  If I have have some overloaded ostream operators, defined for library local objects, is its okay for them to go to std namespace? If I do not declare them in std namespace, then I must use using ns:: operator <<. As a possible follow-up question, are there any operators which should go to standard or global namespace?

• Easiest way to position camera in XNA?

  Everytime I load my model into XNA, I can usually see it far off in the distance. When I change some parameters and make it zoom up close, 10/10 times it's rotated funny and I'm set with the task of rotating it. Is there any easy way to do it except by experimenting? Or am I exporting it wrong (using Blender)? Is there any value I should set the objects in my 3d scene to be before exporting it so they appear 'upright'?

• Determining when or when not to escape output

  I have a page, where I have approximately 90 items I need to output. Most of them are object properties (I am using ORM so these objects map to my database tables). But the question is, do I have to escape each of those 90 outputs by applying functions to each (in my case, the htmlspecialchars)? Wouldn't that add a bit of an overhead (calling a single function 90 times)?

I'm hitting some pain points involving the management, access, and unit testing for this. Is the resource editor a good tool to use to maintain images for the application?   Hello. I'm developing an ASP classic site under Windows 7 (form a queue ladies). The problem is IIS seems to be heavily making use of its cache for both static and dynamic content which really conflicts with my 'make a small change, alt-tab, hit ctrl-F5' development style. Changes made to .asp files may take two or three refreshes to show up where as changes to .js files can take 20 times as many. How do I go about turning the caching off on my development machine?   I have the following model: class Service(models.Model): ratings = models.ManyToManyField(User) Now if I wanna get all the service with ratings sorted in descending order I did something: services_list = Service.objects.filter(ratings__gt=0).distinct() services_list = list(services_list) services_list.sort(key=lambda service: service.ratings.all().count(), reverse=True) As you can see its a three step process and I don't feel right about this. Anybody who knows a better way to do this?

• Do I need to recompile PHP to make use of CURL API?

  I have both Apache and PHP set up manually, albeit the latter without CURL. There is this jungle of instructions and explanations on extensions for PHP. I have a very straightforward question - what do I need to do to enable CURL in a more dynamic way. I resent the idea of static linking, in fact I hate and avoid static linking like the plague. Is it possible to have my Apache and PHP understand that there is CURL in town? I can compile CURL if necessary. Package management may be out of the question, because I built PHP myself - I am on Ubuntu, and it does not provide PHP without Suhosin and a a whole lot of time, so I removed it and built PHP myself. The whole slew of related questions simply propse installing "php5-curl" package, which is exactly one thing I CANNOT do since it installs it in a completely unrelated directory, which my PHP does not even seem to bother linking to.

• Multitenant NHibernate application with with separate SQL Server schema for each tenant

  I am writing a new multi-tenant WCF RIA application. I plan to have a shared database with separate SQL Server schema for each tenant. I would like to use NHibernate for object-ralational mapping. Configuration of SQL Server schema in mapping classes doesn't help because it is static and would need one set of mapping classes for each tenant. Is it possible to dynamically configure ISession which SQL Server schema should be used for mapping objects to tables?

  Hello all, I am currently in the process of designing an interface for .NET software that would be consumed by COM objects - specifically, VB6. While I have found a number of pages by Microsoft detailing how to make an COM-interoperable interface, I am currently tripping over the use of Collections in design time: I would like to be able to use a standard VB6 "Collection object" in the .NET program - for example, specify an argument as being a VB6 collection - and thus minimize the time necessary for clients to consume the interface.   i have written a object selection algorithm which picks the objects by there color. i give every object an unique color and then i just have to use the glReadPixels method to check which object was selected this works fine and is really fast but the problem is that the frame is displayed on the screen with all the picking-colors so the screen flashes every time you select something. so my question is: how do i write everything in the correct display buffer but dont display it on the screen to avoid these flashes?

  I'm working on a Django timesheet application and am having trouble figuring out how to include aggregate sums that equal zero. If I do something like: entries = TimeEntry.objects.all().values("user__username").annotate(Sum("hours")) I get all users that have time entries and their sums. [{'username': u'bob' 'hours__sum':49}, {'username': u'jane' 'hours__sum':10}] When I filter that by a given day: filtered_entries = entries.filter(date="2010-05-17") Anyone who didn't enter time for that day is excluded. Is there a way to include those users who's sums are 0? Thanks

  I've read lots of tutorials on how to deserialize a JSON object to an object of a particular using DataContractJsonSerializer. However, I'd like to deserialize my object to a Dictionary consisting of either Strings, Arrays or Dictionaries, such as System.Json does with SilverLight when I say JsonObject.Parse(myJSONstring). Is there an equivalent to System.Json that I can use in my WPF project? • Can Ping but Cannot Telnet directly to SQL Server 2012 Cluster Nodes

  We have a monitoring tool (Solarwinds Orion) that needs to connect to a 2-node failover SQL Server Cluster. For reasons outside of our control -- we cannot monitor the CLUSTER IP directly at this time, so we have fallen back to monitoring each cluster node IP directly. This is not working. Upon troubleshooting, we tried to test that the cluster node was listening on the proper (fixed) port by using telnet to the cluster node IP/port -- and the telnet failed. However, telnet'ing to the Cluster IP/Port was SUCCESSFUL! Each node has its own IP. Each node is listening on the identical FIXED port. Each node has Dynamic Ports disabled. Each node can be PINGED successfully from the monitoring tool. Windows Firewall is DISABLED. How can I troubleshoot why I cannot telnet to the listening port on the cluster nodes?
