  • C# change e-mail 'from' address to a user-provided one.

    - by Jeff
    We have an app that allows users to send e-mails from our system. It allows the user to specify their e-mail address, and gives them several standard templates to use as a starting point for their e-mail. When we send the e-mails, we use the address they provided as the 'reply-to', but the 'from' address of the e-mail (naturally) looks like our system (from '[email protected]'). Is there a way to change this without getting tangled up in spam filters or automatic blocking? We'd prefer not to confuse the recipient as to who actually composed the e-mail they've received.

  • .htaccess for multiple application in Kohana V3

    - by khairil
    Hi I have setup multiple application in Kohana v3, it works normally without enabling .htaccess (to remove index.php or admin.php) my setup + system/ + modules/ + applications/ + public/ + bootstrap.php + ... + admin/ + bootstrap.php + ... + index.php (for 'public' application) + admin.php (for 'admin' application) so to access the frontend sample url will be; http://mydomain.com/index.php/(controller_name)/... and to access administration site; http://mydomain.com/admin.php/(controller_name)/... The task is, I want to remove and replace index.php (default url) and admin.php with /admin/ using .htaccess (mod_rewrite) so it can be http://mydomain.com/(controller_name) <- 'public' application http://mydomain.com/admin/(controller_name) <- 'admin' application my current .htaccess (not working) is; # Turn on URL rewriting RewriteEngine On # Installation directory RewriteBase /ko3/ # Protect hidden files from being viewed Order Deny,Allow Deny From All # Protect application and system files from being viewed RewriteRule ^(?:web-apps|modules|core)\b.* index.php/$0 [L] # Allow any files or directories that exist to be displayed directly RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d # TODO: rewrite admin URL to admin.php/URL #RewriteRule ^admin/(.*) admin.php/$0 [L] # Rewrite all other URLs to index.php/URL RewriteRule .* index.php/$0 [PT]

  • Why is the output like this?

    - by javatechi
    class another { public void method(Object o) { System.out.println("This is in method which takes object"); } public void method(String s) { System.out.println("This is method which takes string"); } } public class NewClass { public static void main(String args[]) { another an = new another(); an.method(null); } } When I try to execute this, I get This is method which takes string as the output. Why not "This is in method which takes object"? Object can also be null and string can also be null, why doesn't it invoke first method?

  • Will an IO blocked process show 100% CPU utilization in 'top' output?

    - by Alex Stoddard
    I have an analysis that can be parallelized over a different number of processes. It is expected that things will be both IO and CPU intensive (very high throughput short-read DNA alignment if anyone is curious.) The system running this is a 48 core linux server. The question is how to determine the optimum number of processes such that total throughput is maximized. At some point the processes will presumably become IO bound such that adding more processes will be of no benefit and possibly detrimental. Can I tell from standard system monitoring tools when that point has been reached? Would the output of top (or maybe a different tool) enable me to distinguish between a IO bound and CPU bound process? I am suspicious that a process blocked on IO might still show 100% CPU utilization.

  • Put an array of Objects in nodes of another array of Objects [JAVA]

    - by zengr
    public class hello { public static void main(String[] args) { Object[] newarray = new Object[1]; Object[] obj = new Object[2]; obj[0] = "Number1"; //string value obj[1] = "Number2"; //string value newarray[0] = obj; //this works Object[] tmp_obj = new Object[2]; tmp_obj = newarray[0]; //obviously does not work System.out.println(tmp_obj[0]); //nope System.out.println(tmp_obj[1]); //nope } } So, now if I want to access the values "Number1" and "Number2" which are stored in obj[0] and obj[1]; obj is in newarray[0]. what should I do? Is this a possible? Thanks

  • time(NULL) returning different time

    - by cornerback84
    I am trying to get current time in C using time_t current_time = time(NULL). As I understand, it would return me the current time of system. I am later trying to convert it into GMT time using struct tm* gmt = gmtime(&current_time). I print both times using ctime() and asctime() functions. The current time on my system is GMT + 1. But gmtime() returns me the same time as current_time is. I could not understand why gmtime() is returning me same time. Any help will be appreciated.

