• jTabbedPane opens different tab on loading

  Hey mates, First of all I'm using netbeans as my IDE and I don't know if this is causing it. When I run my program (even if I have build it and run the .jar) I think it selects the tab that was previously selected (before quiting). So if for example I close the app with the third tab selected, it starts up with that selected again. Is there a known solution for this? The selectedIndex property on the jTabbedPane is set to 0. Shouldn't this property be the default onLoad value? Thx in advance, Jimmy PS. BTW for some reason it didn't submit my question in Opera (?)

  Hello, I have a C# program that will open a text file, parse it for certain criteria using a RegEx statement, and then write a new text file with the changed criteria. For example: I have a text file with a bunch of machine codes in it such as: X0.109Y0Z1.G0H2E1 My C# program will take this and turn it into: X0.109Y0G54G0T3 G43Z1.H2M08 (Note: the T3 value is really the H value (H2 in this case) + 1). T = H + 1 It works great, because the line usually always starts with X so the RegEx statement always matches.   I'm new in both javascript and V8. According to Google's Embedder's Guide, I saw something in the context section talking about built-in utility javascript functions. And I also found some .js files(e.g. math.js) in the downloaded source code, so I tried to write a simple program to call functions in these files, but I failed. Does a context created by Persistent<Context> context = Context::New() have any built-in js functions? How can I access them? Is there a way to first import existing js files as a library(something like src="xxx" type="text/javascript" in HTML page) and then run my own execute script? Can I call google maps api through the embedded V8 library in app? How?

  I am using the VSSConveter.exe tool to import from VSS6 (using 2005 ide) to TFS2008. I have run analyze (no errors) and migrate WITH a user mapping file (containg the vss/domain user mappings) I would like to persist in tfs the check-in user of the file, currently the check-in user for all versions of file shows as admin (the account im running the import with), the origional check-in user is appended to the check-in comment. For example:- TestFile.aspx in VSS Check in ver: 1 - User:Adam - Comment:TEST1 Check in ver: 2 - User:James - Comment:TEST2 Check in ver: 3 - User:Joel - Comment:TEST2 After import into TFS Check in ver: 1 - User:mydomain\Admin - Comment:TEST1 (Commited by Adam) Check in ver: 2 - User:mydomain\Admin - Comment:TEST2 (Commited by James) Check in ver: 3 - User:mydomain\Admin - Comment:TEST2 (Commited by Joel) In TFS I want the user to show as the correct domain user as configured in my user mapping file. Is this possible, or is this just how the VSSConverter program works?

  I'm attempting to compile Java 1.4 code that was created by IBM's WSDL2Java on Java5 without recreating the stubs and saw this error in Eclipse. I'm under the assumption that the stubs created should just compile as long as the runtime jars are available (they are). Access restriction: The type QName is not accessible due to restriction on required library C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_16\jre\lib\rt.jar The full classname is javax.xml.namespace.QName What exactly is going on here? Is this a case where I am trying to refactor a pig from sausage? Am I better off recreating the stubs?

  Hello, My program sets "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced" value "Hidden". Hovewer I'm not able to refresh the explorer to take into account this change. So what should I do? If I refresh Explorer myself with F5, then it works.   Hi, I get the following problem with some openssl (yeah, I know it's poorly documented, but I wish to use it any way) code in a project of mine (written in c, on osx and tested in ubuntu): Undefined symbols: "_BIO_new_socket", referenced from: _main in ccG3cvyw.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status I did have SSL library problems aswel, because I forgot to link my program to the openssl libraries. The above undefined still stands though. My compile line is: gcc -o test_app test_app.c -lssl Versions I use: (GCC) 4.2.1 OpenSSL 0.9.8l 5 Nov 2009 I'm fairly certain it's a (linked) library issue, as the SSL function SSL_set_bio() works (as in does not produce a build error). Any clue is very much appreciated :) Chuck

