• Need assistance matching a general theme style as well as eCommerce capability

  I'm in the process of acquiring a new design client. They are getting into the business of "auto parts wholesaling" and they want a storefront. My preference is/was to create something from scratch. However, here is an established trend in their particular market (similar parts, layout, etc). They insist on following the existing visual trend, as per the following: http://www.xtremediesel.com/ http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/ http://www.alligatorperformance.com/ My plan of attack at this point is to find a comparable WP theme and a flexible (but useful) backend/product management. Their current demo site (which their previous developer made a stab at) is using Pinnacle Cart. It is no where near what they need, nor is it intuitive to work with. I was actually considering Magento for its greater abilities but I'm still considering options. That said, my two primary dilemmas are as follows: 1) I need a theme that mimics the general style of those listed. They explicitly said they didn't want anything too clean (e.g. ThemeForest, Woothemes) as it "wasn't rugged or busy looking enough" for their field. 2) I need a WP/Magento/WP e-Commerce (or any one of a host of other) plugin that will allow for bulk import/update of nearly 200,000 products, descriptions and images. I'm not opposed to manually interfacing with the DB for import, but in the end, I need a store/system that doesn't needlessly add 50 tables to accommodate some "wet behind the ears" concept of table normalization and is easy to add to. Anyway, if anyone has any quality suggestions regarding either of these issues, it would be most appreciated. Best.