  • How do I print the method body reflectively?

    - by kunjaan
    Right now I have private static void getMethods(Class<? extends Object> clazz) { Method[] declaredMethods = clazz.getDeclaredMethods(); for (Method aMethod : declaredMethods) { aMethod.setAccessible(true); // Print the declaration System.out.print(Modifier.toString(aMethod.getModifiers()) + " " + aMethod.getReturnType().getSimpleName() + " " + aMethod.getName()); // Get Parameter Types getParameters(aMethod); //Empty Body System.out.println("{}\n"); } } Which prints most information reflectively but creates an empty body. How do I add to the reflective nature of Java to print the method body?

  • Windows 7 clean install becomes corrupt after reboot (repeated many fresh installs)

    - by pjotr_dolphin
    My laptop keeps crashing on boot after clean Windows 7 install. Ok, here is the story, and some fact. Computer: Samsung NP900X3C-A04HK (256GB SSD, 8GB RAM) OS to install: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (not from Samsung, own fresh Win) I purchased this laptop about a year ago, never booted it into the Windows Home that was installed on it, installed directly Ubuntu on the machine. Full disc encryption was the selected install, so of course it wiped the complete disc (including Samsung Recovery Partition). After some time, I felt like going back to Windows, as Windows 7 is actually quite nice. So I went to buy a fresh Windows 7Ultimate with SP1. Now to the tricky part. Windows installs perfectly, and after installing all Windows updates, drivers from Samsung, software I need, it is time for shutting it down and go to bed. Starting it up again, and it is not booting, these are the type of errors I have gotten so far (fresh installed it more then a dozen times now, and tried different suggestions from threads on the net). Windows failed to start... Status: 0xc000000f Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. File: /boot/bcd Status: 0xc000000f Info: an error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data. And some other errors, not all the same. Not memory of this. I have run different disc checks, and all says my SSD is in perfect shape. Note: Soft reboots from Windows menu works, never gets corrupted. But if I Shutdown and then start it up again, this is when it happens. Can someone help me not get back to Ubunut? What can be the cause, and how can it be fixed so I do not get there problems again?

  • With paperclip, how can I change the image location to a ":parent_model_id/:id" folder format?

    - by Jamis Charles
    Given that I have a Listing model that has many images and each image has one attachment, how can I have the listing_id be part of the folder structure? Like so: system/photos/[listing_id]/:id I know that using :id will output the id of the image record. Here's what I currently have: class Image < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :listing #Rails ActiveRecord Relation. An image belongs to a post. # paperclip data has_attached_file :photo, :styles => { :medium => "300x300>", :thumb => "100x100>" }, :url => "/public/system/:class/:attachment/:id/:style_:filename" end

  • MapPath strange error

    - by Cristian Boariu
    Hi, I have the following code: string path = "~/Others/Muzica/Demo/"+interpret+"_"+album+"/"; CMSUtils.CreateFolder(MapPath(path)); where CreateFolder method is like: public static void CreateFolder(string path) { if (!System.IO.Directory.Exists(path)) { System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(path); } } So i create that folder if it does not exists... All works great locally BUT i do not understand why, if i put it on the server it gives: Failed to map the path '/gramma_prod/Others/Muzica/Demo/Vitamina C_De n-ai fi fost Tu /'. at CMSUtils.CreateFolder(MapPath(path)); I have checked if: /gramma_prod/Others/Muzica/Demo/ exists on the server and of course it exists... Does anybody see the problem?

