• Resizing and saving an image in WinMobile and .NET CF throws OutOfMemoryException

  I have a WinMobile app which allows the user the snap a photo with the camera, and then use for for various things. The photo can be snapped at 1600x1200, 800x600 or 640x480, but it must always be resized to 400px for the longest size (the other is proportional of course). And I don't know why, since I dispose the tempPhoto (with the original photo from the camera) as soon as I can, and I also dispose the Graphics obj. Why does this happen? It seems impossible to me that one can't take a photo with the camera and resize/save it without making it crash :( Should I restor t C++ for such a simple thing? Thanks.

• pyscripter Rpyc error

  pyscripter 2.5.3.0 x64, python 2.7.7 anaconda 2.0.1, windows 7 I was using pyscripter and EPD python happily in 32 bit, no problem. Just changed to 64 bit anaconda version and re-installed everything but now pyscripter cannot import rpyc -- it runs with internal engine (no anaconda), but no such error in pure python. • Titanium won't run iPhone/Android Emulator

  I just installed Titanium SDK (1.5.1) and all the Android SDKs. Also, I already have iPhone SDK 4.2 installed. I downloaded KitchenSink and imported it into Titanium but whenever I try to run it on iPhone Emulator, I get this error: [INFO] One moment, building ... • dojox.grid.DataGrid populated from Servlet

  I'd like to hava a Dojo dojox.grid.DataGrid with its data from a servlet. Problem: The data returned from the servlet does not get displayed, just the message "Sorry, an error has occured". If I just place the JSON string into the HTML, it works. ARRRRGGH. Can anyone please help me! • UTF-8 character encoding battles json_encode()

  Quest I am looking to fetch rows that have accented characters. The encoding for the column (NAME) is latin1_swedish_ci. " "; } $r[] = $row; } The displayed values: 5482 5482 Abord â Plouffe Abord â Plouffe The array is then encoded using json_encode: $rows = db_fetch_all( $result ); echo json_encode( $rows ); Problem The web browser receives the following value: {"ID":"5482","NAME":null} Instead of: {"ID":"5482","NAME":"Abord â Plouffe"} (Or the encoded equivalent.) Question The documentation states that json_encode() works on UTF-8. I can see the values being encoded from LATIN1 to UTF-8. After the call to json_encode(), however, the value becomes null. How do I make json_encode() encode the UTF-8 values properly? One possible solution is to use the Zend Framework, but I'd rather not if it can be avoided.

What causes this error? I know it is at detach, but what am I doing wrong in my code? Windows shows lots of free memory, so it should not be the computer running out of memory, this error occurs even if I set $maxthreads as low as 10 or possibly even lower.

• Make fancybox jQuery plugin with results from submitting a form on same page

  I am trying to take form results that are generated from a PHP call and populate them into a div that will then appear in a light box upon click of the submit button. So far I have successfully setup the form and am populating the results on the same page into a hidden div. I can make this div appear no problem in a light box by setting up a href link but cannot make it show up by simply by clicking the submit button. I know my fancybox and jQuery calls are good but not sure where I'm going wrong on the submit button.   What is the difference between the two lines of code below: CComPtr< IInterface > m_interface; IInterface* m_interface; I know that CComPtr help eliminate memory leaks, but I am getting inconsistent results. When declaring the pointer with CComPtr< IInterface > m_interface; and using the interface in my C# code there are no errors, however using the Interface in VC++ I get an unhandled exception error, even if I comment out the instance creation of IInterface. I am pretty sure the problem is in here somewhere: STDMETHODIMP CSomeClass::get_IClass(IClass** var) { return m_class_var->QueryInterface(var); } STDMETHODIMP CSomeClass::putref_IClass(IClass* var) { m_class_var = var; return S_OK; } When I declare the interface pointer with: IInterface* m_interface; I get a RPC_E_SERVERFAULT error when testing the Interface in C# and have to explicitly call GC.Collect() to avoid the error being thrown after instantiation of a few objects. When testing the Interface in VC++ the error is consistent however when it occurs is different. If I comment out the instance creation of IInterface the code runs fine, however when I try to create an instance I get same error as before, just a vague unhandled exception error. What am I doing wrong here?