• Boost your infrastructure with Coherence into the Cloud

Thinking about the enterprise cloud, come to mind many possible configurations and new opportunities in enterprise environments. Various customers needs that serve as guides to this new trend are often very different, but almost always united by two main objectives: Elasticity of infrastructure both Hardware and Software Investments related to the progressive needs of the current infrastructure Characteristics of innovation and economy. A concrete use case that I worked on recently demanded the fulfillment of two basic requirements of economy and innovation.The client had the need to manage a variety of data cache, which can process complex queries and parallel computational operations, maintaining the caches in a consistent state on different server instances, on which the application was installed.In addition, the customer was looking for a solution that would allow him to manage the likely situations in load peak during certain times of the year.For this reason, the customer requires a replication site, on which convey part of the requests during periods of peak; the desire was, however, to prevent the immobilization of investments in owned hardware-software architectures; so, to respond to this need, it was requested to seek a solution based on Cloud technologies and architectures already offered by the market. Coherence can already now address the requirements of large cache between different nodes in the cluster, providing further technology to search and parallel computing, with the simultaneous use of all hardware infrastructure resources. Moreover, thanks to the functionality of "Push Replication", which can replicate and update the information contained in the cache, even to a site hosted in the cloud, it is satisfied the need to make resilient infrastructure that can be based also on nodes temporarily housed in the Cloud architectures. There are different types of configurations that can be realized using the functionality "Push-Replication" of Coherence. Configurations can be either: Active - Passive  Hub and Spoke Active - Active Multi Master Centralized Replication Whereas the architecture of this particular project consists of two sites (Site 1 and Site Cloud), between which only Site 1 is enabled to write into the cache, it was decided to adopt an Active-Passive Configuration type (Hub and Spoke). If, however, the requirement should change over time, it will be particularly easy to change this configuration in an Active-Active configuration type. Although very simple, the small sample in this post, inspired by the specific project is effective, to better understand the features and capabilities of Coherence and its configurations. Let's create two distinct coherence cluster, located at miles apart, on two different domain contexts, one of them "hosted" at home (on-premise) and the other one hosted by any cloud provider on the network (or just the same laptop to test it :)). These two clusters, which we call Site 1 and Site Cloud, will contain the necessary information, so a simple client can insert data only into the Site 1. On both sites will be subscribed a listener, who listens to the variations of specific objects within the various caches. To implement these features, you need 4 simple classes: CachedResponse.java Represents the POJO class that will be inserted into the cache, and fulfills the task of containing useful information about the hypothetical links navigation ResponseSimulatorHelper.java Represents a link simulator, which has the task of randomly creating objects of type CachedResponse that will be added into the caches CacheCommands.java Represents the model of our example, because it is responsible for receiving instructions from the controller and performing basic operations against the cache, such as insert, delete, update, listening, objects within the cache Shell.java It is our controller, which give commands to be executed within the cache of the two Sites So, summarily, we execute the java class "Shell", asking it to put into the cache 100 objects of type "CachedResponse" through the java class "CacheCommands", then the simulator "ResponseSimulatorHelper" will randomly create new instances of objects "CachedResponse ". Finally, the Shell class will listen to for events occurring within the cache on the Site Cloud, while insertions and deletions are performed on Site 1. Now, we realize the two configurations of two respective sites / cluster: Site 1 and Site Cloud.For the Site 1 we define a cache of type "distributed" with features of "read and write", using the cache class store for the "push replication", a functionality offered by the project "incubator" of Oracle Coherence.For the "Site Cloud" we expect even the definition of “distributed” cache type with tcp proxy feature enabled, so it can receive updates from Site 1.  Coherence Cache Config XML file for "storage node" on "Site 1" site1-prod-cache-config.xml Coherence Cache Config XML file for "storage node" on "Site Cloud" site2-prod-cache-config.xml For two clients "Shell" which will connect respectively to the two clusters we have provided two easy access configurations.  Coherence Cache Config XML file for Shell on "Site 1" site1-shell-prod-cache-config.xml Coherence Cache Config XML file for Shell on "Site Cloud" site2-shell-prod-cache-config.xml Now, we just have to get everything and run our tests. TEST 1The purpose of this test is to load the objects into the "Site 1" cache and seeing how many objects are cached on the "Site Cloud". Within the "Shell" launched with parameters to access the "Site 1", let’s write and run the command: load test/100 Within the "Shell" launched with parameters to access the "Site Cloud" let’s write and run the command: size passive-cache Expected result If all is OK, the first "Shell" has uploaded 100 objects into a cache named "test"; consequently the "push-replication" functionality has updated the "Site Cloud" by sending the 100 objects to the second cluster where they will have been posted into a respective cache, which we named "passive-cache". TEST 2The purpose of this test is to listen to deleting and adding events happening on the "Site 1" and that are replicated within the cache on "Cloud Site". In the "Shell" launched with parameters to access the "Site Cloud" let’s write and run the command: listen passive-cache/name like '%' or a "cohql" query, with your preferred parameters In the "Shell" launched with parameters to access the "Site 1" let’s write and run the following commands: load test/10 load test2/20 delete test/50 Expected result If all is OK, the "Shell" to Site Cloud let us to listen to all the add and delete events within the cache "cache-passive", whose objects satisfy the query condition "name like '%' " (ie, every objects in the cache; you could change the tests and create different queries).Through the Shell to "Site 1" we launched the commands to add and to delete objects on different caches (test and test2). With the "Shell" running on "Site Cloud" we got the evidence (displayed or printed, or in a log file) that its cache has been filled with events and related objects generated by commands executed from the" Shell "on" Site 1 ", thanks to "push-replication" feature.  Other tests can be performed, such as, for example, the subscription to the events on the "Site 1" too, using different "cohql" queries, changing the cache configuration,  to effectively demonstrate both the potentiality and  the versatility produced by these different configurations, even in the cloud, as in our case.   Hi Webmasters I have received several email asking me to renew a domain name: REMINDER: Renew early for multiple years and lock in your savings! For your review, listed below are domain names and their expiration dates. F.....COM - Mar. 09, 2011 Since I lost the domain name long time ago and couldn't get it back I asked if it was available again. Goddady replyed: According to WHOIS the domain name is registered to a Japanese company with the expiry date: 2011-12-02. I wrote to Godaddy: According to your information the domain holder is a Japanese company as described below. Can you give me an explanation why you send me an email asking me to pay for a domain name which I do not own? (Expiration Date: 2011-12-02) I am just curious, I am sure there is no ill will on your part. Godaddy answered: Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for contacting online support. This was just to let you know the domain is registered to someone else and who. Then today I got yet another invoice asking me to renew the same domain name once again: **REMINDER: Renew early for multiple years and lock in your savings! The product(s) listed below have expired or are at risk of expiring: Product NameNext Attempt Date.COM Domain Name Renewal - 1 Year (recurring)03/14/2011 F........COM You are at risk of losing the service(s) or product(s) listed above. Your products are currently set to renew manually – they will NOT be renewed automatically on the next attempt date.** The expiry date has now been changed from the 9 of March to the 14 March. Another party owns the domain name and further the domain name was never registered with Godaddy. This appears like a way to make a few buck on a unsuspecting customer, it might even be illegal.   In the new Flash Pro CS6 there is an option to generate spriteheet from a symbol. What is causing this and how do I correct it? 2 .I want to convert it to a sprite sheet for 32 angles of movement. Is there any magical easy way to get this done? Is there a workaround without using Flash CS6 to do the same thing?

