• checkins/recent not returning comments or even counts of comments

  My application has been using the checkins/recent endpoint to show where all the current users friends are currently at and I had included a button the user could press to comment on a checkin. The button used to have the comment count on it until recently. It seems the checkins/recent endpoint no longer returns comments or even a comment count for those checkins. I would have to query each checkin in order to get the comment count which adds to the data usage not to mention API usage counts. Is there another way to do this that I'm not seeing? Could you please at least put the comment count back? You have the photo information, why not comments? Thanks

• retreving long text (CLOB) using CFQuery

  I am using CFQuery to retrieve the CLOB field from Oracle DB. If the CLOB filed contains the Data less than ~ 8000, then I can see retrieved the value ( the o/p), however If the value in CLOB field size is more than 8000 chars, then its not retrieving the value. in <cfdump> i can see the query retrieved as 'empty String' though the value exists in Oracle DB. I am using the Oracle Driver in CFadim console enabled 'Enable long text retrieval (CLOB).' and 'Enable binary large object retrieval (BLOB). ' set 'Long Text Buffer (chr)' and 'Blob Buffer(bytes) ' values to 6400000 any suggestions to retrieve the full text?

• Lucene numDocs and doqFreq on custom similarity class

  Hi All, im doing an aplication with Lucene (im a noob with it) and im facing some problems. My aplication uses the Lucene 2.4.0 library with a custom similaraty implementation (the jar is imported) In my app im calculating doqFreq and numDocs manually (im adding the values of all indexes and then i calculate a global value in order to use it on every query) and i want to use that values on a custom similarity implementation in order to calculate a new IDF. The problem is that I dont know how to use (or send) the new doqFreq and numDocs values from my app on that new similarty implementation as I dont want to change lucene´s code apart from this extra class. Any suggestions or examples? I read the docs but i dont now how to aproach this :s Thanks

  I have the following query regarding the scheduling of process threads. a) If my process A has 3 threads then can these threads be scheduled concurrently on the different CPUs in SMP m/c or they will be given time slice on the same cpu. b) Suppose I have two processes A with 3 threads and Process B with 2 threads (all threads are of same priority) then cpu time allocated to each thread (time slice) is dependent on the number of threads in the process or not? Correct me if I am wrong is it so that cpu time is allocated to process which is then shared among its threads i.e. time slice given to process A threads is less than that of Process B threads.

• Why does IIS not support chunked transfer encoding?

  I am making an HTTP connection to an IIS web server and sending a POST request with the data encoded using Transfer-Encoding: chunked. When I do this, IIS simply closes the connection, with no error message or status code. According to the HTTP 1.1 spec, All HTTP/1.1 applications MUST be able to receive and decode the "chunked" transfer-coding so I don't understand why it's (a) not handling that encoding and (b) it's not sending back a status code. If I change the request to send the Content-Length rather than Transfer-Encoding, the query succeeds, but that's not always possible. When I try the same thing against Apache, I get a "411 Length required" status and a message saying "chunked Transfer-Encoding forbidden". Why do these servers not support this encoding?

• SQL COUNT of COUNT

  I have some data I am querying. The table is composed of two columns - a unique ID, and a value. I would like to count the number of times each unique value appears (which can easily be done with a COUNT and GROUP BY), but I then want to be able to count that. So, I would like to see how many items appear twice, three times, etc. So for the following data (ID, val)... 1, 2 2, 2 3, 1 4, 2 5, 1 6, 7 7, 1 The intermediate step would be (val, count)... 1, 3 2, 3 7, 1 And I would like to have(count_from_above, new_count)... 3, 2 -- since three appears twice in the previous table 1, 1 -- since one appears once in the previous table Is there any query which can do that? If it helps, I'm working with Postgres. Thanks!

• Is there any er diagram tool in Windows that I can use to connect to a MySQL 4.1 database in Unix?

  I have a few test databases in some Unix SUSE 8 servers and initially the plan was to find some tools which can directly create the ERD straight from the server until someone told me that I can find tools to connect from the Windows PC straight to the Unix MySQL database. So I saw MySQL query analyzer which can do this but unfortunately there are no options to create an ERD. So are there any tools, preferably open source or free which can do this? I've done some basic googling but didn't know what is the exact terms to use to search for this and have so far found nothing useful yet. Updates: I just found out that the latest version of workbench doesn't work MySQL 4.1 Enterprise Edition which is the version that I have! And I try to use fabFORCE DBDesigner but I can't even connect at all using that one :( What can work for this version of MySQL?

• Update/Increment a single column on multiple rows at once

  I'm trying to add rows to a column, keeping the order of the newest column set to one, and all other rows counting up from there. In this case, I add a new row with order=0, then use this query to update all the rows by one. "UPDATE favorits SET order = order+1" However, what happens is that all the rows are updated to the same value. I get a stack of favorites, all with order 6 for example, when it should be one with 1, the next with 2 and so on. How do I update these rows in a way that orders them the way they should be?   Hello all - is there a way to create a task/activity report (say a weekly report) off tasks managed with Mylyn? I've been using Rachota TimeTracker which allows me to create reports (in html format) http://rachota.sourceforge.net/en/demo.html I've just started using mylyn (our company uses Embarcadero JBuilder which is is based on Eclipse), but I don't see anywhere in the Eclipse or Embarcadero docs about reporting capabilities. Is it possible? Is it possible to query activities worked on a prior week and report statistics out of it (management like reports, you know;) I'm sure it is, but I haven't been able to google it out. Thanks.

What I want to create is Iphone app which can view those classifieds. There will be no complicated function at first version. It will be have different categories and query and display according to the category. And if there's new classified ad, they will get push notification. What I want to know is, what should i go with ? Native or using phonegap ? Is phonegap supports push notification ?   I have a query regarding how delegates work. My understanding was that delegates take responsibility for doing certain tasks on behalf of another object. locationManager = [[CLLocationManager alloc] init]; [locationManager setDelegate:self]; [locationManager setDistanceFilter:kCLDistanceFilterNone]; [locationManager setDesiredAccuracy:kCLLocationAccuracyBest]; [locationManager startUpdatingLocation]; Am I right in thinking that in the example code above that the instance of CLLocationManager is created on a new thread so that it can get on with trying to find the location information it needs. When it completes its task (or encounters an error) it calls-back using the appropriate methods located in self e.g. locationManager:didUpdateToLocation:fromLocation: Essentially locationManager sends messages to self (which conforms to the correct delegate protocol) when things happen cheers gary

  I'm able to manage FTP sites via the IIS manager, however, all attempts so far to manage the state of FTP sites using other means have failed, including: Using the IIS7 API (Microsoft.Web.Administration) Using WMI (with IIS6 compatibility enabled) Using the AppCmd tool in System32\inetsrv Related questions: Why am I unable to get Site.State for an FTP site, when using Microsoft.Web.Administration? Are there any workarounds I haven't tried? My objective is to manage (start/stop/query the state of) the FTP sites with C# code (as you can see from the 3 above attempted workarounds). When querying the FTP server state using WMI, it returns code 4, which means "Stopped", even though the site is definitely shown as running in IIS manager. AppCmd is useless, as it returns "Unknown" for FTP sites: c:\Windows\System32\inetsrv>appcmd list site SITE "Default Web Site" (id:1,bindings:http/*:80:,state:Stopped) SITE "Default FTP Site" (id:2,bindings:ftp/*:21:,state:Unknown)
