• Grails external Jms broker (active mq)

  I have what will become an 'external' activemq server I'd like grails to be able to talk to. Right now I am just running it on my dev box. Here is what I have setup right now: 1) Run activemq server 2) Run activemq/examples using ant to produce messages 3) View ActiveMQ admin site: http://localhost:8161/admin/queues.jsp verify that messages are in the queue. 4) Follow Mini Tutorial to create the Service and Controller: http://www.grails.org/ActiveMQ+Plugin 5) Configured my Grails resources.groovy file as follows: beans = { jmsConnectionFactory(SingleConnectionFactory){ targetConnectionFactory = { ActiveMQConnectionFactory cf -> brokerURL = 'tcp://localhost:61616' } } } When I run the grails app I get a BindException saying port 61616 is already in use. How do I configure this to use my server that is already running? I've tried changing 'localhost' to '127.0.0.1' and to my LAN ip, but no luck, it keeps trying to setup its own embedded activemq server. Any ideas?

• trouble setting up TreeViews in pygtk

  I've got some code in a class that extends gtk.TreeView, and this is the init method. I want to create a tree view that has 3 columns. A toggle button, a label, and a drop down box that the user can type stuff into. The code below works, except that the toggle button doesn't react to mouse clicks and the label and the ComboEntry aren't drawn. (So I guess you can say it doesn't work). • Second CSS class not working in IE8.

  I have the following div being rendered to the client, but on IE, the checked-yes class is ignored. If I view the target element in the 'Developer Tools', that class is completely missing from the Style panel. • WPF TextBox value doesn't change on OnPropertyChanged

  I have a TextBox whose Value is binded to a ViewModel property: <TextBox Name="txtRunAfter" Grid.Column="4" Text="{Binding Mode=TwoWay, Path=RunAfter}" Style="{StaticResource TestStepTextBox}"/> The set and get were working fine until I tried to add some validation when the Value is set: private int _runAfter = 0; public string RunAfter { get { return _runAfter.ToString(); } set { int val = int.Parse(value); if (_runAfter != val) { if (val < _order) _runAfter = val; else { _runAfter = 0; OnPropertyChanged("RunAfter"); } } } } Although the OnPropertyChanged is reached (I have dubugged that), the View is not changed. • ASP NET forms Authorization: how to reduce duration?

  I've got a web page which is implementing cookie based ASPNET Forms Authentication. Once the user has logged in the page, he can edit some information using a form which is created using a partialview and returned to him as a dialog for editing. The action linked to the partial view is decorated as follows: [HttpGet] [OutputCache(Duration = 0, VaryByParam = "None")] [Authorize(Roles = "test")] public ActionResult changeTripInfo(int tripID, bool ovride=false) { ... } The problem i am experiencing is the latency between the request and the time when the dialog is shown to the user: time ranges between 800 and 1100 ms which is not justified by the complexity of the form. Investigating with Glimpse turns out that the time to process the AuthorizeAttribute (see snip) sums up to at least 650 ms which is troubling me. Looking at the Sql server log, the call which checks the user roles takes, as expected, virtually nothing (duration 0). How can I reduce this time? Am I missing some optimization?

• Navigation Dropdown Text Color doesn't work in FF and IE

  Hello, I was able to get the navigation dropdown to show the letters in a different color from the background (white in this case) in Chrome browser. But when I view the same page in IE or FF, the whole background is just all green. • How can I make the keyboard disappear after entering the text ?

  I have two text fields in my view. I did it using IB. My problems are After entering the text in textField1 I am entering text in textField2. When I click in textField1 again the previous text is disappeared in the textField1. After entering the text in both the textFields, I need the keyboard to disappear. But, even I touched the return key in the keyboard layout or I touched the screen outside the text field the keyboard is not disappearing. How can I make this. Thank you.

• What's the best way to return a subset of a list

  I have a list of tasks. A task is defined by a name, a due date and a duration. My TaskManager class handles a std::list<Task> sorted by due date. It has to provide a way to get the tasks due for a specific date. How would you implement that ? I think a good way (from API point of view) would be to provide a std::list<Task>::iterator pair. So I would have a TaskManager::begin(date) method. Do you think this method should get the iterator by iterating from the start of the list until it finds the first task due on that date, or by getting it from a std::map<date, std::list<Task>::iterator> (but then we have to keep it up-to-date when adding or removing tasks) ? And then, how could I implement the TaskManager::end(date) method ?