• Any way to avoid creating a huge C# COM interface wrapper when only a few methods needed?

  Greetings all, I’m working on a C# program that requires being able to get the index of the hot item in Windows 7 Explorer’s new ItemsView control. Fortunately, Microsoft has provided a way to do this through UI Automation, by querying custom properties of the control. Unfortunately, the System.Windows.Automation namespace inexplicably does not seem to provide a way to query custom properties! This leaves me with the undesirable position of having to completely ditch the C# Automation namespace and use only the unmanaged COM version. One way to do it would be to put all the Automation code in a separate C++/CLI module and call it from my C# application. However, I would like to avoid this option if possible, as it adds more files to my project, and I’d have to worry about 32/64-bit problems and such. The other option is to make use of the ComImport attribute to declare the relevant interfaces and do everything through COM-interop. This is what I would like to do. However, the relevant interfaces, such as IUIAutomation and IUIAutomationElement, are FREAKING HUGE. They have hundreds of methods in total, and reference tons and tons of interfaces (which I assume I would have to also declare), almost all of which I will never ever use. I don’t think the UI Automation interfaces are declared in any Type Library either, so I can’t use TLBIMP. Is there any way I can avoid having to manually translate a bajillion method signatures into C# and instead only declare the ten or so methods I actually need? I see that C# 4.0 added a new “dynamic” type that is supposed to ease COM interop; is that at all relevant to my problem? Thanks

Doing functional testing of view model, I can mock service proxy to ensure methods are called on the proxy, but how can I ensure that callback method is called as well? With RhinoMocks I can test that events are handled and event raise events on the mocked object, but how can I test callbacks? • Nunit Relative Path failing

  I'm having an issue with Nunit where I cannot find an image file when I run my tests and each time it looks for images it looks in the Nunit folder instead of looking inside the folder where the binary resides. Below is a detailed description of what's happening. I'm building a binary that is under test which contains the definition for some game elements and png files which will define the sprites I'm using (for sanity sake call it Binary1) Nunit runs tests from a seperate binary (Binary1Test) executing test methods against the first binary (Binary1). All tests pass, unless the test executes code in Binary1 which then requires Binary1 to use one of the image files (which are defined via a relative path). When the method is called, Nunit throws a file not found exception stating that it cannot find the file and states it's looking inside of the Program Files\Nunit.net 2.0 folder So I have no idea why the code is doing this, and to make matters more confusing when I pull up Enviornment.CurrentDirectory it gives me the correct path (the path to my debug folder) and not the path to nunit. Also if I use this instead of using the relative path, my tests will run without issue. So my question is, does anyone know why in the case of loading relative paths from within my binary that nunit decides to use it's directory instead of the directory where the binary is located and where the images are stored? • Flex: How to refresh/repaint a chart?

  I have a chart for which the data is provided asynchronously via a CallResponder (used with a RemoteObject). However, it does not seem possible to update the chart with the data after it has been initially drawn. I have tried: Firing a collection modified event after assigning it to chart.dataProvider calling invalidateDisplayList (tried with all components) binding the chart data provider to a variable, and doing the above. changing the view state on the last line of resultHandler. None of them worked. When I fetch the data and cache it locally, then use it to call init synchronously, the chart displays correctly. What am I missing here?

  Hey, I have experience with MSBuild and Hudson, but am new to MSDeploy. I currently have a simple solution with one web application project. I set up a build configuration and am using the "Publish" command (Visual Studio 2010) to simply copy files to a local folder and do config file replacement. What I would like to do is automate this using Hudson. So I figure I'll create an MSBuild script that will Perform the build (by calling out to the project file with my desired build configuration) Call MSDeploy to do all the same things that the "Publish" command is doing, except copy the files to a different folder. Configure Hudson to poll subversion and perform steps 1 & 2 when changes are detected Step 2 is where I'm getting lost. I assumed that the project.xml file that was created by VS2010 corresponded to -verb:sync -source:manifest=project.xml options, but msdeploy is choking on that xml file so clearly that's not what it's intended for. What command is Visual Studio executing under the covers to perform the config file replacement and the file copy? How do I automate the Publish command?

