  • iPhone animated banner : which framework to use

    Hi folks, I'm willing to create a little frame to display animated ads in my app. It could be simple little animations, or "3D" transition between ads, or combination of both. I'm not familiar with graphic frameworks, I just used CoreGraphics, which I think is not optimized for that. I thought of OpenGL, but maybe that's too much and takes too much ressources just for this little thing. What do you think ?

  • Keep div:hover open when changing nested select box

    This is an IE-only problem. .toolTip becomes visible when it's parent element is :hovered over. Inside of .toolTip is a select box. When the user opens the select box to make a selection, the parent element is being "un-hovered", if you will. To put it another way, when I try to select something from the dropdown, the whole thing hides itself again. I'm sure it has something to do with the way IE interprets the stylesheet, but I don't know what or where.   • Reset selection of wx.lib.calendar.Calendar control?

    I have a wx.lib.calendar.Calendar control (not wx.lib.calendar.CalendarCtrl!). I am selecting a number of days using the following function call: self.cal.AddSelect([days], 'green', 'white') This works, and draws the days highlighted. However, I cannot work out how to reverse this (i.e., clear the selection so the days go back to their normal colouring). Any hints, please?

  • Visual Studio keeps running the old build

    Hello. I have a simple Silverlight program that displays a bunch of images. I modified it do display more images, but it when I hit "run without debugging" is keeps running the old build with fewer images. When I copy the code into a new project and run it, it works fine for the first time, but then each subsequent change is not displayed. What could be the problem? I'm using Visual Web Developer 2008 Express.

  • Any thoughts on how to create a true 'punch-out' area in a Sprite?

    I've been working on this for awhile, now. You might also call it a 'reverse mask', or an 'inverse mask'. Basically, I'm creating a view window within a display object. I need to allow objects on the stage that are under the window to be able to interact with the mouse. This is similar to a WPF question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/740994/use-wpf-object-to-punch-hole-in-another, which has a much shorter write-up. I've got a Class called PunchOutShield, which creates a Sprite that covers the stage (or over some desired area). The Sprite's Graphics object is filled using the color and transparency of Flex's modal screen. The result is a screen that looks like the screen which appears behind a modal PopUp. PunchOutShield has a method called punch, which takes two arguments - the first is a Shape object, which defines the shape of the punch-through area; the second is a Point object, which indicates where to position the punch-through area. It took some experimenting, but I found that I can successfully create a punch-out area (i.e. - the modal screen does not display within the bounds of the given Shape). To do this, I set cacheAsBitmap to true on the Sprite that is used to create the modal screen, and also on the Shape object, which is added to the modal screen Sprite's displayList. If I set the blend mode of the Shape to ERASE, a completely transparent area is created in the modal screen. So far, great. The problem is that Shape does not subclass InteractiveObject, so there is no way to set mouseEnabled = false on it. And so, it prevents interaction between the mouse and any objects that are visible through the punch-out area. On top of that, InteractiveObject isn't available to look at, so I can't see if there is a way to borrow what it's doing to provide the mouseEnabled functionality and apply it to a subclass of Shape. I've tried using another Sprite object, rather than a Shape object, but the blending doesn't work out correctly. I'm not sure why there is a difference, but the Shape object seems to somehow combine with the parenting Sprite, allowing the ERASE blendMode to effect the desired punch-out visual appearance. It wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to draw up the screen with a series of rectangles so that the punch-out area was just simply not drawn, but that approach won't work if the punch-out area is complex. Or round. Any thoughts on this approach, or on an alternative approach?

If I've got a package of graphics code for my company, lets call it com.example.graphics, should I include my tests in that package too or should they be included in a seperate package, like com.example.graphics.test?   • triggering an event with jQuery live or delegate

    I'd like to attach a handler to an element using either jQuery live() or delegate(). Looking at the docs I see I can attach the handler for a custom event. Is this possible for either of these jQuery functions to also trigger the handler? Basically I want to attach the handler function and run call it once. Thank you for any help.

  • Scroll a ListBox's VirtualizingStackPanel with buttons

    I have a Listbox displaying 5 items at a time, horizontally. I want to implement a 'Previous' and 'Next' button that when clicked, will display the previous set of 5, or next set of 5 items. I am not displaying the horizontal scroll bar, as I don't want a user to navigate with that. Is there already some functionality implemented so I can do this, or do I need to write code to calculate what items I'm displaying, etc, in the button's click events? Thanks in advance!

