  • Acer OrbiCam in Acer 5102WLMI with Windows 7 Pro won't work?

    My camera seems to open up but shuts down right away without showing any picture. the message is Windows is checking for solutions but never finds any. I have tried several different drivers and tried re-installing OrbiCam software several times. Anyone know ofany drivers or software that might work or have any ideas on how to fix it?

  • c code compiles but is not executed in kubuntu

  • How to sleep computer via batch file? (Windows 7)

    So I want to make a batch file that will sleep my computer after a period of time. The closest thing I have found is placing it in standby, but seems to work differently then the sleep button on my keyboard (longer bootup, doesn't wake on mouse click). Any ideas? Would it be easier in python or c#? The less then ideal technique mentioned above is calling this in the cmd prompt: Rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState

  • Gmail + Firefox hang?

    In the past couple of days I've been having trouble getting into gmail from firefox. In IE and chrome it works as usual but in Firefox it hangs in the "Loading" screen and never finishes. I've tried F5 and Ctrl+F5 but both don't seem to change anything. Any ideas?

  • MySQL writing to net

    I have a server that has been running at high CPU load due to MySQL activity, when i run the command mysqladmin pr i often see a few queries with the state "writing to net". I had a look around and couldn't find much out about this other than the fact i read somewhere that this shouldnt be expected in usual MySQL activity. Any ideas what this could mean? Running MySQL 5.0.91-community on CentOS 4.8

    Hi, my OS is Windows Server 2003. I installed the FTP Service and configure it with the IIS 6.0 Console. When I deactivate my firewall, all its okay, but when not, I can't get a connection. Port 21 tcp + udp, port 22 tcp + udp and the whole FTP-Server Application is set as go trouhgt, but don't work. Of course, the FTP ruins on 21. Any ideas

  • How to change machine name on TFS 2010 RC?

    I'm trying to rename the TFS 2010 RC VM machine name so I can add it to our domain without the chance of clashing with another copy of the VM already on the domain. I found instructions for TFS 2008 saying to use TFSAdminUtil ActivateAT , but this tool has now been replaced by TFSConfig and I can't see an obvious replacement for 'ActivateAT'. Any ideas what the new command should be?

  • Apache rewrite to ignore certain directory and all its contents

    Hi, I'm looking for the rewrite rule for mod_rewrite in Apache so that when asking for a specific subdirectory, it and all its contents gets redirected to another location. I currently have the following: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/SUBDIRECTORY(/.*)? /another/location But this only manages to redirect /SUBDIRECTORY requests to the desired location, while all others (like (/SUBDIRECTORY/ , /SUBDIRECTORY/anything/else ) gets me an error telling me that the redirection is not valid... any ideas? Thanks!

    I am looking at using either Debian or CentOS for a production server and I've heard mixed reviews of each one. I've heard CentOS performs better under load, however I am aware that Debian has a much larger package repository. Personally, I am partial to Debian since I am less familiar with Red Hat distros, but wanted to reach out on Server Fault to see which I really should be using. Any ideas? Thanks!

I want to set up a system that will regularly (hourly?) back up the /home directory of our machine. time Machine style things are naturally preferable since they save space by only saving the changes, but honestly, this is important enough that I can suffer some waste.   • Find what pages IE is fetching similar to console in firebug?

    Firebug Lite bookmarklet is no help here, on half the pages it doesn't even show up. What I need is basically this: to show what IE is connecting to, because my application is working fine in firefox and chrome, but in an enterprise/corporate environment, I have to get it working with IE as well, and it's not working there. Any ideas of how I can get something similar just to see what the page is trying to (or not trying to) connect to? I'm using IE8 for this (on an windows XP machine, can't use IE9)

Both PCs are using Windows XP, and I have no crossover cables.   • Cannot write DVDs anymore, but can read them and write CDs

    I'm stumped. I used to be able to write to DVDs and now I can't. I've tried different media (Memorex and Imations) I've tried different drives (internal and external) and even different OS's (Windows 7 and Linux Mint). Nothing I've done will work and it's a real problem not being able to burn DVD's. I'm on an Acer 6930 if that helps. Does anyone have any ideas?

    I have a zip 30GB zip file containing an archive a digital materials available in the school library that I want to burn to dvd. Of course, 30Gb is far too large for a single dvd and the content is already zipped. I'm open to ideas, but leaning towards suggestions that will help me automatically spread the file over multiple dvds, including a simple program to stitch it back together again later.

  • Open dialog box won't show files in libraries, but explorer will

    I have the weirdest problem when trying to open or save files. When I try to get to "My Documents" through the "Libraries" side link it won't show any of my files. It will show them if I go around from the C:// drive into the user files though. I thought it was because I didn't have the right location defined for the "Libraries" shortcut, but when I use "Explorer" to open my "Libraries" it shows all the files. Any ideas?

  • Recompile PHP5.3 with mysqlnd on Debian Squeeze?

    My current PHP5.3 installation was compiled with libmysql by default. To run certain mysqli functions, I need the mysqlnd library, but I can't seem to find a step by step guide giving proper description how to recompile PHP 5.3 on Debian 6 with custom settings. All I found was the configuration parameter on the PHP.net manual (http://php.net/manual/en/mysqlinfo.library.choosing.php) saying that this is a compile time decision: $ ./configure --with-mysqli=mysqlnd --with-pdo-mysql=mysqlnd --with-mysql=mysqlnd Any ideas how to do it? Any ideas on where to troubleshoot?   • Could I use Ubuntu/Linux keyboard layout in Mac OS X with a PC keyboard?

    Hi I'm a used Ubuntu user on a pc, and I like the french keyboard layout because it allows me to type accentued characters easily. I found a win-fr keyboard layout but it's much like windows and not so good. I found xmodmap.fr keyboard layout and I'd like to know if it was possible use it with my Mac SL 10.6.5, maybe I could do xmodmap xmodmap.fr or a way to convert to mac layout file. Any ideas?!

  • itunes 9 on mac skips during play

    Since upgrading to itunes 9 certain songs are ok but other songs skip during play. I tried downgrading to itunes 8 but to no avail. I've tried other music players and some have the same problem and some don't so I think the problem is not with itunes but with the music api. Any ideas? Thanks.
