The server serves several Web sites and we were hoping to create RewriteRules to apply to specific Web sites. In the IIS Properties for each Web site there exists a separate tab for ISAPI_Rewrite pointing to the .htaccess file for that Web site. No rules applied to the .htaccess files work. Any ideas why the .htaaccess files have no effect.

  I decided to post this because I battled to find out how to do it and couldnt see anything on Stackoverflow about it. Often when you host with a provider like GoDaddy, they have "Custom Error Messages" set to ON. What I didnt realise was that the web.config settings dont just apply to ASP.NET, they apply to all applications on YOUR IIS site and hence will sort this problem out for Classic ASP as well (very few GoDaddy support people even know this) All you need to do is add the following to your web.config OR, for those using Classic ASP, just create a web.config file in your ROOT with this code in it. <configuration> <system.webServer> <asp scriptErrorSentToBrowser="true"/> <httpErrors errorMode="Detailed"/> </system.webServer> </configuration>

• SBS2003 OWA not displaying images on external side

  I've got an SBS 2003 server with companyweb/remote owa site. After authenticating remotely to the https:/servername/remote site, and then clicking on Use Outlook Web Access, the mail/owa site displays only limited amounts of data with Loading... displayed (see first image). This is different when viewing the site on the server itself (see second image). Different browsers will display different types of data (last screenshot is Chrome - first two are IE). I feel IIS permissions on the virtual directories is the cause, but not certain. Forms-based authentication etc is working ok etc. Any suggestions? Authentication and getting email via ActiveSync is not a problem. I don't want to break anything, and it's not a major problem because the users only get their email via outlook and iphones anyway without problems. I'm more interested in finding out for my own info so please give me some suggestions to try. Thanks for looking!

• Coldfusion 8 crash

  I have a very big problem with coldfusion 8 on Windows server 2008 with IIS7. They are in production server and sometimes the the site is not available, I have to manually end the jrun.exe process from task manager and then the site is available. I realize that the process jrun.exe has abut 1.3Gb of memory used at the time it crash's. It happens 2-3 times a day, I have looking in the coldfusion logs and I did not found anything strange beside some warnings that some job exceeded the 300 sec of time execution. I forgot to mention that coldfusion is a 32bit application but the windows is a 64bit, this may be the problem? I'm not such good in coldfusion, so If someone knows how to troubleshoot please let me know Thanks!