Of course I asked him  Why do you have that idea? ORDER BY is not standard? To this, his replies went stranger and stranger Standard Select = Set-based (no any cursor) It’s free to know, just refer to Advanced SQL Programming by Celko or mail to him if you accept comments from him. What the stalker probably doesn't know, is that I and Mr Celko occasionally are involved in some conversation and thus we exchange emails. I don't know if this reference to Mr Celko was made to intimidate me either. So I answered him, still polite, this What do you mean? The SELECT itself has a ”cursor under the hood”. • How to protect Google Ads from yontoo layers runtime?

  Since sometime I have observed that Google Ads on any website including my blog (http://blogs.digitss.com) gets replaced with something similar to uploaded image below. I am sure it's happening with many people and that could reduce google adsense income. After some research I found that it is because "yontoo layers runtime" from http://www.yontoo.com/ (tagline says: Platform that allows you to control the websites you visit everyday.) but actually they are taking over. I am not sure with which software they are making a way into users computer but that seems very bad in terms of freedom of Internet and advt/marketing industry. I don't remember I have ever said "yes" to install yontoo on my computer. This piece of software is successful to install itself on my laptop/desktop and workstation at office. I am going to disable it now but the question is how do I make my websites aware of Yontoo Runtime and stop them from replacing Google Ads? Basically they are not able to replace all adsense ads but so far they are successfully replaced 1st instance of adsense advt and I am sure in future they will hit more. There could be 2 approaches 1) Fool yontoo runtime by putting some misleading divs in html document to save actual ads, 2) Completely disable yontoo by working out some client side script (javascript) which can fail/crash yontoo runtime and so will fail it's purpose of replacing ads. You can visit my blog (http://blogs.digitss.com) and see on top-right corner, if you find that google ad replaced with something similar to image attached with question - it means your computer/browser is infected too. Looking forward to reply from webmasters, if someone has already wrote some code/plugin to make website (and google ads) safe from yontoo or similar runtime. FYI: it was able to push this runtime in all browsers installed on machine. So a dangerous threat. And yes, I am just using Google ads - not sure if yontoo runtime is doing trick against other ad networks or not? I am sure they must be doing it with some handful of ad networks.

• Spring Roo Database Reverse Engineer with Oracle

  So you are trying to reverse engineer an Oracle database with roo? Unfortunately, due to licensing restrictions with the Oracle JDBC Drivers, this is a little difficult. There are a few blog posts and forum threads that address the problem but I figured I would post what worked for me here. First, you need to download the appropriate Oracle Drivers from Oracle. The required login, stringent password requirements, nosy registration form, and general system instability made this a pretty painful step for me. I’d also like to say that companies that have password requirements that don’t allow symbols (or any other non-standard requirement) have a special place in my heart. Having to recover my password every time I go to your site virtually guarantees I will only go there when I absolutely have to (not often). Anyways, once you have it downloaded you need to install is with maven: mvn install:install-file -Dfile=~/Downloads/ojdbc6.jar -DgroupId=com.oracle -DartifactId=ojdbc6 -Dversion=11.2.0.3 -Dpackaging=jar -DgeneratePom=true Here comes the fun part. You need to create an osgi wrapper for the driver to install it in roo. Otherwise, roo cannot see the driver. Create a new folder and put the contents of the oracle roo addon pom gist I created. Now build it with maven. • How can I roll back xserver-xorg-core and xserver-common?

