    I have two level access to database: the first with Hibernate, the second with JDBC. The JDBC level work with nontransactional tables (I use MyISAM for speed). I want make both levels works within transaction. I read about JTA which can manage distributed transactions. But there is lack information in the internet about how to implement and use custom resource. Does any one have experience with using custom XAResources?

  • inject a mockups to a bean that has @autowired annotations

    I have a bean that has a couple of beans injected with the autowire annotation (no qualifier). Now, for testing reasons I want to inject some mocks to the bean instead of the ones being autowired (some DAOs). Is there any way I can change which bean is being injected without modifying my bean? I don't like the idea of adding annotations my code just to test it and then remove then for production. I am using spring 2.5. The bean look like this: @Transactional @Service("validaBusinesService") public class ValidaBusinesServiceImpl implements ValidaBusinesService { @Autowired OperationDAO operationDAO; @Autowired BinDAO binDAO; @Autowired CardDAO cardDAO; @Autowired UserDAO userDAO; ... ... }

  • TreeMap not properly returning values

    I have the following TreeMap: TreeMap<String, Integer> distances = new TreeMap<String, Integer>(); and it contains both strings, "Face" and "Foo", with appropriate values, such that: System.out.println(distances); Yields: {Face=12, Foo=2} However, distances.get(Face) returns null, even though distances.get(Foo) properly returns 2. Previously, distances.get(Face) worked, but for some reason, it stopped working. Note I print out the map right before calling get() for both keys, so I haven't accidentally changed Face's value to null. Has anyone else every encountered this problem? Is there anything I can do? I'm having a terrible time simply trying to figure out how to debug this problem.

    I am trying to parse a date that looks like this: 2010-04-05T17:16:00Z This is a valid date per http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3339.txt. The 'Z' literal "imply that UTC is the preferred reference point for the specified time." If I try to parse it using SimpleDateFormat and this pattern: yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss It will be parsed as a Mon Apr 05 17:16:00 EDT 2010 SimpleDateFormat is unable to parse the string with these patterns: yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ssz yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ssZ I can explicitly set the TimeZone to use on the SimpleDateFormat to get the expected output, but I don't think that should be necessary. Is there something I am missing? Is there an alternative date parser?

  • starting and stopping hsqldb from unit tests

    I'm trying to create integration tests using hsqldb in an in memory mode. At the moment, I have to start the hsqldb server from the command line before running the unit tests. I would like to be able to be able to control the hsqldb server from my integration tests. I can't seem to get this to all work out though from code.     I'm using hibernate 3 and want to stop it from dumping all the startup messages to the console. I tried commenting out the stdout lines in log4j.properties but no luck. I've pasted my log file below. URI uri = new URI(url); HttpPost post = new HttpPost(uri); HttpClient client = new DefaultHttpClient(); HttpResponse response = client.execute(post); I have a asp.net webform application that has in the page load this Response.Output.Write("It worked"); I want to grab this Response from the HttpReponse and print it out. How do I do this? I tried response.getEntity().toString() but it just seems to print out the address in memory. Thanks

    I've created the following scenario: @javax.persistence.Entity @Inheritance(strategy = InheritanceType.TABLE_PER_CLASS) public class MyEntity implements Serializable{ @Id @GeneratedValue protected Long id; ... @ElementCollection @CollectionTable(name="ENTITY_PARAMS") @MapKeyColumn (name = "ENTITY_KEY") @Column(name = "ENTITY_VALUE") protected Map<String, String> parameters; ... } As well as: @javax.persistence.Entity public class Sensor extends MyEntity{ @Id @GeneratedValue protected Long id; ... // so here "protected Map<String, String> parameters;" is inherited !!!! ... } So running this example, no tables are created and i get the following message: WARNUNG: Got SQLException executing statement "CREATE TABLE ENTITY_PARAMS (Entity_ID BIGINT NOT NULL, ENTITY_VALUE VARCHAR(255), ENTITY_KEY VARCHAR(255), Sensor_ID BIGINT NOT NULL, ENTITY_VALUE VARCHAR(255))": com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Duplicate column name 'ENTITY_VALUE' I also tried overriding the attributes on the Sensor class... @AttributeOverrides({ @AttributeOverride(name = "ENTITY_KEY", column = @Column(name = "SENSOR_KEY")), @AttributeOverride(name = "ENTITY_VALUE", column = @Column(name = "SENSOR_VALUE")) }) ... but the same error.     Hello, I have a Flex application that connects to a BlazeDS server using the StreamingAMF channel. On the server-side the logic is handled by a custom adapter that extends ActionScriptAdapter and implements FlexSessionListener and FlexClientListener interfaces. I am asking how can I detect which "flex-client" has closed a connection when for example the user is closing the browser? (so I can clean some infos inside the database) I tried using the following: 1. I;ve tried like: private static final String SPACE_PATH_REGEX_EXCLUDE ="[~a-z|A-Z|0-9|\\/|\\-|\\_|\\+]+"; if (myCompanyName.matches(SPACE_PATH_REGEX)) { myNewCompanySpaceName = myCompanyName; } else{ myNewCompanySpaceName = myCompanyName.replaceAll(SPACE_PATH_REGEX_EXCLUDE, "_"); } but does not work..., so in the 2nd regex "~" seems to not omit the following chars. Any ideea?

    I want to specify a custom icon for a makrer. Sadly, the icon that I chose is not displayed. Here's the relevant parts of the plugin.xml file (the project id "x"): <extension id="xmlProblem" name="XML Problem" point="org.eclipse.core.resources.markers"> <super type="org.eclipse.core.resources.problemmarker"/> <persistent value="true"> </persistent> </extension> <extension point="org.eclipse.ui.ide.markerImageProviders"> <imageprovider markertype="x.xmlProblem" icon="icons/marker.png" id="xmlProblemImageProvider"> </imageprovider> </extension> I also tried specifying a class (implementing IMarkerImageProvider) instead of an icon, but that getImagePath() method of the class does not get called.     I have a web service implemented in this folder in package in eclipse: src\hw2\agency\server to generate the client classes using WSGEN utility, I entered the following command in cmd: C:\Users\NOONA\workspace\HW2>wsgen -d . -keep -wsdl -classpath . hw2.agency.server.AgencyServiceServerImpl but I get the following error: Class not found: "hw2.agency.server.AgencyServiceServerImpl" so I was wondering, what should I do to make it find the class? thanks

    I see that Hibernate home page has a symbol informing that it implements JSR 317, but I couldn't find if it implements the full spec. Does anybody knows if Hibernate 3.5.0-CR-2 fully implements the JSR 317?
