  • Database structure for versioning and multiple languages

    How can I solve the issue of content existing in multiple versions and multiple languages? My current structure: Each content can only have one active version in each language, and that's how I'm curious on how to best solve. Right now I have a column of the contentversions table, which means for each change of active version I have to run a update and set active=false on all version and then a update to set active=true for the piece of content in question.

    we have a portal that have SQL server 2005 database that contain about 1750 stored procedures , 250 view and 200 function and 95% of them not have handling exception in their code .. we search about any way that allow us making such a global exception handling in SQL that receive any exception happen in any SP,view or function and stored it in a table we made .. is there something like this in SQL server 2005 or we must write exception handling code on each item ?

    I'm inserting new rows into a SQLite table, but I don't want to insert duplicate rows. I also don't want to specify every column in the database if possible. I don't even know if this is possible. I should be able to take my values and create a new row with them, but if they duplicate another row they should either overwrite the existing row or do nothing.

    I have one problem with users menu. So, I want, that authenticated user can see his/her profile page and logout (links) in menu. It works (when I logging in) on index page: index, page1, profile, logout ,but, if I go to the, for example, page1 I can see in menu: index, page1, login, not profile and logout.     Long story short is I tried to quickly update a single row in SQL Server using the Management studio and just typed UPDATE table SET column='value' and forgot the WHERE other_column='other_value' portion. Went for lunch, came back and theres 15 unread emails waiting for me. Happened about an hour ago, waiting for the database guy to come back to see when the last backup was. There's no magic UNDO feature though is there?