• VBA-Sorting the data in a listbox, sort works but data in listbox not changed

Its like the listbox is being passed by value instead of by ref. Here's the sub that does the sort and the line of code that calls the sort sub. • Images missing after moving Django to new server

  I'm moving Django project to new server. I'm newbie in Django, and I don't know where should be upload folder. There are all images which should be displayed on website. In config file I haven't seen upload folder I could specify, so I'm guessing it always should be the same location for django projects or I just can't find it. Locations are saved in database. When I've put uploaded files into media folder, so url was like domain.co.uk/media/upload/media/images/year/month/day/image_name.ext and the same is on the old website, images on website ware still missing. All images are visible if I put url by hand, but django doesn't seems to see files. • What is the correct way to synchronize a shared, static object in Java?

  This is a question concerning what is the proper way to synchronize a shared object in java. One caveat is that the object that I want to share must be accessed from static methods. My question is, If I synchronize on a static field, does that lock the class the field belongs to similar to the way a synchronized static method would? Or, will this only lock the field itself? In my specific example I am asking: Will calling PayloadService.getPayload() or PayloadService.setPayload() lock PayloadService.payload? Or will it lock the entire PayloadService class? public class PayloadService extends Service { private static PayloadDTO payload = new PayloadDTO(); public static void setPayload(PayloadDTO payload){ synchronized(PayloadService.payload){ PayloadService.payload = payload; } } public static PayloadDTO getPayload() { synchronized(PayloadService.payload){ return PayloadService.payload ; } } ... • Salesforce/PHP - outbound messages (SOAP) - memory limit issue

  I'm using Salesforce to send outbound messages (via SOAP) to another server. The server can process about 8 messages at a time, but will not send back the ACK file if the SOAP request contains more than 8 messages. SF can send up to 100 outbound messages in 1 SOAP request and I think this is causing a memory issue with PHP. If I process the outbound messages 1 by 1 they all go through fine, I can even do 8 at a time with no issues. But larger sets are not working. ERROR in SF: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file Looking in the HTTP error logs I see that the incoming SOAP message looks to be getting cut of which throws a PHP warning stating: Premature end of data in tag ... PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getAttribute() on a non-object This leads me to believe that PHP is having a memory issue and can not parse the incoming message due to it's size. I was thinking I could just set: ini_set('memory_limit', '64M'); But would this be the correct approach? Is there a way I could set this to increase with the incoming SOAP request dynamically? (it round-robbins through the URLs) When Ejb-B DOES EXIST on the same server, and Ejb-A happens to call Ejb-B on the same server, everything works correctly. When Ejb-B DOES EXIST on the same server, and Ejb-A calls Ejb-B on a different server, I get: javax.ejb.EJBException: nested exception is: java.lang.ClassCastException: $Proxy126 java.lang.ClassCastException: $Proxy126 NOTE (not normal use case but may help): When Ejb-B DOES EXIST on the same server, and this server is NOT listed in the provider URLs for Ejb-B, and Ejb-A calls Ejb-B on a different server, I get the same Exception as above. I'm using Weblogic 10.0, Java 5, EJB3 Basically, if Ejb-B Exists on the server, it must be called ONLY on that server. Which leads me to believe that the class is getting loaded by a local classloader (on deployment?), then when called remotely, a different classloader is loading it. (causing the Exception) But it should work, as it should be Serialized into the destination classloader... What am I doing wrong?? Also, when reproducing this locally, Ejb-A would favor the Ejb-B on the same server, so it was difficult to reproduce. But this wasn't the case on other machines.
