  • Windows 7 VPN stops web browser

    Hi, I've just installed Windows 7 RTM and setup Windows VPN to work office. It all works fine except, when the VPN is connected, regular web access stops working eg: local web browser can't connect to anything. Disconnect VPN and web works again. I've tried re-ordering the priorities of network adaptors with no luck. I'm not sure where to look next. Any ideas? Brad

  • System time is off in Fedora

    I have a desktop PC with Fedora, Ubuntu and Windows installed and grub used for multibooting. But time in Fedora is always 5 hours behind. If I change the time in Fedora, then Windows and Ubuntu will be 5 hours ahead of the current time. I don't understand how to fix it. Any ideas? All the timezone settings in Fedora, Ubuntu and Windows are the same.

  • Terrible sound listening to Radio 1 on iPlayer specifically

    Just recently while listening to radio 1 online, the sound quality has become horrible, sounds all crackly and underwater. I've tried reinstalling Flash, and radios 2/3/4 sound fine. It almost sounds like there are two playing at once. When I listen to it through a WMA stream (Flip4Mac), it's fine. Any ideas? Mac OS 10.6.3 Flash 10.0.45.2

  • montoring service to detect when email is not received

    I would like to monitor an email server - not whether the port is open and receiving, but rather that a "canary" message sent every so often actually arrives somewhere else. I have had a problem with a server getting firewalled off and no one noticing that cron jobs are not coming from the machine for a few weeks. Of course, the machine itself cannot send out a notification if it is having problems, so this requires an outside service. Any ideas?

  • How can I draw "perfect" squiggly lines in Photoshop?

    I want to create a logo that for the two "o" characters uses a series of squiggly lines in the the shape of an "o". Sketch: I did this with Paint but I obviously want consistency with the squiggly lines and close to a circular layout. Why squiggly lines? Well, it's to reinforce the word itself being "loose". Does anyone have any ideas how to tackle making this or tutorials that do similar things to word art?

  • Exchange 2010 SP1 won't allow messages to be deleted in OWA

    Before upgrading to Service Pack 1 of Exchange 2010, OWA worked fine. We were able to do everything with no issues. After the upgrade, we can no longer delete messages within OWA unless we open up the message and delete it using the delete button inside of the message window. The error we get is this: We've searched online and only found several posts pointing us to rename or delete the web.config file in the inetpub directory. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

    I'm trying to install SQL Compact 3.5 SP2 after I've installed SQL 2012 RC0, on a x64 Windows 7. The x86 installer goes through fine. The x64 installer fails, with the error: "Error 25543.Failed to save changes to XML file c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\CONFIG\machine.config, system error: -2147024864" Note the \CONFIG (double backslash) where there should be a single backslash... any ideas why this is happening and how to solve it?

    I just generated a certificate with a CN and two subject alternative names (3 differents fqdn) and i always get a handshake failure, whatever the ssl version i use: 14177:error:1407F0E5:SSL routines:SSL2_WRITE:ssl handshake failure:s2_pkt.c:428: 14176:error:1409E0E5:SSL routines:SSL3_WRITE_BYTES:ssl handshake failure:s3_pkt.c:530: I'm now asking myself if IIS 5 on win2000 does really support those certificates, any ideas ?   • Is there an IE8 setting for "minimum font size" to display?

    When I look at our website in IE8 the text we have set to display smaller doesn't display smaller. But when I use BrowserShots.org it shows IE8 renderings with the smaller text appropriately smaller. So I'm thinking that there must be some setting in IE8 for "minimum font size to display". It's not the the TextSize (set to Medium) or Zoom setting (I set/reset zoom to 100%). It's something else. Any ideas?

Msg 6544, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 CREATE ASSEMBLY for assembly 'myassembly' failed because assembly 'chilkatdotnet2' is malformed or not a pure .NET assembly. Unverifiable PE Header/native stub. Any ideas how to resolve, workaround?

    Hi, I've created a form in a PDF with Adobe Acrobat Pro. When empy, I want to use it as a template which the user opens, fills in, and saves as a copy to preserve the blank state of the template. Here's the trick : I found both ways to make the document read only - the user can't save the form value, only print them make the document writeable, but in this case the document acting as a template can be modified too. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Hello, I try to configure a file-type item for .axd filetype. There I have troubles with the associated class for this file-type. E.g. I have tried it with "XML-document" (xml-informations are included at the files with .axd) but it does not work. The .axd file will not be opened with the associated application.     Is it possible to include the config.tar (encompasses the rules before/after scripts…) instead of on a web server served through http:// - but included no the cdrom itself. Namely am trying to do something along the lines of: title Solaris kernel$ /boot/multiboot kernel/$ISADIR/unix install cdrom:/config/config.tar dhcp -B install_media=cdrom module$ /boot/$ISADIR/x86.miniroot Yet it seems Solaris only supports HTTP or NFS as the source for config.tar - and not the CDROM itself.     Is there any way to configure outlook to send messages without Outlook being open? We're currently using a system where the "Email Page" opens a outlook Sendto window. You can click "Send", but the message stays in the (Outbox) until you open Outlook. I'm trying to get around opening Outlook. Anyone have any ideas?

    I have a D-Link home router and my isp is Time warner. When I try to login to any site it does not let me. The website does not keep me logged in when I navigate the pages. I have to keep loging in for every web page I see. When I connect my cable modem directly to my computer I am able to stay logged in. Any ideas here?

  • WSS audiences dont show all AD Groups

    Not all of my AD Groups are showing in the Audience list. I want to create a new audience based on if the user is in a group. Some AD groups show up, and others don't. Many the newer ones do not show up. My connection is pulling (im pretty sure) the whole AD via primary domain controller. MOS2007 win2003 Any ideas?

  • How do I remove the Never-Ending Dropbox Folder?

    I don't know if this is an error with eclipse or dropbox, but I seem to be unable to delete a file folder within my dropbox folder. Somehow, there was a creation of over 8300 file folders, all duplicates of the previous folder. I tried deleting from both command line, and explorer but get the same error: I've also deleted the share from the dropbox website, and it deleted correctly from there, but during the sync from the client (my pc) to the site there is an error: Any ideas of what to do?
