Now, the Package manager isn't showing any update of the following package and some others too : SGML::Parser::OpenSP version 0.991 required--this is only version 0.99 at C:/www/validator/httpd/cgi-bin/check line 61. Q : How can I download the latest package for OpenSP ? Q : Would It be just a matter of click and install the package?   I have written an app that connects to a server IIS 6 to retrieve information. When doing this i have collected data (phone model etc) and send it to the server with a regular GET HTTP call like this: http://www.myserver.com/getData.php?phonemodel=userphone&appversion=2&id=20 This is logged in the IIS logfiles. I thought of writing my own parser for log files. But why invent the wheel? I´m looking for a software that can read the IIS 6 logfiles. I would like it to be able to do: Extraction - Extract all lines that contains: www.myserver.com/getData Filtering - View all lines where http-code is not 200 Queries - View all lines where phonemodel=iphone Any tips on free software that can help me with this? • What is the best way to handle the multitude of different logs created all around the place?

  I run a few applications which creates their own logs. Then I run cron scripts on the same server to do importing of data for my app. When these cron errors out, the default is it sends emails to the user that runs the cron job. There are just too many places that I need to check the logs and mails for stuff that might have potentially went wrong. My question is, what is the best way to do this or even better is like a log parser application which will go through all the system logs when something really goes wrong instead of me having to go through it daily?

  I have a virtual directory in my web app which connects to a Samba share via UNC. I can browse the files via Windows Explorer without issue, but my web app throws a yellow screen with the following message: Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately. Parser Error Message: An error occurred loading a configuration file: Could not find file '\cluster\cms\qa-images\120400\web.config'. What makes no sense to me is why it's looking for a web.config in that location. I know it's not an authentication issue because the virtual directory can serve images from its root (i.e. \cluster\cms\qa-images\test.jpg serves as http://myserver/upload/test.jpg just fine).

• Nginx config with try_files and rewrite : precedence?

Firstly, this question may have been already asked, but I searched ServerFault during about 15 minutes without finding it, so, if it was already asked, please accept my apologies. I'm trying to rationalize my Nginx server config, but I have a rather dumb question that I couldn't solve, even with extensive Web search, except if I totally f*cked my search. Here is the question : is try_files parsed before or after rewrite ? Asked differently, Do I have to put try_files after all rewrite directives, or is Nginx config parser smart enough to evaluate try_files after all relevant rewrite directives ? The link with the config rationalization is that the answer to this question will change the organisation of the config, ie if config file order of try_files and rewrite changes the config behaviour, it will force me to disperse my includes, some of them containing try_files and other ones containing rewrite, because I also have rewrite directly in nginx.conf. • Need ability to set configuration options using single method which will work across multiple server configurations.

  I'm trying to set post_max_size and upload_max_filesize in a specific directory for a web application I'm building. I've tried the following in a .htaccess file in the script directory. (upload.php is the script that needs the special configuration) <Files upload.php> php_value upload_max_filesize 9998M php_value post_max_size 9999M </Files> That doesn't work at all. I've tried it without the scriptname specificity, where the only thing in the .htaccess file is: php_value upload_max_filesize 9998M php_value post_max_size 9999M This works on my pc-based xampp server, but throws a "500 Misconfiguration Error" on my production server. I've tried also creating a php.ini file in the directory with: post_max_size = 9999M upload_max_filesize = 9998M But this also doesn't always work. And lastly using the following in the php script doesn't work either, supposedly because the settings have already been compiled by the time the parser reaches the line (?): <?php ini_set('post_max_size','9999M'); ini_set('upload_max_filesize','9998M'); ?>

• Safely delete a TFS branch project

  I'm currently reorganising our TFS source control for a very large set of solutions, and I've done this successfully so far. I have a problem at the moment where I need to delete a legacy "Release Branch" TFS project that was branched for the old structure, and is no-longer required since I now host a release branch within the new structure. This is an example of how the source control now looks after moving everything: $/Source Project /Trunk /[Projects] /Release /[Projects] $/Release Branch Project /[Projects] /[Other legacy stuff] So far I've found information that says: tf delete /lock:checkout /recursive TestMain to delete a branch. TfsDeleteProject to delete a project tf delete seems to be only relevant when I need to delete a branch that is within the same project as the trunk, and TfsDeleteProject doesn't seem like it will delete the branch association from the source project (I hope I'm wrong, see below). Can someone tell me if the above will work, and in what order I should perform them in, to successfully delete the TFS $/Release Branch Project while also deleting the branch association (from right-click $/Source Project - Properties - Branches)?

  I've heard many times that all programming is really a subset of math. Some suggest that OO, at its roots, is mathematically based. I don't get the connection. Aside from some obvious examples: using induction to prove a recursive algorithm formal correctness proofs functional languages lambda calculus asymptotic complexity DFAs, NFAs, Turing Machines, and theoretical computation in general the fact that everything on the box is binary In what ways is programming really a subset of math? I'm looking for an explanation that might have relevance to enterprise/OO development (if there is a strong enough connection, that is). Thanks in advance. Edit: as I stated in a comment to an answer, math is uber important to programming, but what I struggle with is the "subset" argument.

