    All, I am proposing the addition of code obfuscation to the standard build process at my organization. One of the questions being asked is whether there is a performance hit to running obfuscated code vs. running unobfuscated code. What is your experience?     I have an ApplicationContext.xml file with the following node: <context:property-placeholder location="classpath:hibernate.properties, classpath:pathConfiguration.properties" /> It specifies that both properties files will be used by my application. Inside pathConfiguration.properties, some paths are defined, such as: PATH_ERROR=/xxx/yyy/error PATH_SUCCESS=/xxx/yyy/success A PathConfiguration bean has setters for each path. The problem is: when some of those mandatory paths are not defined, no error is thrown. How and where should I handle this problem?

    or do I have to use 2 separate DbDataAdapters with single-table Selects and then use DataRelations? like: SELECT Persons.LastName, Persons.FirstName, Orders.OrderNo FROM Persons INNER JOIN Orders ON Persons.P_Id=Orders.P_Id ORDER BY Persons.LastName I can't yet try this.   • Need a good way to store data in a DB from a table on a webpage that can have N columns.

    Users need to be able to add a specific type of column to an otherwise static table on my web page and then save the information they enter in there to the database. I've been told that in reality they will almost never go over 5 columns but I would rather support N. The columns will all be of the same datatype. My first thought was to have an XML column with the values from all added columns in there but I was curious if anyone else had come up with a better solution. Suggestions?

  • Can I rename Main.mxml?

    We have several Flash objects included in our project. We call each one a specific type of widget... For readability/debugging purposes I'd like to rename Main.mxml to something else. At first this seemed easy, as it would be just a setting in our maven configuration (we're using flex mojos to build our swf). However; changing the sourceFile from Main.mxml to MyWidget.mxml doesn't seem to do it. Any thoughts?

    The new documentation on ProGuard for Android says to add a line to the default.properties file in the project home directory. However, on opening this file, I read at the top: # This file is automatically generated by Android Tools. # Do not modify this file -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE ERASED! Am I missing something? Also, is there a way to enable ProGuard only for a production build from Eclipse (i.e., when exporting the finished product)?

    Hi, When using visual studio to develop c++ applications, I used to write _asm int 3; and then build the application. When the application is executed, if the code path that has "_asm int 3" is encountered Visual Studio Debugger used to get lauched and I could debug the problems.   • ASP.NET site errors output nothing on the page.

    OK, i have been doing some work modding a pre-compiled ASP.NET application (VB codebehind) but i have come across something i have never seen before. When ever theres an error on the loading of a page, the page outputs nothing (no error message, no error message, nothing at all) firefox displays this error: XML Parsing Error: no element found Location: http://site.local/Checkout.aspx Line Number 1, Column 1: Because there is no html output. Is there some sort of setting that im missing that makes IIS/ASP.NET function like this?