From browsing this site I've realised the best option is via a view, but initially I thought I was meant to add several tables to the same full text index via Management Studio. I started to do this and realised the index would have no idea how they were related, so my question is: when would I want to have a full text index covering several tables in this way?   I have Codeigniter installed and working for my main site. But I am now trying to add an add-on domain to the same hosting account, so I can have two sites running on the same hosting. Add-on domains make a new folder in the main public_html folder to store the web files. How can I get Codeigniter to ignore this directory? The site doesn't load properly when I try and view it. I have an SSL on the main site too and redirection for www URLS.   I have an iPad app with a standard UIViewController/UIView setup - all rotations are allowed. The UIView draws some tiled image as background (the tile is 256*256 pixels): - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { [[UIImage imageNamed: @"Background.png"] drawAsPatternInRect: rect]; } When I turn my iPad I can see that during the rotation the image pattern of the original orientation is scaled to fit the new orientation. Then - immediately after the animation is finished - the view redraws its background pattern with the final configuration which is unscaled. The switching from a scaled to an unscaled pattern looks a bit ugly. Is there a way to circumvent (or hide) this strecthing of the background pattern?

• How to deal with callback to your UIController after your UIController unloads?

  Suppose your controller is a table view and one of the cells you are going off to do a length task (say download a thumbnail) to be viewed in the cell. Typically you would have the network call do a callback to your controller when it is done downloading. The callback can then reload the table or do some other form of UI update (hides a spinner etc). However, what if the controller is unloaded? Say the user navigated away from this controller and it got released? What happens? Will the callback still work despite the controller now not in memory? Also, if the callback operates on some objects (say the UITableView) what happens when the controller is deallocated? I suppose the controller can release all the objects and the callback would just be calling methods on nil to prevent crash. But is this the convention?

• Problem mapping data located in a NSMutableArray

  I have an NSMutableArray which contains some addresses which I need to map using Apple's MapKit SDK which I can't seem to get to load. The NSLog keeps telling me that the data source is (null) and a 0x0 error displays when I attempt to print out the array. Any ideas? The data is parsed and stored from another class, perhaps I'm not linking it across properly? The data is originally gathered from an RSS feed, bought into the app with an IMporter class, and then displayed in a table view. I want to be able to connect into that data with my mapping class, but am struggling to do so.

• Rails + Passenger CSS problem

  I'm trying to deploy my first Rails app. At first, I was getting the following error: ActionView::TemplateError (Permission denied) I set the permissions of the stylesheets folder to 777 (just for now until I work out what's going wrong) and the application started to work. However, it is not picking up any of the stylesheets (everything is displayed in plain text). If I view the source code and click the CSS links, I just get a blank page. Javascripts however, seem to be working just fine. VHost Config: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName xxxx.xxx.com DocumentRoot /home/myapp/public <Directory /home/myapp/public> Allow from All AllowOverride all Options -MultiViews </Directory> </VirtualHost> Can anyone help? • Forwarding activity result to parent, with singleTop launch mode

  I have two activities: a MainListActivity, and a DetailViewActivity. DetailViewActivity is set with android:launchMode="singleTop". When clicking an item in the "main list" activity, it launches the "detail view" activity via: startActivityForResult(detailIntent, REQUEST_CODE_DETAIL); If I then call setResult(RESULT_OK, resultData); and finish(); from within the Detail activity, that resultData is received by the "main list" activity's onActivityResult(..) method correctly. However, if I implement a "see previous"/"see next" type of navigation within the Detail activity, and implement it using singleTop, that result no longer gets sent back to the initial activity: Intent nextItemIntent = this.createIntent(nextId); nextItemIntent.setFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_FORWARD_RESULT); startActivity(nextItemIntent); // at this point, my DetailActivity's onNewIntent() method is called, and the new data is loaded properly But from here, when I call setResult(..) and finish(), my MainList activity never receives the new/updated result. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