  A recent update to Xorg broke my desktop, which now looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/PbBxh.jpg In short, the desktop background is not updating on the secondary display. (And if there is no secondary display, the primary display background stops updating.) Looking into the history, I found that this happened right after upgrading two packages: xserver-xorg-core xserver-common These were upgraded to 1.9.0-0ubuntu7.3. I'd like to downgrade these packages. How do I do that? • Google Author information in search results still havent displayed my details in search results

  I followed the following instructions but still not clear whether i had completely understood it. http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=1408986 http://www.labnol.org/internet/author-profile-in-google/19775/ I did the above last week and i did not find my picture in google search result. First i added google + link in certain web pages and in my google profile i added those pages which had google + anchor link with rel=author tag. After updating i used the following to verify. http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?url=http%3A%2F%2Fvikku.info%2Fcodesnippets%2Fphp%2F&view= You can see that my pic is appearing at the right. here is a screen shot. so, what am i missing? why it is not in the search result. The author of labnol.org said it will take 3 days for my profile photo link to appear... ? • Economical DNS hosting separate from local registrar for country specific TLDs - email or web hosting not required

  Our company owns many country specific top level domains (TLDs; .sg, .my). We will purchase more for other countries in all South East Asia. These domains are associated with our websites hosted on Amazon EC2. The DNS records are currently hosted on a dedicated server that will shut down tomorrow. (The name servers are set to the ones of a web hosting company) Therefore, I will need to host the DNS records somewhere else. Hosting the DNS records with the local registrar costs SGD18 a year per domain in addition to the domain price (which is already very expensive but we have no choice). It would be convenience to host DNS recors for all the country specific TLDs we have using a single service, separate from the local registrars from which we bought the domains. A few searches prompted examples like Amazon Route 53 and dnsmadeeasy.com and the likes. However, since I'm only concern about the country specific TLDs, not .com 1) Is it really economical to host DNS records of all domains in 1 single place as described above? (Have the relevant countries and/or the local registrars done something to keep their monopoly and always charges ridiculous prices for their country specific TLDs?) 2) I would imagine I will need to tell the local registrars to update the name servers to those of the DNS hosting service provider e.g. dnsmadeeasy.com here. Am I correct about how it works here? 3) Will I be able point the TLDs themselves to IP addresses I desire (the EC2 instances where my websites are) or will I only able to do so with the subdomains? 4) Are there any drawbacks that I should know here? Background about our needs: We need the websites associated with the country TLDs to be up and running all the times Also, we'll need to be able to add/edit A and CNAME records We use Google Apps for Business for internal email so I will need to be able to add/edit MX records and TXT records

  Windows CE is a 32 bits OS since day one, so it makes sense tools shipped with PB, compiler, linker, assembler and etc, are for targeting to 32 bits system. But occasionally, if you are developing x86 based system and especially working on some boot code, such as boot sector of BIOSLOADER, that will be a problem. Normally, as PB provides the prebuilt boot sector image but if you ever need to rebuilt it, what should you do? You may say as it's an x86, perhaps you can use VS or Windows SDK to build it. But unfortunately, today's desktop Windows tool chains are also 32 or even 64 bits only, you need to find something older. VC++ 6.0, but how can you find one? This Website http://thestarman.pcministry.com/asm/masm.htm arranges some useful resources. Basically, you need 2 thing, the 16 bits MASM and 16 bits linker. Just make it even easier for you Download http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60ent/Update/6/W9X2KXP/EN-US/vcpp5.exe for Assembler (MASM). Download http://download.microsoft.com/download/vc15/Update/1/WIN98/EN-US/Lnk563.exe for the Linker. And then just extract the archives and what you need is ml.exe, ml.err and link.exe
