    So in my model, there is a field user_id - which holds the ID of the user who created the record. To display the ID of the current user, I have @current_user.id My question is this, in the controller I want @posts to only have records created by @current_user.id how can I do this?

  • Run shell command from jar?

    The usual way to call a shell command from java is something like that: Process process = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command); and works usually fine. But now I've exported my project to an executable jar file and callig shell commands doesn't work any more. Are there any explanations, solutions or workarounds for this problem? phineas -- edit: even keyboard interrupts (ctrl+c; ctrl+d) aren't recognized. terminal input won't work after killing java

  • Reference Object calling function in Javascript

    I have a makeshift events system in JS and the attacher looks like this: events.attach(events.NEW_TASK,this.update); Where this.update is a callback/handler/function. The problem is, when the dispatcher tries to call this handler, it loses it's original context. How can I bind the handler with the context of the object that calls the attach function without passing this as an argument and using that?

  • How to reliably categorize HTTP sessions in proxy to corresponding browser' windows/tabs user is viewing?

    I was using the Fiddler core .Net library as a local proxy to record the user activity in web. However I ended up with a problem which seems dirty to solve. I have a web browser say Google Chrome, and the user opened like 10 different tabs each with different web URLs. The problem is that the proxy records all the HTTP session initiated by each pages separately, causing me to figure out using my intelligence the tab which the corresponding HTTP session belonged to. I understand that this is because of the stateless nature of HTTP protocol. However I am just wondering is there an easy way to do this? I ended up with below c# code for that in Fiddler. Still its not a reliable solution due to the heuristics. This is a modification of the sample project bundled with Fiddler core for .NET 4. Basically what it does is filtering HTTP sessions initiated in last few seconds to find the first request or switching to another page made by the same tab in browser. It almost works, but not seems to be a universal solution.   • What are the requirments for ISupportInitialize code to be serialized in InitializeComponent? .Net

    I need to add some code to the EndInit method of a PictureBox control but unfortunately its private and, from what I can gather, I can't shadow it and call base - at least not in VB.Net. What I can do is add a dummy property to my picture box class. The type of the dummy property is simply a class that just implements ISupportInitialize. However, that doesn't work, I need the dummy class to inherit from Control. Is that the minimum requirement?

  • Window parent not working in IE 8

    I have a parent page and a child page. By using window.opener.parent property,I am able to read the parent page content and display it in the child page.(There is a PREVIEW button on parent page,on click of which the child page opens up as a popup and displays the content of parent page controls.) This functionality was working fine in IE7/Mozilla/IE6 but I am unable to locate why its not workin with IE8. Can anyone please help?
