  • group member dropdown in visual studio 2008

    - by knittl
in visual studio is the member dropdown, where you can select all members of the current type alphabetically ordered. is there an option which allows grouping of the members? i.e. all constructors before all methods before all properties before all events before all fields? if there is not, bad for me, i guess—it would really enhance productivity

  • How to set Visual Studio to Publish pdf files

    - by TheAlbear
Is there a way to set visual studio to publish all pdf files? I know that you can set each indivdual pdf file in a project with the "Copy to Outpub Directory" property. But that means doing the same thing 100's of times for my current project, is there a way to change a global setting to do the same thing?

  • Word 2007 Documents in Visual Studio 2010

    - by Will Eddins
I'm currently using Visual Studio 2010 Professional, and noticed the ability to create Word 2007 and Word 2010 documents with C# code-behinds. What I'm looking to do is fill in a report-type document with information in my C# application, and then output the final .docx. Is this possible using this feature, and how do I go about doing it?

  • Run multiple copies of an app from Visual Studio

    - by HeavyWave
How can I run multiple copies of the same app in Debug with Visual Studio? For instance, how do I run app.exe /option1 and app.exe /option2 and still debug both? I know I can run them manually and then attach, but I want an automated solution. I have tried writing a small console app just to run 2 processes, but obviously they are not being run under debugger. Any ideas?

  • Basic visual studio intellisense question

    - by maxp
Ive used visual studio for years, but the answer this eludes me: When intellisense pops up, for a method call that takes more than one parameter, the summary for the first parameter is shown. The only way i've found to show the summary for the following parameter(s) is to either supply each parameter or just hit comma until i get the one im looking for. Ive tried ctrl+right arrow, shift + right arrow etc etc, without success. Just curious is all.

  • Visual Studio code generated when choosing to explicitly implement interface

    - by fearofawhackplanet
Sorry for the vague title, but I'm not sure what this is called. Say I add IDisposable to my class, Visual Studio can create the method stub for me. But it creates the stub like: void IDisposable.Dispose() I don't follow what this syntax is doing. Why do it like this instead of public void Dispose()? And with the first syntax, I couldn't work out how to call Dispose() from within my class (in my destructor).

  • How to auto-sync Header in Visual Studio ?

    - by fk2
Do you know if there is a build-in feature or free add-in for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 that easily generates C-Headers and keeps them in sync with their .c counterparts? I have already looked at Visual Assist X, but I'm not really willing to pay money at the moment.

  • Code management in different projects with different svn repositories

    - by uzay95
First of all I want to tell you what kind of system I have and I want to build on. 1- A Solution (has) a- Shared Class Library project (which is for lots of different solutions) b- Another Class Library project (which is only for this solution) c- Web Application project (which main part of this solution) d- Shared Web Service project (which also serves for different solutions) 2- B Solution (has) a- Shared Class Library project (which is for lots of different solutions) c- Windows Form Application project (which is main part of this solution) d- Web Service project (which also serves for different solutions) and other projects like that.... I am using xp-dev.com as our svn repository server. And I opened different projects for these items (Shared Class Library, Web Service project, Windows Form Application project, Web Application project, Another Class Library project) . I want to do the versioning of all these projects of course. My first question is, should I put each project(one solution) to one svn repository to get their revision number later on? Or should I put each of them to different svn repository and keep( write down) their correct version number that is used to publish/deploy every solution? If I use one svn for each project(Shared Class Lib, Web App, Shared Web Service....) how can I relate the right svn address and version on VS.2010 within the real solution? So, how do you manage your repositories and projects?

  • Model binding broke after upgrade to Visual Studio 2010

    - by John
I have an ASP.net MVC 1.0 VS2008 application that I just opened in Visual Studio 2010. When I did this Studio upgraded the app from VS2008 to the VS2010 project. It also upgraded the MVC references from 1.0 to 2.0. In my app I have a class for a form post, I then use the class for the model binding in the Action method so it will auto populate the values. This worked fine in mvc 1.0 but now it does not work in 2.0 after the upgrade. Does does anyone know why? Or where I should look to resolve this? Here is my class, public class Add_Postal_Form_Input { public string ACTION_RDO { get; set; } public string POSTALSELECT { get; set; } public string CNY_CD { get; set; } public string S_PST_LOW { get; set; } public string R_PST_LOW { get; set; } public string R_PST_HI { get; set; } public string G_PST_LOW { get; set; } public string G_GRP_CD { get; set; } public string CAT_CD { get; set; } public string SUB_CD { get; set; } public string ATTR_VAL { get; set; } public string NBG_HR { get; set; } public string NBG_MN { get; set; } public string REC_STT_DT { get; set; } public string REC_END_DT { get; set; } public string DEFAULT_DATE { get; set; } } Here is the method, [AcceptVerbs("POST")] public PartialViewResult AddData(Add_Postal_Form_Input FORM_IN) { Thanks