  • Calculate total time between Dates in Hours and Minutes

    Hi I’m trying to resolve a problem using VB and I need some assistance. I’m very new to the language (1 week). The problem is I have created a user form to show how many hours and minutes has elapsed between two different times similar to a time sheet. The user form consists of two calendars, and under each calendar there are two text boxes; one box each to record the Hour and Minute they left and two further boxes to record the time they arrived back. I have used the code to minus the calendars together (e.g calendar in – calendar out) then times this by 24 to indicate the hours away. Then under the calendar out I have a text box for the user to type in the hour they left. Then I minus the 24 by the Hour out e.g. if it was 24 -15 it will appear 9 ( 9 hours of that day ) then I would add that to the figure they inserted in the text box Hour in (Return Time). e.g 14. Then I would add them to together e.g. 9 + 14 = 23 and have this displayed in another text box Total Hours. Therefore it would display 23 meaning 23 hours. I have then want to show another two text boxes to indicate minutes. One for Minutes Out then Minutes In. I have the problem to convert these minutes for instance if it is the out time is 15:50 and the in time the next day is at 15:55 it displays as 24 (in one text box) and 105 minutes (in the other text box). I would like the minutes added to the hour and have the balance of the remaining minutes in the minute text box. This should display 24 (in one text box) and 5 (in another text box). The ultimate aim is to get a result that shows a person was absent for a number of days, hours and minutes, eg, 2 days, 5 hours and 10 minutes. Any ideas on how I can modify my code to achieve this?     The exception is Remoting Exception - Authentication Failure. The detailed message says "Unable to read data from the transport connection: the connection was closed." I'm having trouble with creating two simple servers that can comunicate as remote objects in C#. ServerInfo is just a class I created that holds the IP and Port and can give back the address. It works fine, as I used it before, and I've debugged it. Also the server is starting just fine, no exception is thrown, and the channel is registered without problems. I'm using Forms to do the interfaces, and call some of the methods on the server, but didn't find any problems in passing the parameters from the FormsApplication to the server when debugging. All seems fine in that chapter. public ChordServerProgram() { RemotingServices.Marshal(this, "PADIBook"); nodeInt = 0; } public void startServer() { try { serverChannel = new TcpChannel(serverInfo.Port); ChannelServices.RegisterChannel(serverChannel, true); } catch (Exception e) { Console.WriteLine(e.ToString()); } } I run two instances of this program. Then startNode is called on one of the instances of the application. The port is fine, the address generated is fine as well. As you can see, I'm using the IP for localhost, since this server is just for testing purposes. public void startNode(String portStr) { IPAddress address = IPAddress.Parse("127.0.0.1"); Int32 port = Int32.Parse(portStr); serverInfo = new ServerInfo(address, port); startServer(); //node = new ChordNode(serverInfo,this); } Then, in the other istance, through the interface again, I call another startNode method, giving it a seed server to get information from.   • How to make html image clickable inside a TextView

    I have the following text in a string in the resources file: <a href="mailto:[email protected]">&lt;img src="mail_big" /&gt;</a> It shows the image fine (I implemented ImageGetter) but it is not clickable. I have tried adding the Linkify thingy but I don't think it's meant for this case, and so it doesn't work. The setMovementMethod doesn't work either. I have tried different combinations of the above: <a href="mailto:[email protected]">&lt;img src="mail_big" /&gt;hello</a> Here, even the "hello" part is not clickable (neither blue nor underlined). <a href="mailto:[email protected]"><img src="mail_big" /></a> This doesn't even show the image. &lt;a href="mailto:[email protected]"&gt;&lt;img src="mail_big" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; If I just write the email, without the <a> tag it works perfectly, but I would like to use the image of an envelope that the user can click on. It's not possible to use an imagebutton because this text is in the middle of a string and so I can't split it. Any ideas? Thanks! EDIT: I found a solution or rather found how to do it correctly. All I had to do was adding the setMovementMethod call before the call to setText in the TextView and ALSO, and COMPLETELY NECESSARY, remove the attribute "android:autoLink="all" from the layout. Apparently, parsing mails and urls in a string is mutually exclusive to interpreting the link tags in a string. So one or the other but not both. Finally my layout is just a TextView with nothing special, just width and height. The activity is like this: TextView tv = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.about_text); tv.setMovementMethod(LinkMovementMethod.getInstance()); tv.setText(Html.fromHtml(getString(R.string.about_content), new ImageGetter(), null)); And the string is like this: <string name="about_content"><a href="mailto:[email protected]"><img src="mail" /></a></string>

  • asp:Button is not calling server-side function

    Hi guys, I know that there has been much discussion here about this topic, but none of the threads I got across helped me solve this problem. I'm hoping that mine is somewhat unique, and may actually merit a different solution. I'm instantiating an asp:Button inside a data-bound asp:GridView through template fields. Some of the buttons are supposed to call a server-side function, but for some weird reason, it doesn't. All the buttons do when you click them is fire a postback to the current page, doing nothing, effectively just reloading the page. Below is a fragment of the code: <asp:GridView ID="gv" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="false" CssClass="l2 submissions" ShowHeader="false"> <Columns> <asp:TemplateField> <ItemTemplate><asp:Panel ID="swatchpanel" CssClass='<%# Bind("status") %>' runat="server"></asp:Panel></ItemTemplate> <ItemStyle Width="50px" CssClass="sw" /> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:BoundField DataField="description" ReadOnly="true"> </asp:BoundField> <asp:BoundField DataField="owner" ReadOnly="true"> <ItemStyle Font-Italic="true" /> </asp:BoundField> <asp:BoundField DataField="last-modified" ReadOnly="true"> <ItemStyle Width="100px" /> </asp:BoundField> <asp:TemplateField> <ItemTemplate> <asp:Button ID="viewBtn" cssclass='<%# Bind("sid") %>' runat="server" Text="View" OnClick="viewBtnClick" /> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> </asp:GridView> The viewBtn above should call the viewBtnClick() function on server-side. I do have that function defined, along with a proper signature (object,EventArgs). One thing that may be of note is that this code is actually inside an ASCX, which is loaded in another ASCX, finally loaded into an ASPX. Any help or insight into the matter will be SO appreciated. Thanks! (oh, and please don't mind my trashy HTML/CSS semantics - this is still in a very,very early stage :p)
