  How should class member variables be used in combination with class methods? Let's say I have a class 'C' with a member variable 'someData'. I call C.getData(), which does not return a value but instead puts data in C.someData. The class that instantiated 'C' first calls C.getData and then uses the data by accessing the member variable C.someData. I call C.getData() in the class that instantiated 'C' which is a function that returns data. I myself prefer the second way. But it also depends on the situation and it's a small difference. Is it 'bad' to have class methods that depend on the classes internal state? What are the best conventions?

• Session variables return completely after unsetting.

  I have a script that should log the user out of the site. It unsets all $_SESSION and $_COOKIE variables related to the login data of the user. But somehow, it seems impossible to log out. I checked the $_SESSION array at the end of the logout script, and at the beginning of each page. At the end of the logout script it says 'array()', but when I click the home button - or any link on the site - the full session data is back again and I don't know where it comes from. This is how I try to unset the session data: unset($_SESSION); unset($_COOKIE["usid"]); unset($_COOKIE["pw"]); unset($_COOKIE["adm"]); -- I don't know how to put it on different lines, but it's not that hard to read. Why do these data keep coming back?!

• Selecting a portion of a JSON array and applying variables in javascript or jquery

  I am retrieving a JSON file that returns its results like what you see below. The JSON has 365 days worth of data. I would like to create "views" of this JSON using javascript, one which pulls the last 10 days, then 1 month, 6 months, etc. After the getJSON function I am doing this to get a string as JSON, then turn it into an object and will then graph it. So I would like each "view" to be an object for the specified timeframe (using the one JSON).   Hello, I use settings.php to store general settings for my application. When I load this settings file, I can use the variables defined in settings.php in the script itself, but not within any functions I define in it. • Having trouble getting GET variables from url.

  Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with this algorithm to extract the get variables from a url and print them each on a new line like: x=y z=hello etc. but instead it prints a seemingly random section of the url with no newlines to the file.   I have one worksheet for setting up the data sources of multiple data validation lists. in other words, I'm using this worksheet to provide drop down lists to multiple other worksheets. I need to dynamically update all worksheets upon any of a single or several changes on the data source worksheet. I may understand this should come with event macro over the entire workbook. My question is how to achieve this keeping the "OFFSET" formula across the whole workbook ? Thx To support my question, I put the piece of code that I'm trying to get it working : Provided the following informations : I'm using such a formula for a pseudo dynamic update of the drop down lists, for example : =OFFSET(MyDataSourceSheet!$O$2;0;0;COUNTA(MyDataSourceSheet!O:O)-1) I looked into the pearson book event chapter but I'm too noob for this. I understand this macro and implemented it successfully as a test with the drop down list on the same worksheet as the data source. My point is that I don't know how to deploy this over a complete workbook. • Dynamic DataGrid columns in WPF DataGrid based on the underlying set of data (and their type)

  Hello everyone, I've got kind of a conceptual question. I am in the process of wrapping some statistics classes I wrote into WPF. For that I have two DataGrid(-Views, currently in WinForms). In one DataGrid each row represents a column in the other. There I can set-up different variables (as in mathematical/statistical variables) with fields like "Header", "DataType", "ValidationBehaviour", "DisplayType". There I can also set-up how it should be displayed. Some Columns can automatically be set to ComboBoxColumns, some TextBoxColumns, and so on and so forth. So, now once I've set-up these Columns I can go to the other grid and enter my data. I may, for instance, have generated (in grid 1) one Column called "Annual Gross Salary" with input of numerical values. Another Column called "Education" with "0=NoEducation", "1=College Level", "3=Universitary" etc. These labels are displayed as text in the combobox and my statistics engine behind then selects the respective value (0-3) for calculations (i.e. ordinal, nominal variables). Sooo. In WinForms I could basically generate all the columns by hand in code and then add my data in the respective cells/rows. Now in WPF I thought that must be easy to realise. However, yesterday I got started with ICustomPropertyDescriptor which (maybe I was too thick) didn't give me the results I was looking for. Basically, I just need to be able to dynamically generate columns (and rows) with different Layout, Controls (ComboBox, simple Input, DateTimes) based on the data that I have. But I don't really know how to go about it? So here in summary: DataGrid 1 Purpose is to display columns that have been specified in DataGrid 2 In rows, the user can add any kind of data in the rows below the columns that is allowed as to the columns specifications DataGrid 2 Each row in this grid represents a column in DataGrid 1 Contains fields like Name/Header, DataType, Validation Behaviour, Default Value, Data Formatting, etc. Also contains a function to be able to set-up how it should be displayed. The user can select from, for instance, ComboBoxColumn (and also add the available options), DateTime, normal TextBox, CheckBox etc. After finishing adding a row it will automatically appear as a new column in DataGrid 1 I'd appreciate any kind of pointer into the right direction.   Hi, I've created a linechart in flex using pure as3. I need now to convert it to a dynamic multi axis chart. What I mean by dynamic, is that I can programmatically add or remove axisrenderers from the verticalaxisrenderer array at runtime. It seems i can remove axisrenderers at runtime by simply doing this: verticalAxisRenderers = verticalAxisRenderers.splice(index,1); However, ADDING axisrenderers is not working. I am doing it by so: verticalAxisRenderers.push(ar2); verticalAxisRenderers = verticalAxisRenderers; Where am I going wrong? Please help! Thanks, Tone