  Hey guys, I've been beating my head against this absolutely infuriating bug for the last 48 hours, so I thought I'd finally throw in the towel and try asking here before I throw my laptop out the window. I'm trying to parse the response XML from a call I made to AWS SimpleDB. The response is coming back on the wire just fine; for example, it may look like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ListDomainsResponse xmlns="http://sdb.amazonaws.com/doc/2009-04-15/"> <ListDomainsResult> <DomainName>Audio</DomainName> <DomainName>Course</DomainName> <DomainName>DocumentContents</DomainName> <DomainName>LectureSet</DomainName> <DomainName>MetaData</DomainName> <DomainName>Professors</DomainName> <DomainName>Tag</DomainName> </ListDomainsResult> <ResponseMetadata> <RequestId>42330b4a-e134-6aec-e62a-5869ac2b4575</RequestId> <BoxUsage>0.0000071759</BoxUsage> </ResponseMetadata> </ListDomainsResponse> I pass in this XML to a parser with XMLEventReader eventReader = xmlInputFactory.createXMLEventReader(response.getContent()); and call eventReader.nextEvent(); a bunch of times to get the data I want. Here's the bizarre part -- it works great inside the local server. The response comes in, I parse it, everyone's happy. Nothing; it passes every validation test I could throw at it. Even stranger, it happens if I use a Saxon-based parser as well -- but ONLY on GAE, it always works fine in my local environment. It makes it very hard to trace the code for problems when I can only run the debugger on an environment that works perfectly (I haven't found any good way to remotely debug on GAE). Nevertheless, using the primitive means I have, I've tried a million approaches including: XML with and without the prolog With and without newlines With and without the "encoding=" attribute in the prolog Both newline styles With and without the chunking information present in the HTTP stream And I've tried most of these in multiple combinations where it made sense they would interact -- nothing! I'm at my wit's end. Has anyone seen an issue like this before that can hopefully shed some light on it? Thanks!

  Algorithm to generate all possible letter combinations of given string down to 2 letters Trying to create an Anagram solver in AS3, such as this one found here: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/adam.bozon/anagramsolver.htm I'm having a problem wrapping my brain around generating all possible letter combinations for the various lengths of strings. If I was only generating permutations for a fixed length, it wouldn't be such a problem for me... but I'm looking to reduce the length of the string and obtain all the possible permutations from the original set of letters for a string with a max length smaller than the original string. For example, say I want a string length of 2, yet I have a 3 letter string of “abc”, the output would be: ab ac ba bc ca cb. Ideally the algorithm would produce a complete list of possible combinations starting with the original string length, down to the smallest string length of 2. I have a feeling there is probably a small recursive algorithm to do this, but can't wrap my brain around it. I'm working in AS3. Thanks!

  I have the following models in CakePHP: A Deposit belongs to an Account An Account belongs to a Customer I want to have a list of Deposits, and I need to show the name of the customer (so I have to join through the Customer). I also need to paginate this list. If I set Deposit->recursive = 2, I can get the Customer, however, CakePHP runs one query joining Deposit and Account, and then runs one query per each Deposit, to get the Customer. How can I make it get both models with only one query? I tried this, but it didn't work: $this->paginate = array('joins' => array( array( 'table' => 'customers', 'alias' => 'AccountCustomer', 'type' => 'inner', 'foreignKey' => false, 'conditions' => array('Account.customer_id = AccountCustomer.id') ) )); Any ideas?   I'm reviewing some old notes from my algorithms course and the dynamic programming problems are seeming a bit tricky to me. I have a problem where we have an unlimited supply of coins, with some denominations x1, x2, ... xn and we want to make change for some value X. We are trying to design a dynamic program to decide whether change for X can be made or not (not minimizing the number of coins, or returning which coins, just true or false). I've done some thinking about this problem, and I can see a recursive method of doing this where it's something like...   I have a program that does recursive calls for 2 billion times and the stack overflow. I make changes, and then it still need 40K resursive calls. So I need probably serveral MB stack memory. I heard the stack size is default to 1MB. I tried search online. Some one said to go properties -linker .........in visual studio, but I cannot find it. Does anybody knows how to increase it? Also I am wondering if I can set it somewhere in my C# program? P.S. I am using 32-bit winXP and 64bit win7.

• Is recursion ever faster than looping?

  I know that recursion is sometimes a lot cleaner than looping, and I'm not asking anything about when I should use recursion over iteration, I know there are lots of questions about that already. What I'm asking is, is recursion ever faster than a loop? To me it seems like, you would always be able to refine a loop and get it to perform more quickly than a recursive function because the loop is absent constantly setting up new stack frames. I'm specifically looking for whether recursion is faster in applications where recursion is the right way to handle the data, such as in some sorting functions, in binary trees, etc.

• Delete merge history in a branch in TFS

  Suppose I have a main branch and a dev branch. Suppose I merge some stuff from dev into main. I check in the merge Now I decide "whoops, the dev branch wasn't really ready for me to merge into main yet." I want to tell TFS: remove that change set from main and forget that the merge ever happened. Rolling back the changeset is easy enough -- I can use the TFS powertools ROLLBACK command. on the Main branch (with the /changeset /recursive flags) However, I will get a warning from the rollback that the merge history for the files has not been deleted. Effect: Later, when dev is ready to be merged into main, the changes in the files that were rolled back previously are NOT merged into Main (this is because TFS "thinks" that those merges are already done. My goal: When I rollback, make TFS remove the merge history so that when I merge dev into main later on, everything merges. How can I do that? BTW: I'm using TFS 2008 SP1

• .gitconfig error

  I edited my .gitconfig file to add support for LabView and it appears that I did something that Git doesn't exactly like. The problem is it (Git) doesn't tell me what it doesn't like. What did I do wrong? • iPhone Crash Report

  My iPhone app is crashing for certain users in UK. I tried using UK timezone and their region format but couldn't reproduce the crash on my iPhone or emulator.
