  • Combo/Input LOV displaying non-reference key value

    Its a very common use-case of LOV that we want to diplay a non key value in the LOV but store the key value in the DB. I had to do the same in a sample application I was building. During implementation of this, I realized that there are multiple ways to achieve this.I am going to describe each of these below.Example : Lets take an example of our classic HR schema. I have 2 tables Employee and Department where Dno is the foreign key attribute in Employee that references Department table.I want to create a LOV for Deparment such that the List always displays Dname instead of Dno.   • Easy user management on html site?

    I hope I'm not asking a question for which the answer is obvious...If I am, apologies. Within my html site (i.e. not Wordpress, Joomla, etc.) I want to be able to have a level of user management. That means that some pages I want to be only accessible to certain people with the correct username and password. What's the best way to do this? Are there any available scripts out there?   • Lubuntu Desktop messed up for logged in user, but not for guest

    I recently upgraded my laptop from Lubuntu 12.04 to 14.04.1 and the upgrade process seemed to go fine. However, when I went to login as my normal user, I encountered an issue. The background loaded up, but none of LXDE or LXPanel showed up, leaving me with an empty desktop and nothing else except two errors. I thought that this was weird, so I just figured something had been messed up and would be fixed by a reboot. But it wasn't. I then tried logging in as guest, and it's just fine. I checked the ~/.xsession-errors file (for my main user, not guest, did it via TTY1) and this is what I got: Script for ibus started at run_im. Script for auto started at run_im. Script for default started at run_im. init: Unable to register as subreaper: Invalid argument init: lxsession main process (1649) killed by TERM signal init: Disconnected from notified D-Bus bus init: job dbus failed to stop init: job upstart-dbus-session-bridge failed to stop init: job upstart-dbus-system-bridge failed to stop init: job upstart-file-bridge failed to stop I also read the sometimes removing the ~/.Xauthority file can help, if the ownership is messed up. ls -l /home/MYUSER/.Xauthority tells me -rw------- 1 MYUSER MYUSER 60 Aug 16 09:57 /home/MYUSER/.Xauthority. Should that be root or something else, or should I try deleting that and ~/.profile.     Hi, I was suggested when I have some further questions on my older ones, to create newer Question and reffer to old one. So, this is the original question: CPU I/O communication OK, I have just 2 more questions. 1, How is MMIO set? I mean, lets say I have developed some extension card with PCI interface. How do you say to memory controller to redirect desired memory space to my card´s RAM? I mean, I think standart text-mode VGA MMIO adress is 0x8000. Is this HW set (every motherboard automatically redirects 0x8000 adress to PCI-E) or its just standart and can be changed (VGA says to motherboard: give me memory mapped IO at 0x8000) 2, Can one expansion card have more MMIO connections? I mean, lets say I have card with 10 Bytes of RAM. Can Bytes 0-4 be mapped to 0x0 and bytes 5-9 to 0x5000? Please, if you know about some good article about this, please post link. Thanks.

How much detail can acceptance criteria have? This is my example: User Story: As forum administrator I will connect persons in groups, so that people can get organized. Acceptance Criteria: The creation of a person group happens below a person group pool (person group pool is an object also visually available in the current software system) The creation happens with a context menu of the persongroup pool.   • Report Builder 2.0 - Creating DataSet - User Not Authorized

    Hello, we are currently using SQL Server Reporting Services and we would like to use Report Builder so our customers can create reports themselves. I have created a User on the server. I have added this user to the SQLServerMSSQLUser and SQLServerReportServerUser groups. I have given this User db_datareader access to the required database and to the Reporting Services database. I've also tried giving the User db_owner access to the Reporting Services db's. And on the Report Manager, this User is a System_User, but has all access (every checkbox is checked). When I connect using Report Builder, I can select the Report Model to create a DataSource, but when I try to create a DataSet, I get the following error: An error occurred while connection to datasource 'DataSource1'. The details are: 'User Not Authorized'. Does anyone know what server permissions I forgot to set? I'm assuming it's a Windows permissions issue because I do not see any database login errors in the event logs.

    I have a gaming headset and use it with a few devices and am looking for a way to stream my audio through my pc from tv through the mic jack and then through the optical out. the system is detecting sound from the mic port. I would put this directly through the headset but that port is being used by my ps3. So I would like a way as I said to stream it through my pc to my headset, and it be great to have an integrated volume option in the sound drop down too. [TV - mic - Ubuntu - headset(optical out)] Ubuntu 13.04 EDIT I found part of a solution. Solution by installing pavucontrol and using "pactl load-module module-loopback latency_msec=1" I can stream the audio through my pc.