  • C# Launcher program(ConsoleApp) that launches other executables

    - by Agile Noob
    I've written a launcher program that fires off a given number of executables, with the following code: Process.Start(strPath2EXE); The problem I'm running into is it seems I'm being limited to launching only about four copies of the executable. Is there a different way I can launch the executables without this limit? I'm hoping to run 10+ concurrently. Here is the error from the event log: EventType clr20r3, P1 launcher.exe, P2 1.0.0.0, P3 4bec3901, P4 system, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 4889de7a, P7 39f5, P8 288, P9 system.componentmodel.win32, P10 NIL.

  • How can I (reasonably) precisely perform an action every N milliseconds?

    - by Jon Cage
    I have a machine which uses an NTP client to sync up to internet time so it's system clock should be fairly accurate. I've got an application which I'm developing which logs data in real time, processes it and then passes it on. What I'd like to do now is output that data every N milliseconds aligned with the system clock. So for example if I wanted to do 20ms intervals, my oututs ought to be something like this: 13:15:05:0000 13:15:05:0020 13:15:05:0040 13:15:05:0060 I've seen suggestions for using the stopwatch class, but that only measures time spans as opposed to looking for specific time stamps. The code to do this is running in it's own thread, so should be a problem if I need to do some relatively blocking calls. Any suggestions on how to achieve this to a reasonable (close to or better than 1ms precision would be nice) would be very gratefully received.

  • More Poll() ?'s

    - by ultifinitus
    Back again! I've been doing some async socket programming with select() on windows,and it's been working quite well. However it's only scalable up to 1024 clients.Poll() is the way to get around that limitation, and I know it works on both linux and unix. But it doesn't work with a windows system correct? I read about WsaPoll(), does it have the exact same functionality? What libraries would I have to link to in order to use it? Can I increase the socket number safely in windows with FD_SETSIZE? My end program will be on a linux server. However I am testing on a windows system right now. Should I just swap my test machine over to a linux box? (probably going to anyway) Otherwise what would you recommend to use with windows? (sorry for all of the questions, I am doing research on my own, I promise =D)

  • Help getting PHP sessions to persist after being taken off-site

    - by Rob
    Hi, we're working on a payment gateway system with PHP. We use sessions to store the shopping cart data. The system takes you off-site to the payment processor's site, and then return you to your site. On most hosts, we have no issues when we arrive back at our site and having the session data still be there. On those with an issue, turning off the PHP session referer_check has worked in the past. We don't really want to have to include the PHPSESSID as a GET variable, and hope to avoid that. What I'm looking for is what other server configurations would cause the session to be killed, and any other workarounds there might be. Thanks for your help.

  • android google maps my location

    - by windblow
    I have google maps activity where i would like to get my location but im facing NullPointerException... locManager = (LocationManager) getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE); locManager.requestLocationUpdates(LocationManager.NETWORK_PROVIDER, 0, 0, this); Location location = locManager.getLastKnownLocation(LocationManager.NETWORK_PROVIDER); System.out.println("loaded4"); myPoint = new GeoPoint((int)(location.getLatitude()*1E6),(int)(location.getLongitude()*1E6)); System.out.println("loaded5"); I am able to get "loaded4" but not "loaded5" So NullPointer cause is between them. I also tried to use GPS_PROVIDER but it didnt work out. Yes i have all permissions in manifest. Map is able to load in if im not searhing for my loacation. Is it possible its NullPointer because before that i load some other coordinates in same class ? Maybe its emulator fault ? I can give extended code if needed. • Is there a way to set the value of $? in a mock in Ruby?

    - by rleber
    I am testing some scripts that interface with system commands. Their logic depends on the return code of the system commands, i.e. the value of $?. So, as a simplified example, the script might say: def foo(command) output=`#{command}` if $?==0 'succeeded' else 'failed' end end In order to be able to test these methods properly, I would like to be able to stub out the Kernel backquote call, and set $? to an arbitrary value, to see if I get appropriate behavior from the logic in the method after the backquote call. I can't figure out a way to do this. (In case it matters, I'm testing using Test::Unit and Mocha.)