  I inherited a project (lucky me!) which relies on a static library. Trying to build the static lib, I get this error: /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: -dynamic not specified the following flags are invalid: -ObjC It is followed by these two lines, which I do understand, but this appears to be a separate problem (missing file.) /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: can't locate file for: -lFlurryWithLocation /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: file: -lFlurryWithLocation is not an object file (not allowed in a library) Command /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool failed with exit code 1 Am I wrong, and it's all related? Will the 1st line error go away if I fix the missing file part? Either way, what does the -dynamic not specified part of message mean? Thanks!

I am new to c++ so I am not highly knowledge when it comes to static libraries and dynamic link libraries. All I know is static libraries increase the size of your program, where DLL link libraries are loaded as you need them within your program. [edit] I've played games where it almost seemed they used DLL's to load in sound, lighting, and what not all individually. as the level was loading up. cause you don't necessarily need that when your at the game menu.

• flash dynamic textfield, multiline and wordwrap acting funky.

  I have this weird thing happening with flash and a dynamic textfield. Basically, someone rolls over a marker on a map, and a tooltip pops up with a dynamic textfield. The textfield is set to multiline=true and wordwrap = true, and I defined a specific width of 160 pixels. The problem is, some of my text is jumping to the next line, some of it is just getting cut off. So if I have a line like "The Cat Jumped Over the Box", On one line I will see "The Cat Jumped" and on the next line I would see "the Box". It looks like it is masking out the "over" line and not pushing it to the next line. It's not doing this for everything, just some longer lines. This is a really weird bug and I have tried for 8 hours to get this fixed. Has anyone ran into this problem before?

  Hello All, I am very new to ASP.NET MVC and currently, I am involved in developing a new application in ASP.NET MVC 2. I am having problem in managing a long querystring parameters that comes from dBase. For example, in any non-mvc app the following URL works well: http ://example.com/test.aspx?first_name=fname&last_name=lname&email_id=email&address1=add1&address2=add2&city=city&state=state&zip_code=zip and so on. The QueryString parameter can be determined on the fly (i.e. at run-time). Now for dynamic QueryString how routing will be done? Also for a simple URL, the URL will be as follows (in ASP.NET MVC): http ://example.com/test/id/category But for above mentioned dynamic & long QueryString how the URL will look like?   Hi All, I want to set a restriction on my firewall (windows firewall on windows 2008) to only allow connections from a certain dynamic DNS. Is this possible? The reason I ask is that this would allow us to just change the IP on the dynamic DNS if our IP changes and means we won't get locked out of RDP. This also allows me to RDP in from other locations that have IP's that are not static by just changing the IP against the DNS. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

  TLDR I want to add some dynamic content into an Ext-JS window / popup. Currently I have tried assigning this content to a div and pulling on the innerhtml of that div like: new Ext.Window({ height: 50, width: 160, x: 0, y: 30, layout: "fit", html: document.getElementById('output').innerHTML; }).show(); Am using jquery & getjson to get the dynamic data. But that does nothing at all. Has anyone done something similar before? Can I give the html of the window an id and use it like an element?

• Problem including dynamic image in Eclipse BIRT 2.5.0 report on Windows

  I have a BIRT 2.5.0 report design with a dynamic image (URL is specified through report parameter, image formats tried - .png, .bmp). When running the report from our application on Ubuntu, everything renders OK. When doing exactly the same thing on Windows, there's following message instead of the actual image: Current report item is not supported in this report format. Same problem occurs when including image with a fixed URL - even though the image is displayed and loaded in the Report Designer, it's not rendered in report generated from our application. Again, this happens only on Windows. The only way I managed to get the image into a rendered report was through embedding it into the report design file, which is not suitable as the image has to be dynamic.
