  Question1: What is the best online forum to ask MSFT Excel questions of the following variety? Question2: How can I link an excel pivot-table to a potentially changing source table without having to re-draw the excel pivot-table layout every time the source table changes data. (Note, the columns are not changing, just the data in the rows). Background: I have an excel 2007 pivot table that is grabbing data from another sheet (an excel "table" ... tables are a new feature of excel 2007). When I change the data in the source table, and then go to the pivot table and press "refresh" ... the pivot table reverts to its "blank" format and requires me to re-drag the columns rows and values. What I want is for the pivot-table to simply re-draw itself without me having to re-create the pivot table layout.

  I needed to install UCS2 python next to UCS4 python. So I went to comp.lang.python and asked them about it. Probably not the best place to ask it, but they answered https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/comp.lang.python/bGuAfqa76W8 and now i have brand new python 2.7.3 ucs2 installed in /opt/bin/python What I need now is - how can I install all other python modules that I have installed for that python version also. Basically stuff like PIL and postgresql and mod_wsgi - basically everything needed to run Django for that python version. Is this the right the place to ask for it?

• Firefox does not load certificate chain

  I'm running lighttpd/1.4.28 (ssl) on Debian Squeeze. I just created a http://startssl.com certificate, I runs fine at all of my Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Opera), but my users are reporting certificate-errors in Firefox. I already nailed it down to a failing of loading of the certificate chain: Certificate at my Firefox: http://i.stack.imgur.com/moR5x.png Certificate at others Firefox: http://i.stack.imgur.com/ZVoIu.png (Note the missing StartCOM-certificates here) I followed this tutorial for embedding the certificate in my lighttpd: https://forum.startcom.org/viewtopic.php?t=719 The relevant parts of my lighttpd.conf look like this: $SERVER["socket"] == ":443" { ssl.engine = "enable" ssl.ca-file = "/etc/lighttpd/certs/ca-bundle.pem" ssl.pemfile = "/etc/lighttpd/certs/www.bisaboard.crt" } ca-bundle.pem was created like this: cat ca.pem sub.class1.server.ca.pem > ca-bundle.pem I grabbed the relevant files from here: http://www.startssl.com/certs/ www.bisaboard.crt was created like this: cat certificate.pem ssl.key > www.bisaboard.crt Where certificate.pem is my StartSSL-Class1 Certificate and ssl.key my SSL-Root-Key. Do you have any idea why the second Firefox does not correctly load the certificate-chain?

  I'm trying to enable permissions for a user on a Windows7 machine to use the built in feature called "Offer Remote Assistance" or "Windows Remote Assistance". This feature works fine if the user is added to the "domain admins" security group, but for security reasons, I cannot leave him in that group. This is within a SBS2003 Domain. I have added the user and also a group that he is apart of to the Small Business Server Remote Assistance Policy, after following some documentation I was able to find, but this has not worked. • I split partition in Windows 7 home edition but the Windows doesn't reboot

  I Have Geniune Windows 7 home edition and my Laptop is Pavilion HP DV6 . I had only 1 partition of 500+ GB i Wanted to make another partition. I read somewhere in forum that I have to make my C: logical and then I'd be able to split C: I did the same thing using Partition Wizard. I made C: of 125 GB and shift rest of the space in New drive. I made a bootable disk, performed all the task using partition Wizard After that I have not been able to boot my windows. Even after running system restore several times.

  I'm moving to Google Apps and have setup dual-delivery. Everything is fine, but for mail sent internally (from [email protected] to [email protected]), Exchange is not using the send connectors I have pointing to Google's servers. I believe my question is similar to this question: How to force internal email through an smtp connector in exchange 2007 Again, if a user is connected to the Exchange server and tries to send to [email protected] it works just fine, but I cannot seem to force *@mydomain.com to route correctly. This should be a fairly simple, but according to this: google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Apps/thread?tid=30b6ad03baa57289&hl=en (can't post two links due to spam prevention) It does not seem possible. Any ideas?

• Excel how to get an average for column for rows that meet multiple criteria

  I would like to know the average days between open and close dates for an item with a close date in a particular month. So from the below example in Jan 2013 items 2,5 and 6 were closed (Closed can be RESOLVED or CANCELLED status), each were open for 26, 9 and 6 days respectivly. So of the jobs that have a closed date in Jan 2013 (between 01/01/2013 and 13/02/13) they have an average open time (between open and close date) of 13.67 days to 2dp. I have tried a few ways to get this to work and i think the issue I am having is with the AVERAGE function. First time using a forum so apologies if my question is unclear. • Does HP 8530w support Wifi 802.11n?

  According to vendor site HP 8530w supports 802.11n draft mode. My Windows 7 tell me that network card is 5100 ABG and know nothing about N mode (guys from Intel forum mentioned, that 802.11N versions must ended with N letter, e.g. 5100 ABN). Not sure if it matter, but my laptop model id is #FU462EA. How could I check that my Wifi card compliant with 802.11n (I suspect that "draft N" could have two "special" meaning: doesn't work with 802.11n at all or requires special activation of the mode). Any hints are welcome.

• Not able to connect to a mac client from a windows machine

  I have a Server.exe file which I use to connect to a mac.(I am fairly confident that server.exe is not buggy ).When i try to do this I get this often cited error "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it " I did search some existing questions about this on the forum and it looked like this might be a firewall issue.FWIW I dont have any firewall set on my mac (client) and on my server machine (Windows 7 64 bit ) under the firewall settings I have :- Incoming connections : Block all connections to programs that are not on the list of allowed programs. Active Domain Networks: Same domain as the one which my client is on. Windows Firewire State: Off. Do you think i need to change something here?Can someone help me with next steps?

