    Amazon Ec2 :: Redhat 6. 64 Bit I'm trying to follow the socks5 guidelines (http://www.catonmat.net/blog/linux-socks5-proxy/ ) to open a socks on one of our servers but unfortunately I got suck at step 1 . ssh -N -D 0.0.0.0:1080 localhost I get error Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic). How do I fix it ? Error code = 0x8007000b In MS connect this is reported as a bug but MS is unable to reproduce the problem altough when you search the fora I'm not the only one with this problem. So any help is appreciated.

I validated that the username and password are correct. I also installed a certification to use with the IKEv2 security type. I also validated that the VPN server support security method. First, the setup. I enable Console Redirection in the BIOS, turn BIOS Redirection after POSt to "disabled". I then modprobe'ed for ipmi_msghandler, ipmi_devintf and ipmi_si. I then found ipmi0 under /dev. So far so good.     I have a domain that i bought from DynDNS. I pointed the domain at my ip adress so i can run servers. The problem I have is that I don't live near the server computer... Can I use an ssh tunnel? As I understand it, this will let me access to my servers. I want the remote computer to direct traffic from port 8080 over the ssh tunnel to the ssh client, being my laptop's port 80. Is this possible?   • Sshfs is not working..

    Hi, When I run sshpass -p 'mypass' sshfs 'root'@'68.19.40.16':/ '/dir' -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no,debug It successfully mounts but it runs on foreground. When I run without 'debug' parameter, it doesn't mount at all. Server is ubuntu 8.04 Any ideas why? UPDATE: When I run the command as ROOT it does mount.     Just reinstalled OS X and for some reason I now cannot connect to a specific machine on my local network via SSH. I can SSH to other machines on the network without any problems, and other machines can SSH to the problematic one as well.     We have an SVN setup and there are some things we dislike about it and some things we like about it. We want to move to git, but we're not sure exactly what setup will work for us. We're currently using SVN (w/ Authz) + Apache (w/ WebDAV & LDAP). Hook to update the live site [like] Live site update requires no additional interaction [like] Live site update uses stored password [dislike] Commits require centralized-password authentication [like] Commit from live site changes stored credentials [dislike] Access control (per repository) for commits [like] Point 5 above is the one that keeps stuffing us up. Someone makes a commit from the live site and then the hook breaks. We're thinking to use gitosis/gitolite to get access control, but as they use ssh keys, we won't be requiring passwords. We're also thinking to use git-http-backend, and use Apache for authentication, but then do we lose access control? Can the live site be automatically updated from a hook if Apache requires authentication? Can we combine git-http-backend and gitosis/gitolite somehow? Can we store http credentials with git?

  • Limiting bandwidth on internal interface on Linux gateway

    I am responsible for a Linux-based (it runs Debian) branch office router that takes a single high-speed Internet connection (eth2) and turns it into about 20 internal networks, each with a seperate subnet (192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.20.0/24) and a seperate VLAN (eth0.101 to eth0.120). I am trying to restrict bandwidth on one of the internal subnets that is consistently chewing up more bandwidth than it should. What is the best way to do this? My first try at this was with wondershaper, which I heard about on SuperUser here. Unfortunately, this is useful for exactly the opposite situation that I have... it's useful on the client side, not on the Internet side.   • Firefox and Chrome keeps forcing HTTPS on Rails app using nginx/Passenger

    I've got a really weird problem here where every time I try to browse my Rails app in non-SSL mode Chrome (v16) and Firefox (v7) keeps forcing my website to be served in HTTPS. My Rails application is deployed on a Ubuntu VPS using Capistrano, nginx, Passenger and a wildcard SSL certificate. I have set these parameters for port 80 in the nginx.conf: passenger_set_cgi_param HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO http; passenger_set_cgi_param HTTPS off; The long version of my nginx.conf can be found here: https://gist.github.com/2eab42666c609b015bff The ssl-redirect.include file contains: rewrite ^/sign_up https://$host$request_uri? permanent ; rewrite ^/login https://$host$request_uri? permanent ; rewrite ^/settings/password https://$host$request_uri? permanent ; It is to make sure those three pages use HTTPS when coming from non-SSL request. My production.rb file contains this line: # Enable HTTP and HTTPS in parallel config.middleware.insert_before Rack::Lock, Rack::SSL, :exclude => proc { |env| env['HTTPS'] != 'on' } I have tried redirecting to HTTP via nginx rewrites, Ruby on Rails redirects and also used Rails view url using HTTP protocol. My application.rb file contains this methods used in a before_filter hook: def force_http if Rails.env.production? if request.ssl? redirect_to :protocol => 'http', :status => :moved_permanently end end end Every time I try to redirect to HTTP non-SSL the browser attempts to redirect it back to HTTPS causing an infinite redirect loop. Safari, however, works just fine. Even when I've disabled serving SSL in nginx the browsers still try to connect to the site using HTTPS. I should also mention that when I pushed my app on to Heroku, the Rails redirect work just fine for all browsers. The reason why I want to use non-SSL is that my homepage contains non-secure dynamic embedded objects and a non-secure CDN and I want to prevent security warnings. I don't know what is causing the browser to keep forcing HTTPS requests.

  • How to set up Git on remote instance using keys from local machine?

    I have a setup where I can ssh into my remote server (ie a Google Compute instance) from my local machine. I used to be able to clone, push, and pull from a repository on my remote instance without adding any keys to my remote instance, nor adding any new keys to my repository online (just the public key from my local machine). I believe the remote instance was using the keys from my local machine to authenticate my Git pushes and pulls. However, the system broke when I reinstalled the OS on my local machine. Now I when I try to connect with the Github server from my remote instance, I get the following: Cannot clone: [lucas@ecoinstance]~/node$ git clone [email protected]:lucasExample/test.git test Cloning into 'test'... Any suggestions would be great. I am not sure how to search for this concept where I can authenticate from a remote instance via my local machine, so any reference are appreciated as well.

  • Linux Mint reset display resolution from console

    I have a Linux Mint 13 Xfce in a VMware Workstation 8 VM and set the resolution from 800x600 to 1280x768 and now I get permanently logged out when I try to login. I knew how to get back to my old resolution back in the xorg.conf days but Linux Mint now uses xrandr which won't display any displays when running # xrandr because X is not running (of course not - I can't login over GUI). I know that there are configuration files in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/ because I configured a debian based thinclient's resolution in a file called /etc/X11/Xsession.d/91configure_display but that file doesn't exist in my Linux Mint VM. So, how do I reset my X screen resolution from console? Edit: I forgot to tell you that I can't change resolution in console: # xrandr -s 800x600 Can't open display This message appears every time I use xrandr or xrandr -s *resolution* Update: I tried what bWowk suggested: # export DISPLAY=:0.0 # xrandr -s 800x600 No protocol specified No protocol specified Can't open display :0.0 So, that doesn't work either. Isn't there a configuration file that is executed every time X starts? X is running btw - ps aux | grep X shows one process /usr/bin/X running.
