  I am rebuilding an ecom site where the product data is stored in a multidimensional JS array that gets loaded on page load. This data is constantly being accessed with JS due to the nature of the site, to update prices based on user selections. There are many options that affect final price. From a programming standpoint, a DB table is much easier to maintain and update than are JS arrays, and since I am porting the site over to PHP and MYSQL, I have been considering moving these arrays into tables. So, would it be better to populate an array from the DB on load so that the pricing data is always available to the JS, or stay with hard coded JS files? I considered getting data via ajax as needed, but since this site has to constantly update pricing with user interaction, I have pretty much ruled that out. How would you handle it?

How should I use protect_from_forgery and how can I check if data received from valid domain? What I am thinking now is to turn off protect_from_forgery for session controller and check domain name of received data. But maybe I can configure CSRF protection for not only one domain?

  Hi, I am very new to using this wmd editor. In simple way, i am using this editor in my page using asp textbox with "wmd-input" class. It is perfectly behaving like a wmd editor. But when enter some data and do some formatting like bold, italic etc and read editor's content from server side, i can see that the data in plain text. • Easiest way to plot values as symbols in scatter plot?

  In an answer to an earlier question of mine regarding fixing the colorspace for scatter images of 4D data, Tom10 suggested plotting values as symbols in order to double-check my data. An excellent idea. I've run some similar demos in the past, but I can't for the life of me find the demo I remember being quite simple. So, what's the easiest way to plot numerical values as the symbol in a scatter plot instead of 'o' for example? Tom10 suggested plt.txt(x,y,value)- and that is the implementation used in a number of examples. I however wonder if there's an easy way to evaluate "value" from my array of numbers? Can one simply say: str(valuearray) ? Do you need a loop to evaluate the values for plotting as suggested in the matplotlib demo section for 3D text scatter plots? Their example produces: However, they're doing something fairly complex in evaluating the locations as well as changing text direction based on data. So, is there a cute way to plot x,y,C data (where C is a value often taken as the color in the plot data- but instead I wish to make the symbol)? Again, I think we have a fair answer to this- I just wonder if there's an easier way?

  I have a HTC Dream firmware version 1.6 build DRD20. I am unable to install voice data in Menu == Settings == Speech Synthesis == Install voice data. The option just brings me back to previous screen of settings. I also tried installing Speech Synthesis Data Installer and many other applications for text to speech. But none works and give back Sorry! Force close error. Is there any way by which I can install voice data ? Or any way I can use text to speech ? Can anyone also tell what is latest offical firmware available for this mobile ?

• Saving contents of ApplicationState in ASP.Net (MVC)

  I have an internal app used to edit XML files on disk. The XML files are loaded into an object model which is stored in ApplicationState. I need to save this data. The one option is to do this every time the user changes some data. However, this seems a bit inefficient - writing the data out to disk each time a change is made. Instead, is it possible to be notified whenever the user closes their browser, plus just before the web server exits? Thus, the data would be saved each time a session ends, plus when the computer shuts down, etc. I thought that Application_End(), Application_Error() and Session_End() in Global.asax would provide this, but these methods don't seem to be called.

• When not to use a Drupal node?

  I've recently created a very simple CRUD table where the user stores some data. For the data, I created a custom node. The functionality works great for creating, editing, and deleting data in the CRUD table using the basic node functionality (I'm actually amazed how fast and easy it was to program the basic functionality with proper access controls using only a tiny bit of code).... Since the data isn't meant to be treated the same way as 'content' such as a blog post (no title, no body, no commments, no revisions, shouldn't show up on ?q=node page, no previews, no teasers, etc)... I find that I'm spending most of my time 'turning off' and modifying the stuff that drupal does automatically for nodes. I know its a matter of taste, but where should one draw the line on what should be treated as a node and what shouldn't? In other words, would it be better to program this stuff from scratch without using nodes?

  When I run the code with an admin user, the module returns what it should. However, when I run it with a normal user, I get a 403 error. The module returns data from an AJAX call. I rewrote the thing over and over and re-consulted the Node HTTP documentation many times. I'm pretty sure I completely missed something here, because I don't see how this could fail. Does anyone have an idea of what I have done wrong?

In short, I want to loop over a set of records, calculate lags for a product (if possible), append the lags (as they apply) to the current record for each product, and write the results back to a table in my database for my reporting software to use.   Hi, I use Asp.net, SQL 2008 and EF 4. I need display hierarchy data in a treeview control, Data is stored in a DB that use HierarchyId. Unfortunately, EF4 doesn't support HierarchyId. So in this case, I thought to have a stored procedure that deals with my hierarchy and return a result set back to EF that EF4 can turn into a collection of user-defined complex type that can then be bound directly to the treeview control. I imported a SPROC in EF 4 using Import Function and now I have a Complex DataType called: CategoryHierarchy_Result An image of my Model: Here some data from the Complex Type (in a GridView for example GridView1.DataSource = context.CategoryHierarchy(1);): My questions is: How to display my data from my Complex Type in a TreeView Control, showing a Tree structure that respect CategoryNodeString? • using ajax to post comments in cakephp results in 404 error, but no errors locally?

  Using an ajax helper created for use with Jquery I've created a form that posts comments to "/comments/add", and this works as expected on my local wamp server but not on my production server. On my production server I get a '404 error, cannot find /comments/add'. I've spent quite a bit of time searching for a resolution with no luck so far. I've focused on trying to identify a gap but nothing jumps out at me. I have studied the ggplot2 examples, but have difficulty understanding the relevant examples here.
