  Hi, I am trying to make a web call with the iPhone. I have done this before and it works fine but now I can't make it work. I am trying to use the following method call which the documentation says is availble in 2.0 and later: - (void)addValue:(NSString *)value forHTTPHeaderField:(NSString *)field; I am attempting to build for version 3.2 and 4.0. NSMutableURLRequest *request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url cachePolicy:NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringCacheData timeoutInterval:30]; [request addValue:@"0" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Length"]; The error that I'm getting is a runtime error that says "-[NSURLRequest addValue:forHTTPHeaderField:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x600e0c0" Can anyone tell me what I am missing that stops this code from working? • C# is there a problem with division?

  This is a piece of my code, it is called every second, after about 10 seconds the values start to become weird (see below): double a; double b; for (int i = 0; i < currAC.Length; i++ ) { a = currAC[i]; b = aveACValues[i]; divisor = (a/b); Console.WriteLine("a = " + a.ToString("N2") + "\t" + "b = " + b.ToString("N2")); Console.WriteLine("divisor = " + divisor); Console.WriteLine("a+b = " + (a+b)); } and the output: a = -0.05 b = 0.00 divisor = 41 a+b = -0.0524010372273268 currAC and aveACValues are double[] what on earth is going on???? The addition result is correct every time, but the division value is wrong, yet it is reading a and b correctly?? EDIT: '41' is the value of the first calculation, ie when a = currAC[0], but this should not remain???

  I have a situation where I need to extract dates from the file names whose general pattern is [filename_]YYYYMMDD[.fileExtension] e.g. "xxx_20100326.xls" or x2v_20100326.csv The below program does the work //Number of charecter in the substring is set to 8 //since the length of YYYYMMDD is 8 public static string ExtractDatesFromFileNames(string fileName) { return fileName.Substring(fileName.IndexOf("_") + 1, 8); } Is there any better option of achieving the same?   I am making a sort of form validation system and I need to check the SQL database to see if the username is already there. So, my question, is it effective to use a little if statement like this to protect against an attack? if (strcspn($string, "/\?!@#$%^&*()[]{}|:;<>,.\"\'-+=" == strlen($string)){ return true; } So essentially, if the string contains any of these characters, "/\?!@#$%^&*()[]{}|:;<>,.\"\'-+=", then the length will not equal that of the original $string. I am just wondering if this is sufficient to protect, or if there is more that I must do. Thanks.

• Dojo Select widget validation style

  Many dojo form widgets, like DateTextBox will style themselves in red (claro theme) with an "!" to indicate that the field isn't valid after focus. I can't seem to get this type of styling to work with the Select widget. I have the value set to required, but if the user leaves it in the default state, blank, then it remains unstyled. I tried to test this programmatically: wigs = dijit.findWidgets(node); for( i = 0; i < wigs.length; i++ ) { wigs[i].focus(); } This triggers validation on several other widgets and they are styled appropriately, but not he Select widgets. Anyone know how to make it obvious that those select widgets are not validating? Oh, and wigs[i].isValid() is definitely false for those select widgets.

• How to deal with callback to your UIController after your UIController unloads?

  Suppose your controller is a table view and one of the cells you are going off to do a length task (say download a thumbnail) to be viewed in the cell. Typically you would have the network call do a callback to your controller when it is done downloading. The callback can then reload the table or do some other form of UI update (hides a spinner etc). However, what if the controller is unloaded? Say the user navigated away from this controller and it got released? What happens? Will the callback still work despite the controller now not in memory? Also, if the callback operates on some objects (say the UITableView) what happens when the controller is deallocated? I suppose the controller can release all the objects and the callback would just be calling methods on nil to prevent crash. But is this the convention?

  Hi, this is a CSS / design question. I have three textboxes that i want to be center aligned on a web page. Then i want a label description to the right of each one. • Javascript Replace Child/Loop issue

  I have this really bizarre issue where I have a forloop that is supposed to replace all divs with the class of "original" to text inputs with a class of "new". When I run the loop, it only replaces every-other div with an input, but if I run the loop to just replace the class of the div and not change the tag to input, it does every single div, and doesn't only do every-other.   given a large list of alphabetically sorted words in a file,I need to write a program that, given a word x, determines if x is in the list. Preprocessing is ok since I will be calling this function many times over different inputs. priorties: 1. speed. 2. memory I already know I can use (n is number of words, m is average length of the words) 1. a trie, time is O(log(n)), space(best case) is O(log(n*m)), space(worst case) is O(n*m). 2. load the complete list into memory, then binary search, time is O(log(n)), space is O(n*m) I'm not sure about the complexity on tri, please correct me if they are wrong. Also are there other good approaches?

• Wordpress issue with footer

The footer is pretty much ignoring everything and just staying in the top of the site ( like it was a part of my header). All my files is split into 3 files. • How do I convert an arbitrary list of strings to a SQL rowset?

  I have a simple list of strings, which may be of arbitrary length. I'd like to be able to use this list of strings as I would use a rowset. The app in question is running against SQL Server. To be clearer, if I do SELECT 'foo', 'bar', 'baz' I get 'foo', 'bar', and 'baz' as fields in a single row. I'd like to see each one of them as a separate row. Is there a SQL (or SQLServer-specific) function or technique that I'm missing, or am I going to have to resort to writing a function in an external scripting language?

• Passing an array argument from C# to a C++/CLI method

  I know only very little about C++/CLI, but I have a simple problem that needs a solution. I have a C++/CLI class method that takes a byte-array as a parameter. The array is of a pre-determined length, and can be allocated in C# beforehand. The array is supposed to be filled with data by the C++/CLI method. How do I declare the method and then call it from C#? I tried something like having the following in my C++/CLI class: public ref class C { public: void FillBytes(array<BYTE^>^ bytes); }; And then, in C#: o = new C(); var bytes = new byte[3]; o.FillBytes(bytes); But that didn't work at all :).