• “Could not create the file”, “Access is denied” and “Unrecoverable build error” in building setup project in VS 2008

  When building a setup project I get a message: Error with setup build: Error 27 Could not create the file 'C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Local\Temp\VSI1E1A.tmp' 'Access is denied.' I have tried the following (from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329214/EN-US) regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSI Tools\mergemod.dll" The DLL registers but this does not fix my problem. Also, I tried a Clean build, deleting the temp folder, ran VS2008 as administratror, restart my PC but it occurs every time. I have no anti-virus software running and running on Windows 7 64-bit. This operation worked fine until recently. I have read many other users see this but found no solution. The only half solution I found was to edit setup properties and switch to Package files as Loose uncompressed files. This works but is not ideal as I need a full installer.

• Seam/JSF/Facelets Compiler or Validator (equivalent of JspC for JSP)

  Is there such a thing as JspC in the Seam/JSF/Facelets world? I used the Tomcat's JspC to validate a JSP/Struts application to validate if there are typos in the JSPs or some JSP was calling a Java function that didn't exist, etc. etc. From time to time I come across bugs in my current project (Seam/Facelets/RichFaces) where it's caused by a typo in action/value binding. And I think bugs like these can be caught using a program. Just wondering if someone has already written one. Basically a tool that can validate if the method/value binding are correct. I know this would be specially hard in Seam since names are Context sensitive and the tool should somehow figure out what the context is. But I think it should be easier to just check if the names are valid and the Objects bound to those names have the methods and/or properties being referred to in the JSF page. Thanks

  Hello, I am writing large WORD2007 socuments, which are often being changed. I ahve to number paragraphs with stationary unique unmbers, that will not change while changing the documents. The numbers should be unique, and will not change even if previous numbers are deleted. The order of the list is not mandatory, and addition of a new number before existing numbers is possible (for instance: the sequence 1, 4, 3 means that paragraphs 1-3 were written, then #2 was deleted, then #5 was added. #3 was not affected by the later editing) The mechanism should be internal to the document, as I am working on line and off line. The numbers are allocated to every document indovidually. Since I don't know to program under WORD, I'd appreciate getting complete solution. REgards Ganish

I have java webstart app and I want it to connect to a server via SSL.just adding a property like:System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore","my.keystore");But since a JAWS program is downloaded from server didn't work and don't have a my.keystore on local file system. So decided to distribute the certificate to all clients.I did the following and it worked, but I am sure there are more better solutions that this.I packed it inside a jar and copied to some temp directory on clients machine and read the truststore jks file. • Flash ActionScript 2.0 problem with the object's _visible parameter

  Hey guys, I've been trying to build something simple in Flash 8, and I stumbled across something weird I cannot explain: I have an object, and at some point of the program, I want it to be visible (it is invisible at first), so I write: _root.myObj._visible = true; _root.gameOver.swapDepths(_root.getNextHighestDepth()); //so it will be on the top and this works fine, the object becomes visible and etc. What I planned to happen next is that the user presses a button on that same object, and the object will go invisible: on(release) { trace(_root.myObj._visible); _root.myObj._visible = false; trace(_root.myObj._visible); _root.gotoAndPlay("three"); } The trace returns at first true and later on false, so the command works, but oddly the object stays visible, that's what I don't understand.   I'm trying to use the TMP environment variable in a program. When I ask for tmp = os.path.expandvars("$TMP") I get C:\Users\STEVE~1.COO\AppData\Local\Temp Which contains the old-school, tilde form. A function I have no control over returns paths like C:\Users\steve.cooper\AppData\Local\Temp\file.txt My problem is this; I'd like to check if the file is in my temp drive, but I can't find a way to compare them. How do you tell if these two Windows directories; C:\Users\STEVE~1.COO\AppData\Local\Temp C:\Users\steve.cooper\AppData\Local\Temp are the same?

