• VMWare Tools StartUp Script

  I am on the latest version of VMWare Workstation. In my VMWareTools I have configrued an individual script file (start.bat) to be started when the (guest) OS is booted. Unfortuantely it does not run when starting the guest system as intended. When pressing "run now" it works Running the script from CMD works as well I have changed the service (VMWareTools service) to run under different users - no success All Users (of the service) have had Administrator privileges I have no idea what is going wrong. Maybe someone is having an idea ....

• Jenkins and Visual Studio Online integration authentication

  right now I am trying to Setup Continuouse Integration - Delivery for a basic WCF Service, which will be hosted on a Microsoft Azure VM. The Project is Version Controlled through Visual Studio Online. So I installed Jenkins (also on the Azure VM), TFS plugin etc. and started the first Test Build: As Server URL I used "[VSO Adress]/DefaultCollection" and for Login purposes my Microsoft Account (I can Access VSO with that).   I am trying to use Beyond Compare for Visual Diff in TortoiseHg. eg Right click on a modified file in explorer and select Visual Diff from TortoiseHg context menu... BeyondCompare opens but only shows the 'welcome' screen and not the file I want to diff. Am I missing something? • How do I make PyScript work? Says it cant find python26.dll

  I installed PyScript to try it out but it just wont start. It only gives me the error: "Error126: Could not open Dll "python26.dll" followed by: "Python could not be properly initialized. We must quit." I think this may have something to do with the PYTHONPATH but since I'm a newbie and dont know what it is or exactly what to put in the PYTHONPATH, after some googling, I ask here. Also, when I tried to install wxPython it was impossible becouse the PYTHONPATH could not be found. I have installed ActivePython 2.6 and the PATH is set so I can access python in cmd.

It download the page that need I login. So I think this site has some other verification strategy, how can I pass it? Whether I must input in browser manually?

  Glassfish v3 is launched as follows: ./bin/asadmin start-domain <domain-name> This script eventually runs: exec "$JAVA" -jar "$AS_INSTALL_LIB/admin-cli.jar" "$@" admin-cli.jar eventually launches another process, effectively putting itself into the background. I would like to launch glassfish without putting itself in the background for the purpose of monitoring with daemontools (ie: svc). Is this possible? The documentation talks about using inittab here which seems like it would also require a way to launch it without forking or backgrounding so some other process (eg: inittab, evc, etc.) can watch the process id and restart it if it crashes. However, in this inittab example, is it using the same backgrounding cmd line, so I don't know how inittab can possibly respawn the process when it doesn't know what process id to watch. Am I missing something?

  I want to write an app that takes in a model filename via cmd line, create a list of stats (poly count, scaling, as much as possible or maybe the stats that i would like) and to load the model with its textures (with anything else) and draw it from multiple position to save the images as pngs. How would i do this? are there utils i can use to extract data from models? how about drawing the models? my server does not have a desktop or video card, would no video HW be a problem?

• How to correctly load 32-bit DLL dependencies when running a program from a batch file

  I have written a tool that references Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.dll, which is a 32-bit DLL. When I build my tool on 64-bit Windows, I set Visual Studio to specifically target X86 in order to force it to a 32-bit build. Targetting X86 instead of All-CPU's prevents me from getting a BadImageFormatException, as long as I invoke the tool directly (e.g. by typing "myTool.exe" on the command line). However, if I run a batch file that invokes the tool, I still get the exception. This happens even if the batch file runs in a 32-bit command prompt (%WINDIR%\SysWOW64\cmd.exe). What else can I do to make this work?

• What is the representation of the mac command key in the terminal?

  Like control key is represented by a '^' in the terminal, what is the equivalent for the command key (mac)? I am trying to remap my bash shortcuts using stty For eg stty eof ^D But instead of control, I want to use the command key. EDIT: Okay so the issue I was trying to solve was that I wanted to interchange command and control keys because I work on osx and linux and the different key combinations cause me a lot of pain. So I interchanged the modifier keys using osx preferences. But now all the bash shortcuts like Ctrl+C etc had become equivalent of using the key sequences 'cmd+c' - which is not acceptable. Thankfully iTerm2, supports remapping of modifier keys as well, so for iterm2 I reversed them again which means iTerm2 recognizes command as command and control as control. So problem solved for now.

  What's the best way to automate this function? I want to be able to do this in Outlook 2010, (1)select a specific mail account (2)Key in a folder that I am looking for (3)Then have the macro/program fire off an "*" asterisk (4)Then insert the text that I keyed in step one. I am trying to automate the search for a folder hot-keys that already exist. My problem is that I can't type the folder that I am looking for fast enough and all the search programs that I have used are far too slow. The hot-key search is awesome and super fast, I just can't type the folder that I am looking for fast enough. Can this process be automated? • Problem with loading compiled c code in R x64 using dyn.load

  I recently went from a 32bit laptop to a 64bit desktop (both win7). I just found out that I get an error now when loading dll's using dyn.load. I guess this is a simple mistake and I am overlooking something. For example, I write this simple c function (foo.c): void foo( int *x) {*x = *x + 1;} Then compile it in command prompt: R CMD SHLIB foo.c Then in 32bit R I can use it in R: > setwd("R") > dyn.load("foo.dll") > .C("foo",as.integer(1)) [[1]] [1] 2 but in 64bit R I get: > dyn.load("foo.dll") Error in inDL(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now), ...) : unable to load shared object 'C:/Users/Sacha/Documents/R/foo.dll': LoadLibrary failure: %1 is not a valid Win32 application. nd.
