  I am trying to add the new Facebook log in button to my registration page on my Drupal site.   Hello, all. I am inspecting the JSON module of python 3.1, and am currently in /Lib/json/scanner.py. At the top of the file is the following line: from _json import make_scanner as c_make_scanner There are five .py files in the module's directory: __init__ (two leading and trailing underscores, it's formatting as bold), decoder, encoder, scanner and tool. There is no file called "json". My question is: when doing the import, where exactly is "make_scanner" coming from? Yes, I am very new to Python!

  I'm an absolute beginner using IDLE (Python 2.6.4) to learn the basics.   Hi, I'm trying to compile a linux kernel module using a Makefile which looks like so: obj-m += main.o all: make -C /lib/modules/$(shell uname -r)/build M=$(PWD) modules clean: make -C /lib/modules/$(shell uname -r)/build M=$(PWD) clean and i'm getting the following warning: main.c:54: warning: ISO C90 forbids mixed declarations and code I need to switch to C99. After reading i noticed i need to add a flag -std=c99, not sure where it suppose to be added. How do I change the Makefile so it will compile through C99 ? Thanks!

• Significant figures in the decimal module

  So I've decided to try to solve my physics homework by writing some python scripts to solve problems for me. One problem that I'm running into is that significant figures don't always seem to come out properly. For example this handles significant figures properly: from decimal import Decimal >>> Decimal('1.0') + Decimal('2.0') Decimal("3.0") But this doesn't: >>> Decimal('1.00') / Decimal('3.00') Decimal("0.3333333333333333333333333333") So two questions: Am I right that this isn't the expected amount of significant digits, or do I need to brush up on significant digit math? Is there any way to do this without having to set the decimal precision manually? Granted, I'm sure I can use numpy to do this, but I just want to know if there's a way to do this with the decimal module out of curiosity.

In addition to the docstrings getting pulled in to the documentation I want like a link to click for each function where it will show you the source... is that possible? • Sysadmin 101: How can I figure out why my server crashes and monitor performance?

  I have a Drupal-powered site that seems to have neverending performance problems. It was butt-slow about 5 months ago. I brought in some guys who installed nginx for anonymous visitors, ajaxified a few queries so they wouldn't fire during page load, and helped me find a few bottlenecks in the code. For about a month, the site was significantly faster, though not "fast" by any stretch of the word. Meanwhile, I'm now shelling out $400/month to Slicehost to host a site that gets less than 5,000/uniques a day. Yes, you read that right. Go Drupal. Recently the site started crashing again and is slow again. I can't afford to hire people to come in, study my code from top to bottom, and make changes that may or may not help anymore. And I can't afford to throw more hardware at the problem. So I need to figure out what the problem is myself. Questions: When apache crashes, is it possible to find out what caused it to crash? There has to be a way, right? If so, how can I do this? Is there software I can use that will tell me which process caused my server to die? (e.g. "Apache crashed because someone visited page X." or "Apache crashed because you were importing too many RSS items from feed X.") There's got to be a way to learn this, right? What's a good, noob-friendly way to monitor my current apache performance? My developer friends tell me to "just use Top, dude," but Top shows me a bunch of numbers without any context. I have no clue what qualifies as a bad number or a good number in Top, or which processes are relevant and which aren't. Are there any noob-friendly server monitoring tools out there? Ideally, I could have a page that would give me a color-coded indicator about how apache is performing and then show me a list of processes or pages that are sucking right now. This way, I could know when performance is bad and then what's causing it to be so bad. Why does PHP memory matter? My apparently has a 30MB memory foot print. Will it run faster if I bring that number down? Thanks for any advice. I spent a year or so trying to boost my advertising income so I could hire a contractor to solve my performance woes. I didn't want to have to learn all this sysadmin voodoo. I'm now resigned to the fact that might not have a choice.

  I Wrote an Http Module that checks if logged user is restricted disables images on the page. void application_AuthorizeRequest(object sender, EventArgs e) { . . . if (context.User.IsInRole("Restricted")) { context.Response.StatusCode = 401; context.Response.End(); } The code works fine. When the page loads, every image on the screen disapears. but when I go to another page and click back button on the browser and goto previous page images appear. What should I? How can I build it correctly to the shared library for using it with python in future? When I learned it, I had only 1 file and I built it with command: gcc -shared -Wl,-soname,hello.so -o hello.so test.cpp -I /usr/include/python2.6/ -lboost_python And I don't know how to configure it in whole project. • VB.NET equivalent of Timeout.bas Module from VB6

  Hi all. I am looking for the VB.NET code of a very handy little *.bas file I used to use in Visual Basic 6. The file was called timeout.bas and it was the greatest module ever to me. I want to switch to start using VB.NET finally but this single file is holding me back. Trying to use .NET without it is like crippling me. Can someone, anyone please make this code work in .NET for me?   I'm newish to the python ecosystem, and have a question about module editing. I use a bunch of third-party modules, distributed on PyPi. Coming from a C and Java background, I love the ease of easy_install <whatever>. This is a new, wonderful world, but the model breaks down when I want to edit the newly installed module for two reasons: The egg files may be stored in a folder or archive somewhere crazy on the file system. Using an egg seems to preclude using the version control system of the originating project, just as using a debian package precludes development from an originating VCS repository. What is the best practice for installing modules from an arbitrary VCS repository? I want to be able to continue to import foomodule in other scripts.