• XCode automatically deactivating breakpoints

  I'm using xcode in C++. I'm trying to debug my project, but at random intervals, it seems to ignore my breakpoints. There are three things that it does: 1) Sometimes, when I run, it automatically switches to "de-activate break points" mode. (the relevant button goes light and says "Activate") 2) Sometimes when I run, ALL of my breakpoints go "can't find" mode, with the yellow insides. I need to click twice on them to get them back dark blue (once to light blue = inactive, once to dark blue = active) 3) Sometimes, when I run, my breakpoint is dark blue, the button says "deactivate" and it still just ignores my breakpoint, running straight past it. This makes it very difficult to debug my program... I should add that I'm using XCode 3.1 beta on OSX 10.5.6, in case that matters. thanks.

  I'm trying to clone my personal fork on github using the git+ssh protocol with TortoiseHg. It's giving me a rather strange error. Here is the command hg clone git+ssh//[email protected]:myusername/thefork.git This is after I have installed the hg-git module and it works just fine to clone using the git:// syntax. But I believe it's having trouble with the ssh. The error I'm getting is this. importing Hg objects into Git [Error 2] The system cannot find the file specified I have tried adding manually the ssh command into the mercurial.ini file like this [ui] username = [email protected] ssh="C:\Program Files\TortoiseHg\TortoisePlink.exe" -ssh -2 -i "C:\Source\SSHPrivateKey.ppk" But I still get the same error.   Hello. I am compiling C++ on *nix and I would like to generate a stack dump a) at an arbitrary point in the program, b) during any signal, particularly during SIGSEGV. Google tells me that ptrace is probably the tool for the job, but I can't find any comprehensible examples of walking the stack. Getting the return address, yeah, but what about the NEXT return address? And what about extracting the symbolic name of the function at that point? Something to do with DWARF? • silverlight 3 navigation page not availble in VS as item to add

  I've recently upgraded my computer from Vista Home Premium 64-bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I've re-installed VS 2008 web express, and re-installed all the silver light sdk's, tools, etc. But now when I want to add a Silverlight Navigation Page, it is not avialble to me in the list of items that can be added. The navigation dll is installed, as my project existed before the OS upgrade. The program still runs just fine as is, but I want to add another navigation page item to the project, and I'm stumped for how to do it. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve

  I'm currently writing a program that needs to compare each file in an ArrayList of variable size. Right now, the way I'm doing this is through a nested code loop: if(tempList.size()>1){ for(int i=0;i<=tempList.size()-1;i++) //Nested loops. I should feel dirty? for(int j=i+1;j<=tempList.size()-1;j++){ //*Gets sorted. System.out.println(checkBytes(tempList.get(i), tempList.get(j))); } } I've read a few differing opinions on the necessity of nested loops, and I was wondering if anyone had a more efficient alternative. At a glance, each comparison is going to need to be done, either way, so the performance should be fairly steady, but I'm moderately convinced there's a cleaner way to do this. Any pointers?

  I've got a program that needs to convert two attributes of a particular tag to the key and value of an Dictionary<int,string>. The XML looks like this: (fragment) <startingPoint coordinates="1,1" player="1" /> and so far my LINQ looks something like this: XNamespace ns = "http://the_namespace"; var startingpoints = from sp in xml.Elements(ns+"startingPoint") from el in sp.Attributes() select el.Value; Which gets me a nice IEnumerable full of things like "1,1" and "1", but there should be a way to adapt something like this answer to do attributes instead of elements. Little help please? Thank you!

• Is it possible to create a quine in every turing-complete language?

  I just wanted to know if it is 100% possible, if my language is turing-complete, to write a program in it that prints itself out (of course not using a file reading function) So if the language just has the really necessary things in order to make it turing complete (I would prove that by translating Brainf*ck code to it), like output, variables, conditions and gotos (hell yes, gotos), can I try writing a quine in it? I'm also asking this because I'm not sure that a quine directly fits into Turing's law that the turing machine is capable of any computational task. I just want to know so I don't try for years without knowing that it may be impossible.
