  • What is the role and purpose of a bootstrapper?

    I'm working on an application which uses a bootscrapper object to perform some operations when the application first starts. e.g. registers IoC objects, puts certain variables into the asp.net Application session object, does some security checks etc. I had a look around the internet and couldn't find a reference to a bootscrapper pattern, or any article about the subject. Is this a known pattern under a different name?

  • Alpha plugin in GStreamer not working

    Hi! I'm trying to compose two videos, and I'm using the alpha plug-in to make the white color transparent. To test the alpha plug-in I'm creating the pipeline with gst-launch. The first test I done was: gst-launch videotestsrc pattern=smpte75 \ ! alpha method=custom target-r=255 target-g=255 target-b=255 angle=10 \ ! videomixer name=mixer ! ffmpegcolorspace ! autovideosink \ videotestsrc pattern=snow ! mixer. and it works great! Then I created two videos with those lines: gst-launch videotestsrc pattern=snow ! ffmpegcolorspace ! theoraenc ! oggmux ! filesink location=snow.ogv gst-launch videotestsrc pattern=smpte75 ! ffmpegcolorspace ! theoraenc ! oggmux ! filesink location=bars75.ogv And changed the videotestsrc to a filesrc and it continues working gst-launch filesrc location=bars75.ogv ! decodebin2 \ ! alpha method=custom target-r=255 target-g=255 target-b=255 angle=10 \ ! videomixer name=mixer ! ffmpegcolorspace ! autovideosink \ filesrc location=snow.ogv ! decodebin2 ! alpha ! mixer. But, when I use the ideo I want to compose, I'm not able to make the white color transparent gst-launch filesrc location=video.ogv ! decodebin2 \ ! alpha method=custom target-r=255 target-g=255 target-b=255 angle=10 \ ! videomixer name=mixer ! ffmpegcolorspace ! autovideosink \ filesrc location=snow.ogv ! decodebin2 ! alpha ! mixer.     Hi, I have an issue where in I have defined dependancies in ivy.xml on our internal corporate svn. I am able to access this svn site without any proxy task in ant. While my dependencies resides on ibiblio, that’s something outside our corporate, and needs proxy inorder to download something.   • In Objective C, what's the best way to extract multiple substrings of text around multiple patterns?

    For one NSString, I have N pattern strings. I'd like to extract substrings "around" the pattern matches. So, if i have "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" and my patterns are "brown" and "lazy" i would like to get "quick brown fox" and "the lazy dog." However, the substrings don't necessarily need to be delimited by whitespace. I have a hunch that there's a very easy solution to this, but I admit a disturbing lack of knowledge of Objective C string functions.

    Kohana 3.2 was designed to support the HMVC design pattern. The HMVC pattern consists of nested MVC-triads. Yet as far as I can tell, Kohana's cascading file system requires all Models and Controllers to be placed within a top 'classes' directory, and Views into a top 'views' directory. If Model/Controllers are thus separated from Views at the top level of the file system, then how are we supposed to implement nested MVC-triads?

    Hi Everyone, I use this pattern to test for undefined and null values in ActionScript/Flex : if(obj) { execute() } Unfortunately, a ReferenceError is always thrown when I use the pattern to test for child objects : if(obj.child) { execute() } ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property child not found on obj and there is no default value. Why does testing for child objects with if statements throw a ReferenceError? Thanks!

    I'm using a jQuery plugin called InfiniteScroll (https://github.com/paulirish/infinite-scroll) and I have a URL with this pattern: '/category/2/', when I paged the result I use the following pattern: "/category/2?page=2". When Infinite Scroll makes de request, he increments the wrong number, in the case above, the request is: "/category/3?page=2" in place of "/category/2?page=3". Anyone knows how workaround this?
