  • Setting up a SQL server outside the domain

    Hi, im very new to this. I've set up an account "SQLBOX" thats on the a network, but not connected to the domain. I have installed an instance of SQL Server 2008 and am trying to connect to it from another machine on the network but am getting "Cannot connect to "SQLBOX"". From the "SQLBOX" i can connect to sqlservers on the domain, but not vice-versa. Any help would be grately appreciated. Sorry if the description isn't great. Thanks

Some clients I've looked so far: Blink, seems promising but the Linux variant lacks a lot of features Twinkle Latest release is ~2 years old. AFAIK the only one capable of encrypting calls using zrtp. Empathy: default tool for IM on ubuntu Ekiga Some features I'd like to see: availablity of buddies conference calls call log chat desktop sharing (Blink seems to do that for Mac) So my question is: what client software do you prefer and for what reason?

  • taskkill - end tasks with window titles ending with a specific string

    I need to write a batch program to end all MS office communicator tasks with window titles (usually ending with pattern "- Conversation" . I tried taskkill /FI "WINDOWTITLE eq *Conversation" /IM communicator.exe but the wildcard pattern starting with a '*' does not seem to work. Gives the folowing error ERROR: The search filter cannot be recognized. any suggestions for a workaround would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello, Im looking for the best way to accomplish a full backup of our "vmail" accounts on our mail server (CentOS "iRedMail" 5.1). I also need to split on 4GB parts the resulting tar or bzip compressed backup, and get this DVD-RW burned, on same server. The idea is to get this procedure to running overnight, once a week. Our mail server holds about 45GB of information. I will appreciate any advise or help on this topic. Thanks.

    Im using squid as a reverse proxy to host multiple web servers on one internet IP. It works fine and has been doing so for the past few months. I have just noticed that every request sent to my servers is logged as comming from the squid servers IP address. Is there anyway to make squid pass the originating IP to the web servers?

  • Completely remove MySQL from macbook pro

    Im prety sure i completely removed mysql from my system, except for one thing. When i type mysql in the command line i get this bash: /opt/local/bin/mysql5: No such file or directory How is it still recognizing where it thinks mysql should be? I'm trying to build it myself in /usr/local, and when i do install it there, i still get that error message for it looking for it in opt/local.

  • Ubuntu (9.1) behind a ISA proxy

    I have set up a Ubuntu PC on a next work that is behind a ISA Proxy. When I run the command sudo apt-get update I get several messages with this message: 502 Proxy Error (The ISA Sever denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator) The computer can see the internet and adding the proxy settings in the Network Preferences does not help. When I do a ifconfig Im on a 192 address which is not the usual subnet our PCs are on. Any ideas?

  • windows 7 Libraries corruption

    I've provided an image to show the issue that im currently having. So basically the libraries work fine on windows explorer works fine, but trying to access from a browser, to upload file for example, the libraries just don't work they seem to be empty. Looking at the image, the window on the left is from the chrome browser and the windows on the right is from windows explorer. Ive been getting reports form people who try accessing my site from a PS3, that every page appears like a jumble of random characters on a white background, sorta like echoing out a gzipped string as plain text. Im using nginx. Does the PS3 browser not support gzipping? Anything I can do except disabling it?

  • lwp-rget changes file format automatically to .bin?

    Im trying to recursively get an html page to get everything that's there and save it to my directory. Lwp-rget from perl allows me to do this but I'm having the problem that its getting all the files and changing them from .rpm, .xml, .html, etc to .bin. I've been trying to maybe use the --keepext=application/xml or any type but it continues to save the file as .bin. Any way I can stop that auto formatting? Thanks.

    When I boot Mint in recovery profile it says something about a bug, then it freezes on the line: Firmware bug DOD is defined but not DOS I want to access it because I need to restore it like it was the first time I used it. In doing googling and reasearch and talking to friends I ended up with router - cisco rv016 wifi access point - airnet 1142 lightweight access point. (lap1142n) In trying to set all this up and reading I think I bought the wrong access point. It seems I need a wireless controller?     Say I have the ip and mac address of a computer inside a network and I wish to send him a UDP message. By initializing the mac and ip addresses of the sent message to the given, when the network router recives the message he should pass it to the computer with the same mac address...right? Im asking becuase a program I write dosent seem to handle this limitation. it works great when its on the same network, but otherwise ...nada. Thanks