    I am running windows XP, I have a MS Natural Erganomic Keyboard 4000 v1.0, now and again the Ctrl button will stick (not physically), usually in the process of changing to a different window. It happens around 6 or 7 times a day. Really annoying. I've changed Keyboards (same type). Anyone know how to prevent this from happening?

    First off I am a linux newbie so please don't assume much knowledge. I am using CentOS 5.8 (final) and using OpenSSH version 5.8p1. I have made a user playwithbits and I am attempting to chroot them to the directory home/nginx/domains/playwithbits/public I am using the following match statement in my sshd_config file: Match group web-root-locked ChrootDirectory /home/nginx/domains/%u/public X11Forwarding no AllowTcpForwarding no ForceCommand /usr/libexec/openssh/sftp-server # id playwithbits returns: uid=504(playwithbits) gid=504(playwithbits) groups=504(playwithbits),507(web-root-locked) I have changed the user's home directory to: home/nginx/domains/playwithbits/public Now when I attempt to sftp in with this user I instantly get the message: connection closed Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?   • bash profile works for user but not sudo

    I've modified my .profile to include a folder if a flash drive is plugged in. When running the command as the user it works fine but tells me the scrip must be run by sudo (this is what i want). However, when i try to run it with sudo i get "command not found" I have a symlink (flash) in my /var/www folder pointing to my /media/flash drive. (nevermind this setup since is just for dev) this is my user's .profile : # set PATH so it includes flash scripts if [ -d "/var/www/flash/scripts" ] ; then PATH="/var/www/flash/scripts:$PATH" fi when trying to run as sudo i get: sudo: script: command not found any ideas?

  • CPU I/O communication

    Hi, I know there is this question already discussed, but I still don´t understand something, so please just help me clarify it. What I understand there is 2 way to do I/O aka communicate from CPU with other HW. One is to use in and out instructions, and second is the memory mapped. But what I don´t actually understand is, is IN and OUT instructions are used, you define source port. But what is this port? I mean, is it different set of pins on CPU or what? And, to what is that port connected? And for the memory mapped, I miss just a tiny detail. Wheather memory mapped I/O must be first set by IN and OUT instructions, or does the device actually somehow itself connects to the RAM and reads it? Thanks.

  • X window (or whole linux system) replace Caps Lock with ESC *and* Control

    on windows there are several key maps applications that replaces Caps lock with ESC on a single 'press and relase' and with a Control signal if hold and another key is pressed. Is there any way to do something similar on linux? Ideally on the whole system, but if it is only for X window it is fine too. i'm currently writting scripts with the xautomation package tools. but i guess there is already a better way to do that via configurations.

  • No keyboard input until after GRUB

    I have a computer that I dual boot between Ubuntu 11.10 and Windows 7. I installed Windows first, and Ubuntu second. When I boot, the GRUB menu comes up, showing me the option to select to boot to Ubuntu at the top of the list, and to boot to Windows at the bottom. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, any key I press on the keyboard (connected by USB) does not get any response, so I can't actually select to boot to anything but Ubuntu (which is the default selection). Once Ubuntu loads and I am at the log in screen, then the keyboard (and mouse) work perfectly normally thereafter. Why would my keyboard not work only during GRUB? And how do I fix it?

  • Gvim on Windows 7: ALT codes not working

    I would like to be able to enter ALT codes in Gvim on Windows 7 as documented on the following site: Alt Codes On Windows (Windows 7 in my case), to generate a character via an ALT code you make sure that the NumLock key on your keypad is toggled on, hold down the ALT key, enter the keycode on the numeric keypad, and then release the ALT key. However this does not work in Gvim on Windows (which ignores the fact that I am pressing the ALT key and just prints to entered keypad key directly onto the screen). How can I get these keystroke combinations to work in Gvim as well? Thanks. EDIT: As the answer below points out, the way to insert non-ASCII characters for which you do not have entries on your keyboard without changing the keyboard layout is as follows: Make sure you are in insert mode, and then type CTRL-V followed by the Unicode character code of interest, for instance: CTRL-V u00E0 (generates à) CTRL-V u00C8 (generates È) CTRL-V u00E8 (generates è) CTRL-V u00E9 (generates é) CTRL-V u00EC (generates ì) CTRL-V u00F2 (generates ò) etc...   • Weird XDG User Dir resetting bug

    I have a weird problem with 12.04 LTS. Regardless of what I do to the ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs file, whenever I login again the next time, that file gets all set to $HOME only. Something is happening during login using lightdm that overrides the contents of that file. If I login and do a xdg-user-dirs-update --force then the contents of the file are OK. After I logout, the file is still OK. It's when I login again using lightdm that something goes wrong. It's quite annoying.