• Getting started with Express - Error: Cannot find module './routes'

  I am just getting started in the world of Node.JS, and I tried using the command line "express" command to install a basic application (with jade support) Now, I was playing around with it a bit to see how it works and I am coming across a strange error: In the /routes directory there is a file called index which contains exports.index = function(req, res){ res.render('index', { title: "Express" }); }; that, as you all know, renders the index page. Well, all I did was renaming that file from index.js to router.js, so that I can easily refer to it as I would like to have more than just an index page. The renaming doesn't work, I get the error Error: Cannot find module './routes' Which is weird, as I though that var express = require('express'), routes = require('./routes'); would require ALL the files in the directory. There must be something small there I'm missing, and please bare with me as I am pretty new to this. Thanks in advance.

  I added the EXSLT dates-and-times module in my XSLT 1.0 file by declaring: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" ... xmlns:date="http://exslt.org/dates-and-times" extension-element-prefixes="date"> This doesn't affect my resulting page, but when I try to call the actual date with: <xsl:value-of select="date:date-time()"/> I receive an "Error loading stylesheet: An unknown error has occurred ()" message when loading my page. A typical user's profile url would be http://www.mymark.com/mike Each user is also created a blog in a multi-user wordpress installation. The wordpress url would look like this: http://www.mymark.com/blog/mike I am trying to use the rewrite module to create more canonical urls for the user (http://www.mymark.com/mike/blog), and have tried several regex variations that I have created through RegExr(a regex generation tool) and come up with this as the pattern to match (www.|)mymark.com/([^/]+)/blog but haven't had any success so far. • Access block level storage via kernel

  How to access block level storage via the kernel (w/o using scsi libraries)? My intent is to implement a block level storage protocol over network for learning purpose, almost the same way SCSI works. Requests will be generated by initiator and sent to target (both userspace program) which makes call to kernel module and returns the data using TCP protocol to initiator. So far, I have managed to build a simple "Hello" module and run it (I am new at kernel programming), but unable to proceed with block access. After searching a lot, I found struct buffer_head * bread(int dev,int block) in linux/fs.h, but the compiler throws error. error: implicit declaration of function ‘bread’ Please help, also feel free to advice on starting with kernel programming. • hook_user not being called for 'login' operation

  I've read in the drupal documentation that hook_user should be invoked for the login operation. To test this I've added a call to drupal_set_message at the top of my modules hook implementation and the only message I'm receiving is a call with 'load' as the $op. I've confirmed that drupal_set_message can be called multiple times and it doesn't erase the previous message, so I'm confident that hook_user is only being invoked the one time. Any good reasons for why hook_user isn't being invoked with 'login' as an operation when I'm logging in?

• Gson module not found Blackberry Java application

  Hi. I'm developing a simple application for Blackberry and i'm using Google's gson to retrieve some data from a server. The UI was working fine but when I added the gson part it started failing, it wont run. When I run the application in the simulator it show this error: "Uncaught: RuntimeException" on that annoying white screen of death and after holding the click button I can see that there is an alert dialog that says "Module 'gson-1.4' not found". However I did added "gson-1.4.jar" in the Project's Properties - Java Build Path - Add External JARs... also, the Gson objects are recognized at my code, no syntax errors at my code. BTW, I'm using Eclipse and the most recent Blackberry SDK Please help

  I am trying to send a simple XML file of the format given in http://wiki.hudson-ci.org/display/HUDSON/Monitoring+external+jobs . I was able to send it easily and was getting desired result!! Then I tried to build this XML file using python script and it was giving me the exact file that I wanted without any problem. • What CPAN module can summarize arbitrary error logs?

  I'm maintaining some website code that will soon dump all its errors and warnings into a log file. In order to make this a bit more pro-active I plan to parse this log file daily, summarize the warnings and errors (i.e. count the occurrence of each specific one and group by either warning/error) and then email this to the devs on the project. This would likely admittedly be rather trivial with a hash and some further fiddling, I wondered if there is a suitable module on CPAN that I could use to do this task. It would either be one that summarizes specifically Perl error/warnings logs or one that summarizes arbitrary text files. Any suggestions?
