  • JPA Secondary Table Issue

    - by Smithers
I have a three tables: User, Course, and Test. Course has a User foreign key and Test has a Course foreign key. I am having trouble mapping the Test collection for each User since I need an intermediary step from User - Course - Test. I am trying to use a SecondaryTable since the User key for the Test is its associated Course row. Am I on the right track using SecondaryTable or is there a way to use a JoinTable without the inverseJoinColumn?

  • Get Criteria by associationPath

    - by niklassaers
Hi guys, Every so often, I get a "org.hibernate.QueryException: duplicate association path: myAssociation". This is because the complex criteria I'm working with can define the same path in many places. I'd love to do something like Criteria association = myCriteria.getAssociation("wax"); if(association == null) association = myCriteria.createCriteria("wax"); Is there any such way that I can check if an association is already in place? Cheers Nik

  • How to specify pessimistic lock with Criteria API?

    - by Reddy
    I am retrieving a list of objects in hibernate using Criteria API. However I need lock on those objects as another thread executing at the same time will get the exact objects and only one of the thread will succeed in absence of a pessimistic lock. I tried like below, but it is not working. List esns=session.createCriteria(Reddy_Pool.class) .add(Restrictions.eq("status", "AVAILABLE")) .add(Restrictions.eq("name", "REDDY2")) .addOrder(Order.asc("id")) .setMaxResults(n) .setLockMode(LockMode.PESSIMISTIC_WRITE) //not working at all .list();

    - by umesh awasthi
Hi All, While working in my application i came across a situation in which there are likely chances to Unque Constraints Violation.I have following options Catch the exception and throw it back to UI At UI check for the exception and show approrpriate Error Message This is something different idea is to Check in advance about the existance of the given Unique value before starting the whole operation. My Question is what might be the best practice to handle such situation.Currently we are using combo of Struts2+Spring 3.x+Hibernate 3.x Thanks in advance

  • How to create a custom Annotation and processing it using APT ?

    - by Dhana
Hi, I'm new to Java Annotation. I know how to create custom annotation but I don't know how to process that Annotation to generate the dynamic code just like ejb 3.0 and hibernate does. I read some articles based on APT but no one gives the details about how to process the Annotation. Are there any tutorials with sample code for processing custom Annotations? Thanks

  • Rolling back a transaction in a Grails Service

    - by UltraVi01
I have been updating all my services to be transactional by using Grail's ability to rollback when a RuntimeException is thrown in the service. I have, in most cases, doing this: def domain = new Domain(field: field) if (!domain.save()) { throw new RuntimeException() } Anyways, I wanted to verify that this indeed will rollback the transaction... it got me thinking as to whether at this point it's already been committed.. Also, if not, would setting flush:true change that? I am not very familiar with how Spring/Hibernate does all of this :)

  • How can i resolve the N+1 Selects problem ?

    - by Maxime ARNSTAMM
Hello everyone, I have trouble understanding how to avoid the n+1 select in jpa or hibernate. From what i read, there's the 'left join fetch', but i'm not sure if it still works with more than one list (oneToMany).. Could someone explain it to me, or give me a link with a clear complete explanation please ? I'm sorry if this is a noob question, but i can't find a real clear article or doc on this issue. Thanks

  • Two Persistence Units, Two entityManagerFactory(s), SPring, JPA, Hibernate

    - by sebajb
I am using Two entityManagerFactory{1,2} based on two persistence units, autowired through spring, hibernate, with resource local. My DaoImpls are configured with the PersistenceUnit(unitName='...') according to the unit needed. I was under the impression that using them with the unitName specified would allow me to use x number of PUs without problem but I still get: expected single matching bean but found two: [emf1, emf2]. Am I missing some other configuration?
