    I had setup a Samba 3 server as PDC with a passdb LDAP backend. Server SID: S-1-5-21-3270... Domain: A Every user has a SambaSID beginning with this Server SID. But now I try to setup a second server for some shares. This server should use the same LDAP backend because I don't want to have two LDAP backends. Otherwise I have to do modifcations (e.g. add users) twice. Second Server SID: S-1-5-21-3797... Domain: B But now when a user try to mount this new share I see this error in samba log: The primary group domain sid(S-1-5-21-3797....) does not match the domain sid(S-1-5-21-3270...) for xxx(S-1-5-21-3270...). I understand the problem but what can I do to avoid to maintain two LDAP backends? Regards, Simon

    I have a RubyOnRails application running on the same server that runs sendmail. The application sends out (no need to receive) emails via the local sendmail. Now I intend to move sendmail to a dedicated server. How do I make sendmail on that server accept connections from my application on the other server? I modified sendmail.mc from DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Family=inet, Name=MTA-v4, Port=smtp, Addr=127.0.0.1')dnl to DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Family=inet, Name=MTA-v4, Port=smtp')dnl I have also added to /etc/mail/access: Connect:198.211.117.41 RELAY then ran m4 sendmail.mc > sendmail.cf and restarted sendmail. Trying to connect from my app server with telnet on port 25 to the mail server gives me: telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused Am I missing something?

So far I am using student.scores.average(:score) on each student, and I realise that it is doing one sql per student. How can I make the list with one joined sql?     This January I'm migrating our main SQLServer 2000 based database to a beefier server. Is there any standard procedure or documentation on how to do it? I need to replicate all at the new server (databases, jobs, DTSs, vinculated servers, etc). Edit: I mean SQLServer 2000 on both ends! Edit: Be calm, people, I just crossed the versions from another software I posted about at the same time as this. Effectively, I even checked the wikipedia to be sure version 8 was 2000.     I have a document (docA) with arabic page numbers in the header. Now docA is part of a thesis which has roman numbers in the footer. So I want to add roman page numbers to docA. This is no problem. But now I want to adjust the numbering of the roman numbers (as the thesis has lets say five pages). This is what I want: arabic page numbers in the header, starting at 1 roman page numbers in the footer, starting at VI I tried this: I choosed 'Page Number', 'Page Number Format' and tried to adjust the starting point. However, this changes both page numbers. How is it possible to have different numbering in the header and in the footer?

    I have an rsync command for copying my files from dev to production. I don't want to copy the .htaccess file that's in the root of the HTML directory but, I do want to copy the few .htaccess files that are in its sub directories. I'm using the argument --exclude .htaccess which is stopping all of the files from getting copied. The other arguments I'm including are -a --recursive --times --perms. Is it possible to configure rsync to do this? Edit: Here is my full command: rsync -a --recursive --times --perms \ --exclude prop_images --exclude tracking --exclude vtours \ --exclude .htaccess --exclude .htaccess_backup --exclude "*~" \ /home/user/dev_html/* /home/user/public_html/

  • Can you give one directory two SELinux Policies?

    Out of laziness I want to be able FTP into my WWW directory. However, the SELinux permissions for apache(user_u:object_r:httpd_sys_content_t) to be able to use the WWW directory and for the user(system_u:object_r:user_home_dir_t ) to use the WWW directory are different. Anyway, around this problem without disabling SELinux? Thanks.

    I am looking for best practice or recommended ways of doing the following: I have a user that has 2 email addresses, he accesses them via POP 3 and OWA. He need to be able to send as each of the addresses. I do not want to create multiple AD accounts or mailboxes, but would like to be able to provide that visual separation. Is this possible, I know using Outlook I am able to add multiple POP3 accounts and he can send from whichever he choose, but how to enable this is OWA, as well as on a mobile using POP3. Thanks

  • Can't connect to IIS7 on one of my machines

    Hello, I have 2 computers, both running Win7 Professional x64. Computer "A" (192.168.0.10) is my work machine, it contains my tools etc. Computer "B" (192.168.0.15) is supposed to be my build server / web server for my projects I've installed IIS on "B", and installed IIS7 remote manager on "A". I'm trying to connect from A's IIS7 Manager to B's IIS but I fail. I have little knowledge of IIS, and I feel that's the main reason. I can ping B from A and get positive results so the machines do see each other. A and B are in the same workgroup but not in a domain (if that matters) - they're in my home network. What do I need to do to "see" B's IIS?

    I am looking to see if anything exists that would allow us to capture all outgoing email on a machine -- for example, in a staging environment -- and drop it in a single place, which ideally would be something we could check with a mail client. Currently we're doing this on the software level (if environment is staging, rewrite address) which is a bit ugly and leads to errors. The servers are currently on Debian Linux, using exim as the mail transport. Open to any and all suggestions!

    Hello, I have two domain's set up on my server. Domain 1 is configured with google apps so that mail.domain1.com goes to google's mail. However, I would like domain1.com to redirect to domain2.com. Currently in my nginx.conf file I had server { listen 80; server_name domain2.com .domain1.com; rewrite ^/(.*) http://domain2.com permanent; root /home/demo/apps/cjl/public; passenger_enabled on; rails_spawn_method smart; } When I did this Firefox popped up a "Redirect not configured correctly" error and said that it thought that the redirect would create a never ending loop. I'm wondering how to set this up and any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
