  • Diagnosing Bootstrap 3 Glyphicon Button Icons Not Showing

    I have a glyphicons in Bootstrap 3. They work very nicely here: latest Chrome latest Firefox latest Safari latest Explorer latest Android At one facility, the glyphicons don't show. The buttons come up blank. How do I troubleshoot? They are security sensitive there. I don't have systems or network access.. and am not in a position to request that. Troubleshooting with advanced tools isn't going to happen. Here's what I have access to: Internet Explorer 9 Behind a very secure firewall Sometimes, I think the glyphs not showing is the IE 9.. but my code should be addressing that. Sometimes, I think their firewall is blocking the CDN. Can I enter a URL into a browser to test if the CDN is there? Sometimes, I think my FB share and like buttons upset this facilty's firewall, and they tie the whole thing down. Any suggestions at how I begin to research this? Or maybe you have an outright idea for IE 9 and glyphs (though my code is very-very close to the demo's which work).

  • Is there an easy way to configure an Ubuntu system to function as a proxy/file server from behind an NAT?

    Sorry for the long question, but the situation/desire is quite complex. Here is my setup: I have a laptop which I carry around everywhere and I have a desktop sitting at home, connected to the internet through a router using NAT. My objective is to create a connection from my laptop to my desktop that can allow me to (in order of priority): Use the desktop as a proxy server Access files on the desktop remotely Control said desktop from the laptop using VNC or similar. Now here is the scene. I have already looked up and tried several ways to achieve the above goals. Teamviewer - I used it and didn't like it. This is not an option. SSH - This seems ideal, I have figured a way to use this for both proxy and file sharing. However, I am currently unable to connect it due to the NAT. I have a separate thread trying to get that to work here. VPN - I've figured out how to use this method for proxy, but not file sharing. However this faces the same problem as the above: I can't get it to connect through the NAT. Does anyone have any other solutions for what I want? Otherwise, if there are solutions to connecting through the NAT, please tell me (in the other thread). Thanks

  • Problems with microphone and network

    Hello... very good day everybody! I'm having some problems regarding the Ubuntu 12.4.01 LTS. For this reason, cordially i ask everyone's help. Such problems can be summed up in network (01) and audio (02)! 01) I can not set a DSL network settings in the "upper bar" (on side the clock). When i create the connection, the system says that the cables modem are disconnected! I can only use the internet if i set up a connection at terminal through the command "pppoeconf". Follows the print screen of what i mentioned above:. http://i.imgur.com/8nTrF.png Obs.: Note that even after the connection "created", it does not appear there! 02) The sound is reproduced; however, can not be captured! I can not make recordings, obviously i can't use the microphone. I believe that something is giving interference or the settings are wrong!     I already bought a domain name .com on godaddy for my company. I would like to reserve the same name with country specific domain extention, but not sure where to buy them and how to do it. Here are the ones that I would like to buy: Europe: fr, co.uk, de, ch, es, it, nl, se, no, ru australia: com.au asia: sg Godaddy has all except 1 in europe, australia and singapore. Should I find a website that sell all of them or should I buy some of them in godaddy and others elsewhere? Any suggestions where to buy them?   • After installing ubuntu 12.04 my internet connection has completely disappeared

    On my PC after installing Ubuntu 12.04 my networks are completely gone. Inside the terminal, after typing in nm-tool I get the following: The program nm-tool is currently not installed. You can install by typing: sudo apt-get install network-manager After I type that in then my password I get this: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information...   • Keeping files private on the internet (.htaccess password or software/php/wordpress password)

    I was asked a while ago to setup a server such that only authenticated users can access files. It was like a test server for clients to view WIP sites. More recently, I want to do something similar for some of my files. Tho they are not very confidential, I wish that I am the only one viewing it. I thought of doing the same, Create a robots.txt User-agent: * Disallow: / Setup some password protection, .htpasswd seems like a very ugly way to do it. It will prompt me even when I log into FTP. I wonder if software method like password protected posts in Wordpress will do the trick of locking out the public and hiding content from Search Engines? Or some self made PHP script will do the trick?

  • Linksys Wireless-N ADSL2 WAG160N losing connection

    It seems that recently I have to turn off and then turn on my router every time I want to connect my laptop(s) to the internet. This is what's happens: When I want to connect to the internet on my laptop, the network icon in the system tray states that I am connected to the wireless network but there's no "internet connectivity" I turn off the router and turn it back on and then I can connect to the internet. I am sure there is something that needs to be done. Can you guys point me to the right direction?

  • Additional Drivers error installing in Ubuntu 12.04 (wireless internet and software modem)

    I've already search for similar problems but they are so different from mine. these are the drivers http://db.tt/qFZlD5JD I'm having problem with this Additional Drivers once I click the Activate button it will start in downloading and installing but after that it will say Installation failed. Then the "Enable Wireless" will not be available. With the Software Modem issue is the same problem with the Broadcom. These drivers are working on Ubuntu 9 and 11 if I'm not mistaken. Only on 12.04 is not working. One more thing these drivers will enable the Huawei E165g E220. I've already tried other solution for the Huawei to activate but all didn't work. After a restart Enable wireless becomes okay, though. To all Ubuntu experts and masters please I'm begging for help. A million Thank You!.

  • How would I isolate one networked PC to LAN only?

    I would like to have one of my PCs available to the rest of my home network for file sharing and VNC access, but I want to block any Internet traffic going to and from the PC. In other words, I want all local PCs I have connected to the router functioning as any normal LAN would, but when it comes to the Internet I want one particular PC to be "safe" from the Internet.   • Dead Linux server - need help and options

    All, I have a Dell PE 1950 w/ 2 SATA drives in a software RAID1. OS is CentOS 5.5 (2.6.18.x). Starting this afternoon we received HW errors (something on the bus is bad, E171F) and the machine became unresponsive. We hard booted and it came back up for about 5 hours but then it happened again. I'm trying to figure out our options. Unfortunately we do not have similar hardware but I have a small desktop that I can use. I was contemplating putting one of the drives into the desktop and then starting it up. My goal was to then P2V it using Vmware converter but apparently the free v5.x doesn't support hot cloning/converting on a RAID volume, only the Enterprise 4.x version of Converter does. My questions are: 1.) Is putting a single drive out of a RAID1 pair into another piece of HW is safe? Based on my research and understanding it appears to be but would like confirmation. 2.) Is there any work around to the Vmware Converter not supporting RAID volumes during a hot clone/convert session? 3.) Are there other options I'm overlooking?