• How to eliminate overscan on Ubuntu HTPC

  I'm using an Ubuntu box with Nvidia graphics card as an HTPC. My HDTV is a Sony Bravia KDS-R50XBR1; this is a rear-projection unit with many inputs. I am using the HDMI input. I'm using the proprietary Nvidia drivers and they recognize the 1080x1920 resolution just fine. The display is a little fuzzy but at 50 inches it's perfect for movies. My problem is that the TV has three overscan settings, and none of them reduces overscan to zero. When I was using dual-screen this was fine, but I'm moving to where the TV is my only screen, and the Gnome panels are not visible because of the overscan. I'd like to figure out how to eliminate the overscan, without trying to scale my 1080p content down to 920p or something ridiculous like that. Ideally there would be some scurvy trick, perhaps involving the TV service menu, to get rid of the overscan on the TV side. Or I could move the Gnome panels, but I still would be missing the edges of my movies. Suggestions most welcome.

• Acer aspire 5520 power light blinks no boot

  My laptop was working fine last night, I hibernated it and went to sleep. Got up, pressed the power button. The power light comes on for 4 seconds and the hdd light blinked a few times, then it turned off for a second then repeats the process. The only way to stop this process/power down is to remove the AC and take out the battery. It does not even reach a boot screen, nothing shows up on the screen, fan does not start. People on this forum has the same problem but they suggest to put the laptop in a oven and heat it (reflow). What could be the problem? Is there another solution other than a reflow? I dont feel like putting my motherboard in the oven.

But what happen when motherboard for a desktop that supports( and had install) more RAM than the procesor can handle?(aka:procesor Max Memory Size). Is there any advantage to have a MB that hold a bigger RAM capacity than the CPU? If so, how can this be translate using in a program like Adobe After Effects, RAM preview? thanks

• xampp mysql and rubby

  I've installed ruby and xampp server. now i am trying to use xampp mysql for ruby application. i copied xampp mysql lib (libmysql) from C:\xampp\mysql\lib to C:\Ruby192\bin (as told on some post on this forum). now after that when i try to create a resource using following command, i get an error. command: rails generate scaffold ShortUrl url:string error: C:/Ruby192/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/mysql2-0.3.11-x86-mingw32/lib/mysql2/mysql2.rb:2:in `require': Incorrect MySQL client library version! This gem was compiled for 6.0.0 but the client library is 5.5.16. (RuntimeError) i know that there is version issue b/w ruby mysql client and xampp mysal. now i need advice that what is better solution? upgraded xampp mysql or downgrade ruby mysql version. Personally i want to upgrade xampp mysql but i read on some post that xampp mysql can't be upgraded. please advise.

When I set google chrome as the default browser, it picks the "default" user profile as against the custom one I have setup. I tried setting google chrome as default browser after opening it from that particular user profile, but it doesn't seem to have an effect. I've been searching online and in the Apache documentation for any mention of the equal-sign tilde operator, but I've found no mention of it. I know that some directives can take a tilde to use a regular expression, but I've never seen the m" ... " form used before. What exactly is that m" ... " for? Where else would you see this form?

  Hi guys, I hope I am in the right forum for this question. I love foobar2000 on windows and have 2 custom Tags for my mp3s Rate and mood. Now I have to use a Mac to play my music and emulating foobar won't work, because foobar has to recreate its database every time it starts... ans thats about 2h of hahsing - no good. So is there any way to read out, order by and write custom tags with iTunes or any other, if possible free, mac app? Thanks for your answers.

• IIS replaces redirect status header from PHP with 302 Redirect

  Hello I hope I am posting this in the correct place... I'm having an issue with a 301 redirect in php. Looking at the headers, if I do a simple 301 redirect, it actually appears as a 302 redirect which is not what I am after. This is the php code: header("Status: 301 Moved Permanently"); header('Location: newurl'); It is running on the latest version of php, IIS7 and uses the FastCGI module (which is apparently where this bug could exist). • My Unicomp Model M is double-striking on a key. What to do?

  I realize this isn't strictly a computer-related question, but I figured that if there's any place to go for help about a broken keyboard, it would be a power users' forum. The O key on my Unicomp Model M has the tendency to strike twice. In other words, I press the key once, and it sends out two letters.   Suppose you are apart from the mobile or whatever phone (so can't call 112 or 911 or 999), but have have access to a computer with internet connection. How do you call/message an emergency service (of whatever country in hope they will route the request to the correct destination) using only Internet? Maybe there's some 911-like website or public SIP or whatever? Or better go to some chat/forum/StackExchange/whatever and ask somebody to make a call for you? (will users really believe?) /* 1. • Can't deploy an ejb bean on jboss

  I am try to deploy a jar to an jboss server. It works on my environment. But when I deployed the same jar on another server, i kept getting an error saying that the persistence unit is already registered. There is no other bean using the same name and the same persistence unit name. I tried to restart the server and remove the tmp, work, data directory but still get the same error. here is my error: ObjectName: jboss.j2ee:service=EJB3,module=wess_jpa.jar State: FAILED Reason: java.lang.RuntimeException: javax.management.InstanceAlreadyExistsException: persistence.units:unitName=dses_wess already registered. • Enable: Asp.net connection pool monitoring with performance monitor

  If this question is at the wrong forum, be free to tell me. I'm a c# developer, but I'm running in a system management issue here. Intro: Im suspecting that an asp.net application is having some issues with the connection pool and that the pool is flooding from time to time. So to make sure, I want to monitor the connection pool. The problem: So I logged in to the asp.net server(The sql database is hosted on a different server) which hosts the website. Started performance monitor. But when I want to select 'Current # pooled and nonpooled connections', I have no instance to select. There fore I can't add it. Question How can I create/supply an instance so I can monitor the connection pool? Thanks in advance BHD