  • C# A simple Hangman game

    - by Radostin Angelov
    I'm trying to create a simple Hangman game and i have gotten so far, to make it read all words from a text file, but I don't know how to make the code work for every single word. I have another project, working with 3/4 words but with repeating nested if statements. I want to make it as shorter as possible. This is the code i have so far : using System; using System.Linq; class Program { static void Main() { string[] words = System.IO.File.ReadAllLines(@"C:\Users\ADMIN\Desktop\Letters\Letters.txt"); int LengthOfArray = words.Length; Random rnd = new Random(); int random = rnd.Next(1, 3); char[] letters = words[random].ToCharArray(); bool WordIsHidden = true; char hiddenChar = '_'; char GuessedLetter = hiddenChar; var retry = true; while (retry = true) { Console.WriteLine(letters); letters = GuessedLetter.ToString().ToCharArray(); for (int i = 1; i <= LengthOfArray; i++) { Console.Write("{0} ", GuessedLetter); } Console.WriteLine("Enter a letter!"); char letter = char.Parse(Console.ReadLine()); if (words[random].Contains<char>(letter)) { WordIsHidden = false; GuessedLetter = letter; Console.Write(letters); } else { if (WordIsHidden == true) { Console.Write("You guessed wrong!"); } } } } } Also I'm trying to make the game show each letter, the user has guessed on it's corresponding position, but now the letter is one line higher than the rest of the word and it's not in it's right position. Edited: Here is the result : cat ___Enter a letter! a __ aaaEnter a letter! t aa tttEnter a letter! IF anyone have a clue for where does this come from and how can I fix it, any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Normalized Device Coordinates to window coordinates

    - by okoman
    I just read some stuff about the theory behind 3d graphics. As I understand it, normalized device coordinates (NDC) are coordinates that describe a point in the interval from -1 to 1 on both the horizontal and vertical axis. On the other hand window coordinates describe a point somewhere between (0,0) and (width,height) of the window. So my formula to convert a point from the NDC coordinate system to the window system would be xwin = width + xndc * 0.5 * width ywin = height + ynfv * 0.5 * height The problem now is that in the OpenGL documentation for glViewport there is an other formula: xwin = ( xndc + 1 ) * width * 0.5 + x ywin = ( yndc + 1 ) * height * 0.5 + y Now I'm wondering what I am getting wrong. Especially I'm wondering what the additional "x" and "y" mean. Hope the question isn't too "not programming related", but I thought somehow it is related to graphics programming.

  • Can I load a 32 bit DLL into a 64 bit process on Windows?

    - by Lee
    I recently upgraded a c# windows service to run as a 64 bit .net process. Normally, this would be trivial, but the system makes use of a 32-bit DLL written in C++. It is not an option to convert this DLL to 64 bit, so I wrapped the DLL in a separate 32 bit .net process and exposed a .net interface via remoting. This is quite a reliable solution, but I would prefer to run the system as a single process. Is there any way I can load my 32 bit DLL into a 64 bit process and access it directly (perhaps through some sort of thunking layer)?

  • Polymorphic behavior not being implemented

    - by Garrett A. Hughes
    The last two lines of this code illustrate the problem: the compiler works when I use the reference to the object, but not when I assign the reference to an array element. The rest of the code is in the same package in separate files. BioStudent and ChemStudent are separate classes, as well as Student. package pkgPoly; public class Poly { public static void main(String[] arg) { Student[] stud = new Student[3]; // create a biology student BioStudent s1 = new BioStudent("Tom"); // create a chemistry student ChemStudent s2 = new ChemStudent("Dick"); // fill the student body with studs stud[0] = s0; stud[1] = s1; // compiler complains that it can't find symbol getMajor on next line System.out.println("major: " + stud[0].getMajor() ); // doesn't compile; System.out.println("major: " + s0.getMajor() ); // works: compiles and runs correctly } }
