  The following code prints out "vmtDataOrig.creationdate=2012-11-03" VmtData vmtDataOrig = VmtDataDao.getInstance().loadVmt(1); System.out.println("vmtDataOrig.creationdate=" + vmtDataOrig.getCreationDate().toString()); Here is the definition of the creationDate field in the VmtData class: private Date creationDate = null; Here is the hibernate mapping of the creationDate field to the database table column: <property name="creationDate" column="CREATIONDATE" type="date"/> The CREATIONDATE column in the MySQL database table is of type "date", and for the record retrieved it has the value "2012-11-03". The Javadoc for the java.util.Date.toString() method says it is supposed to print the Date object in the form "dow mon dd hh:mm:ss zzz yyyy". Anyone know why it is printing it out in the form "yyyy-MM-dd"?

  I'm building a simple flash site for a friend who has a spa. I keep getting this error: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at spa7_fla::MainTimeline/frame1() through the process of commenting out code, i've narrowed down to my link section: vox_link.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,gotoVox); function gotoVox(evtObj:Event):void { var voxSite:URLRequest=new URLRequest("http://www.voxmundiproject.com"); navigateToURL(voxSite, "_blank"); } With this section commented out, i don't get the 1009 error. However, the xDate attribute can only store dates, e.g. dd/MM/yyyy. How do I refactor the above to store a full date object using just one field, i.e. dd/MM/yyyy HH24:mm?

  I'm having troubles with fckeditor in Firefox. When the user goes to a page, the html (encoded) is stored in a hidden input element. I call the predefined fckeditor javascript event to populate my editor with the html from the hidden ContentBody element. function FCKeditor_OnComplete( editorInstance ) { editorInstance.InsertHtml(""); var sample = document.getElementById("ContentBody").value; editorInstance.InsertHtml(sample); } This automatically populates the editor with the desired text in IE, but in Firefox it doesn't. The first update / draw works fine - but any subsequent changes to the variables (the start and end date) do not show up - even though the json pulled from the server seems to be correct (according to firebug).   I'm using psql to run a simple set of COPY statements contained in a file: psql -d mydb -f 'wbf_queries.data.sql' where wbf_queries.data.sql contains lines: copy <my_query> to '/home/gvkv/mydata' delimiter ',' null ''; ... but I get a permission denied error: ... ERROR: could not open file ... for writing: Permission denied I'm connecting under my user account (gvkv) which is also a superuser in PostgreSQL. Obviously, psql is running under a different (effective) user but I don't know how to change this. Can it be done within psql or do I need some unix-fu?

I do use the file in one line of code, but once that action has been ran, I want the file deleted. I have logged the error code and message and I get error code: 4 and the message: "text.txt" could not be removed Is there a way to fix this error "cleanly" (without any hacks) so that apple will accept this app onto their Mac App Store?   My site has Listings. Users can ask Questions about listings, and the author of the listing can respond with an Answer. However, the Answer might need clarification, so I've made them recursive (you can "answer" an answer). So how do I set up the database? The way I have it now looks like this (in Django-style models): class QuestionOrAnswer(Model): user = ForeignKey(User, related_name='questions') listing = ForeignKey(Listing, related_name='questions') parent = models.ForeignKey('self', null=True, blank=True, related_name='children') message = TextField() But what bugs me is that listing is now an attribute of the answers as well (it doesn't need to be). What happens if the database gets mangled and an answer belongs to a different listing than its parent question? That just doesn't make any sense. We can separate it with polymorphism: QuestionOrAnswer user message created updated Question(QuestionOrAnswer) shipment Answer(QuestionOrAnswer) parent = ForeignKey(QuestionOrAnswer) And that ought to work, but now ever question and answer is split into 2 tables. Is it worth this overhead for clearly defined models?

  greetings all um using spring security 3.0.2,all the application pages are secured to see them you must be authenticated um using https protocol i have a strange problem that after successful login and got to the requested page when try to open any link to other pages in the application the session is invalidated or lost or what happened i don't know and the user become anonymous,and redirected to the login page and i got this from debugging: No HttpSession currently exists No SecurityContext was available from the HttpSession: null. A new one will be created. after reviewing the coe many times,nothing in the code is invalidating the session,any ideas why something like this might happen?

  In my database I have an id column defined as [autonumber] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL which is mapped in my .hbm.xml like: <id name="Id" column="autonumber" type="int"> <generator class="identity" /> </id> When calling session.Save() updates are successful committed to the database. When adding a versioning trigger I however get the error this id generator generates Int64, Int32, Int16 of type IdentifierGenerationException.
